Gym hacks and DIY projects for the gym have become must! For many of us, COVID-19 has been the (very unfortunate) mother of invention. Mainly out of necessity due to gym shutdowns and equipment shortages. The ridiculous pricing of available gym equipment has also been a driving factor for many of us to invent and MacGyver our gym equipment. Having been missing the many movements and different t...

DIY Air Suspension Compressor Replacement Welcome to the Gutz Life! After looking all through the internet for videos on how to change the compressor for my 2012 Expedition, I came up empty. I decided to make a video once I had everything pulled apart since it was not easy. I learned a few things along the way that I thought would be important to share. Please keep in mind, I am a backyard/hobb...

With Covid-19 restrictions still in place and no end in sight, we are getting a jump on planning our spring and summer activities. Last year we did not use our stand up paddle boards (SUP) as much as we would have liked because of a four-legged addition to our family. We are not going to let another su...
I have several of the instant vortex and I noticed that after the basket has been out for so long it may reset and will go through the warm up time again I usually just adjust the cook time
Tag the part? 2010 Ford Expedition limited compressor went out this weekend. Already replaced once few years back. But if I can DIY I would prefer to do so.
in actifry you should not put the mixer when frying chicken ?! That is what mess everything Up. I do my chicken with no mixer and its perfect. I use Tefal and that company is way much better quality than Ninja. How much money you pay for Ninja and your actifry?
Thanks for the video! Anyone researching suspension issues with this generation Expedition should definitely consider replacing the compressor even if you have replaced it before. I had a new one go bad in about 3 years. …the air springs were replaced at about the same time but still seem to be good… I kept saying that the compressor couldn’t be the problem because it had been replaced recently. But I followed this video and replaced it myself and my suspension is now 💯 If you’re inclined to tinker with things and want to be sure that the compressor is the problem first, I suggest disconnecting the air line from the compressor. Rig a test air line and connect it to a pressure gauge. I’m not sure what the pressure spec is (look it up to be sure) but I believe it is suppose to be ~135 psi. If the compressor output is 100 or below I’d recommend replacing it. There are videos on RUclips of people doing this diagnostic test with other car models. I’ll give a little more description of the failures I experienced in case anyone else is having similar problems. With any reasonable weight in the back the “check air suspension” message would come on in the dash. Usually this wouldn’t have any noticeable ride quality changes. The first sign of a major problem was going to the mountains to ski in the winter. When the temps were in the low 20s or teens the back end would drop to the stops. At first it would would easily reinflate the next time the temps got back to the 50s or warmer. Over time though it wouldn’t rebound reliably in warmer temps. In warm weather it wouldn’t drop noticeably. We had it checked by multiple mechanics. They all claimed that they couldn’t find anything wrong (no leaks, no computer codes, nothing). As time went on it eventually would drop occasionally in warmer weather when it was loaded down. I had been considering changing to coil springs for a while but then it dropped while we on a remote beach vacation. With a 10 hour drive home and no mechanics close by I decided to order a compressor and swap it myself. Fortunately I had a toolbox with me. By following this video it was an easy swap. The hardest two things were removing the headlight and removing the airline. But it all worked out well without too much effort. I’d say it was about a 45 minute job taking my time trying to ensure that everything was right. Good luck
Have an airfryer & recently picked up an Actifry, daughter has a double pan airfryer. I like to make fresh chips & the airfryer needs shaking every 5 minutes to cook more evenly, the double airfryer doesn’t cook them evenly no matter what I do. My favourite for fresh chips is the actifry, chips made with vegetable oil are OK but with beef dripping they’re on another level. Done meatballs in the actifry & they turned out great & got used in a pasta dish, given the actifry was only £20 it is a bargain.
Ninja makes an 8 quart the same function as the one you have on your counter
The 4 wt fryer wont do whole chicken
Since vortex is bigger it requires more time during to sizr
Thank you, this is really helpful :)
I have this and it never went back to preheat one you flip it you close the drawer and just press start again
Should have individually showed the sound when switched on, can't distinguish sound when both are on at the same time
If you have more to cook you have to increase the cook time. Instant makes a 9qt dual zone basket with a removable divider so you can have one big basket
Like you, I've owned an Actifry for many years and only used it for french fries. It's great for that - 24 minutes gets frozen fries perfectly done with no intervention at all from me because it also mixes them continuously. I've tried cooking meats in the Actifry a few times and, like you, I found it to be a too messy and not worth the trouble. Now I was wondering wether to upgrade to a newer air fryer and based on your video it looks like the fries would be done quicker in the air fryer than with the Actifry, presumably because of a more airtight container and less loss of heat, BUT I would have to preheat the air fryer and stop midway to give the fries a quick mix. Not sure that's necessarily better than the Actifry... But for cooking meats it looks like the air fryer is definitely a winner. Is the air fryer container airtight and does that mean less smell is released while cooking? Which of the two can cook a bigger quantity of french fries safely? Thanks
Thanks..😊😊😊😊
Thanks for this comparison, as these seemed like the 2 top performers in the price range. You can't go wrong with either, but the Instant seems like a clear winner in my eyes. Better User interface, bigger basket if needed, and the buttons and dial are WAY easier to use than the clunky buttons and arrows of the ninja. Definitely gonna be going with the instant vortex when I buy an air fryer in the future.
Double the fries takes more time. Preheat rings the unit up to temp. Instants the way to go
Looks great, functions great, and highly recommended. The buttons are touch (not pressure activated "touch"), which was a nice detail ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB Perfect size for normal every day meals, and it cooks food very thoroughly. On preset settings upon first use, it cooked my chicken breasts to a crisp. Boarder line too dry, so next time I'll either decrease temperature or time. Not a bad thing, just a minor adjustment for next time. No oil was used, so food was clean to the touch. Excited to see how other meals will turn out. Will recommend to friends and family in the future!
Thanks for the video, it looks like I’m going to need to do this on my 11 expedition. I am worried that my system might have a leak and even if I replace the compressor.
What about noise is it a big difference in sound between ninja which you mentioned is quieter? Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the video, it's nice to have a walk through of what needs to be done prior. I looked and you can actually access that bolt on the bottom from underneath. Saves a guy have to mess around with the wheel well.
You make my day
I am from canada
ok?
You are comparing apples to oranges. Of course the 6 qt. Is larger than the 4 qt. !
1:04 I agree😌
You might want to rethink your production, as for the most part all you hear is two air fryers making noise with some squeaking in the background. Not the best presentation I've seen.
I have been looking at these but geeze they seem to be extremely loud. Is this how loud they actually are or is this from the type of mike/camera being used, Thanks
Thank you for this video!
Hello, I bought my vortex of this model but the temperature goes up to a maximum of 205 degrees. I've had my vortex for 2 days and just today I started experimenting, and I made the fries frozen at 200 degrees. Can you tell me the difference the Vortex plus ? Because temperatures are different thanks
Excellent videos!!! +1 subscriber, more reviews please.
I love the sweater 👍The dogs want some chicken 🍗 I totally can’t decide which one I want 🤔
Thanks for the great upload. 👍🏻
How about the teflon on the Instapot?
Your audio is horrible I can't even hear you
The audio is not horrible, don’t be so rude. Get your hearing checked!
Thank you for this video I have this exact vortex arriving today, I'm completely new to air fryers what foods do u air fry and what foods do you roast in it please?
You need to either be nearer the camera or to speak louder. It is a bit difficult to hear you.
I increased the video playback to 1.25x
The Ninja cooked a tad faster only because there is a smaller basket. I prefer the instant vortex
I know you think your kids are cute but please don't show them on social media. The wrong eyes may be watching. You sound very naive. I'd like to have the vortex. Maybe when mine dies.
I have the Insta Pot Vortex Plus 6 QT air fryer. Today I learned a valuable lesson that might be helpful to your viewers. I was going to bake some biscuits for breakfast. I have a package of those square parchment paper inserts for air fryers and decided to use one to place my biscuits on while cooking. As you mentioned, the Vortex has to preheat first. To save time, I placed a parchment paper insert into the basket, set the time and temp and pressed Start. My air fryer started to preheat and I quickly started to detect a burning smell that got stronger as the preheat continued. When the Add Food message appeared, I pulled out the basket. When I did I noticed that the circulating fan had blown the parchment paper insert up onto the heating element because there was no food on it to hold it down. That was the cause of the burning odor I detected. There was a metal frame around the heating element that prevented the paper from coming into direct contact with it, so the paper basically singed instead of catching fire. Disaster averted and lesson learned.
Thank you for a lovely video. However, you are not really comparing the Ninja and the Vortex. You are comparing a large capacity with a smaller capacity. Ninja also comes with larger, square baskets.😊
Before people do reviews they should know how to use it. A quick read of the manual would have helped this review. If I hadn’t read or watched other reviews I would have been discouraged the fact you have to set the time and temp twice instead of setting it once and getting a reminder to flip or mix food.
The temperatures are probably not calibrated the same so in the Vortex you could just turn up the temperature.
If your life is so hectic you have to worry about a couple of minutes or watching seconds on a display, you may want to reevaluate your life.
Outstanding, thank you for this review. I bought the Vortex because of this, and love it.
i do believe the dog is hungry she is starting to pace round the kitchen.........
You are so beautiful and hot! I started to have erotic fantasies with you...
Thanks for the review. Did the dog get some fries too?! 😜
Amazing video, thank you
Leftovers matter!
The dog at 4:00 did it for me :D But thank you! I just bought a 'factory refurbished' 4qt Instant Vortex (origional/not plus) from Ollies today for $50 and wasn't sure if it was a deal or not since this is my first air fryer.. Man I am amazed with this thing! 45 minutes after I got it home I already made tater tots and even baked a cheap pot pie and it came out amazingly well!
