Sealing Coasters With Dupli Color Engine Spray Part 2
Any place we can print this information you are s howing on note cards?
I don’t have a website. I’d recommend that you try to take a screenshot with your phone. That’s usually what I do.
Best video out of so many that didn’t leave me hopeless
I’m so glad. It’s a strategy game that runs with luck. I made many mistakes when starting and was very frustrated. Keep plugging at it! If I can learn it, anyone can!
Awesome video...I'm a relative beginner but I understand the game and do alright, I'm just not ready for Vegas if you know what I mean...lol. but our group is growing and they place me with the very brand new people to assist and the card is the hardest thing for me to explain to others and this video is so perfect and thank you.
@@creecher44 I agree I think reading the card is a real challenge. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and it was helpful
Thank you for explaining the rules for using discarded tiles. I’m sure I’ll be referring back often.
I’m glad I could help.
Such a good lesson! I had my first lesson yesterday with a group, so I’m a true beginner. Your explanation of the card is excellent! And again, love your quiz to see if we’re following along.
I always like a little “check” and exercises so learning is facilitated.
@@agould105 Excited to watch your next lesson. The first 4 were fantastic!
Excellent lesson! I love how you give a quiz to see how much we’ve learned.
I have 12”x12” tiles. Any suggestions for a frame? It’s a wedding gift
You could find a 14 inch or 16 inch square of wood and paint/stain it. There are some really heavy duty glued to use. I’ve used a clear sealant to “glue” glass pieces. You’d need to attach wire on the back and it would have to be attached very well as a 12 inch square tile will be heavy. You could also go to Michael’s or Hobby Lobby and see if their framing department could frame your piece in a “floating” frame.
Where is Part 2? These are great videos but unless unless there is a Part 2 which would presumably be the set up of the game. I am really disappointed!!
I’m not sure I understand. The beginning of the video shows how to set up the game. We scramble tiles then build walls to start. I hope this helps. Please let me know specifically what you’d like info on and I’ll try to make another video.
What? Copyright infringement for the card to play the game? How do you “replay” the game?
When you buy the card you use it to play the game. I chose not to use an official card in my videos. I’m not sure I understand your second question.
Thank you for your video. I have just one question. Do you need to bake when you use the triple thick?
@@johannaramos7644 I do not bake it. I do let it cure though I would say a week. Then hand wash only.
Am new to making washi earrings. Loved how simple they are to make. Easy to follow your instructions as well. Have subscribed 💕
Thank you for subscribing. I really like making super simple crafts that end up looking very pretty.
When I tried pouring the paint to make skins they all cracked and I couldn't lift them up. I only added a little water to the paints
I’ve had really good luck with my paint recipe. I have found that when the paints crack, it’s because one layer is drying quicker than another layer. So you might want to cover whatever you have painted on with something like foil so that it doesn’t dry too quickly. If I remember right, I don’t try to peel the paint up at least for a week.
@agould105 The paint was all cracked and that was after only 48 hours. Couldn't use it as skin
I’m sorry to hear that. I’d try revamping your paint recipe and not letting the puddle dry too quickly.
I have a question... your paint puddles seem a little thick from other videos I've watched. Can the pain be spread out a little more with a spatula for the main dominant puddle?
Sure it can. I need my puddle to be thick. I think doing the skins involves a lot of experimenting.
What were your final thoughts? Was this just regular gloss I purchased a high gloss of this brand today haven’t used it yet
I still have the canvas I used this varnish on. I think it yellows over time. I prefer using Liquitex glossy and water at a 50/50 ratio. Several light coats
Is the product you use Dupli Color Engine Enamel Spray DE=1636?
I don’t know the serial number. It has a red lawnmower on the front and says “up to 500 degrees.” I bought it at O’Reilly’s Auto store. Hope this helps!
I like to decoupage napkins on tile coasters. Will this product work to make them heat resistant? Also, i wish I could have seen the front of the can you recommend. I don't want to buy the wrong product at the car store.
I don’t know about using it with decoupage I’m assuming that would work
Thank you for sharing
I would like to know where you get your long foam tubes for the vases
They are called pool noodles and they come from the Dollar Tree, a discount store in the US
I would try freeform cutouts with UV resin for these skins!
That’s not a bad idea. At the time when I was making the skin jewelry I had not started with UV resin. Now you’ve got me interested in trying it!
Oh gosh, im glad i found your channel. You are so refreshing. .the clarity of your voice, the softness & sliwness of your presentation is so wonderful. Thank you from a 75 year old who is hard of hearing.🎉❤🎉❤
Thank YOU so much!
Wow nice! Have you ever tried to put the washi tape into epoxy resin jewlry mould or use UV resin?
I’ve not used moulds with tape. I have used UV resin on Washi tape I’ve put on a wooden piece. This effect is quite lovely but difficult for me to achieve.
This RUclips video is a true blessing, turning my screen into a source of visual delight.
Thank you so much. I hope you’ll go out and get a sketchbook and start painting. It’s all about having fun and not creating something.
Love this idea, great to incorporate supplies we may have from other crafty addictions...l
Thanks for the great tips and tutorial
Happy to help!
That is so beautiful
Thanks for the video, lol about the 20…if you weren’t recording you know you’d hit 20 on the first try haha. Beautiful piece btw 🤍. What difference do you see if it’s diluted?
I like to save money. I find that when I dilute the varnish not only does the original bottle of varnish go longer, but it doesn’t appear as thick. I kind of like doing the different layers of the 50-50 split.
@@agould105 sounds like a plan to me. I’m going to take your advice, thanks so much! 🙂
I really like how that last ring of white worked with the turquoise
Glad to know I’m not the only one that messes up the resin!! Thanks for an honest video
You are very welcome. As a watcher of other RUclips artists I love it when they make a mistake and then show you how to fix it so I wanted to incorporate that in my videos as well.
SO, pretty and lots of great colors. Lots of awesome idea's for doing this type of art.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for this v ‘real’ video - v helpful 😊👍
Glad you liked it!
That is wasting your material. You actually can angle your scissors and cut around the piece.
That’s true you could angle scissors. But cutting a small square then getting to the edge worked well for me.
Love the video! Could I use this on alcohol ink covered ceramic coasters? If so, would I first varnish so ink would not run and The UV protectant so no fading and then this product? TYIA
I’m not sure. I’ve used regular clear glossy spray on alcohol ink and it does run. Perhaps you could experiment and report back?
This is a very good video. Exactly what I was looking for.
Glad it was helpful!
It does, however, say on the bottle, not to mix it with water 😕 I have a small bottle of it, along with a big bottle of gloss varnish, and that’s what I observed when I read through the instructions on the gloss one before applying it as the finishing touch on the canvas.
You’re right. On the bottle it says don’t dilute it. However I’m very pleased with my results after varnishing several coats with it mixed 50/50 with water.
Lots of good tips! Thanks so much! ❤
Do you sell more jewelry sets with your skins or separate pieces? TIA
Usually earrings alone sell better. Sometimes I’ll offer a special price on a pendant set rather than simply adding the cost of selling earrings or a pendant individually. For example if the earrings are $15 and then pendant is $10 and a buyer wants both, I have offered $20 for the set.
Hi, thank you for this video. I like how you do full on safety measures, so many don't. I also like the fact you did both front and back instead of just painting the back or leaving it as is. I do not use resin as outside is windy most days and brings sand with it, my garage lets everything in, lol! I do use other safe shiny sealants and they are also safe for my medical furbies since their smell is so sensitive. I do a lot of wire work jewelry and like to make special boxes to gift them in. I also use other items to make jewelry including wood. I like your style and will be looking forward to new items you make. Have a great week.
Thank you! It’s always best to use every safety procedure possible. UV resin is different from two-part epoxy resin but still you need to use safety measures.
Your tiles are stunning! Gonna try this! Hate resin!
Hope it works for you!
Best to use resin for a smooth glass coat.. There are dimples throughout the tiles from spraying the engine spray. I used to use engine spray to coat my alcohol inked tiles and they had the same dimple effect.
I’m not a fan of using Epoxy resin. I have health issues and small animals in my house and did not want to jeopardize their safety. Epoxy takes a lot of extra equipment in order to use it safely and I’m not in a situation to do that. I find the engine spray does not leave dimples and it seems fairly safe to use in a well ventilated area.
Very good tutorial. Awesome designs!
Thank you!
No need to bake the tile? Leaving outside in the sun to dry uncovered will have dust n such, I’m amazed yours didn’t? With your design hard to tell I guess?
I didn’t have any issues with dust or bugs. I know I can order picnic plate covers to use if needs be.
Anne, I have a designated paint brush for applying my glue/mod podge and then clean it with alcohol. You can disperse the glue evenly to the sides and get a very even coat. I also have a designated brush for my resin and I just store that in aluminum foil. Your videos are concise and to the point and you explain everything thoroughly. Thank you for not having music in the background. I find those videos hard to watch. ❤Rebecca M
Thank you for saying so and what great ideas. Yes I have issues with music on videos. Some artists I like the music is relaxing other times it’s very distracting. I have made videos with music before, but I chose not to do it for these two.
Love the colors, warm for fall , cool for winter😅🎉❤
Thank you
Could you use nail polish the same way?😂❤🎉
Do you mean swirl colored nail polish and create skins? I don’t know. Acrylic paint is basically colored glue. I’m not sure if nail polish would dry with the density needed.
Small little puddles? Worth a try. Probably depends on the brand, etc. I use Pure. Even says vegan! 😅 seems to self level each record! Ima try a lil puddle! ❤
Recoat
Is that a pool noodles inside to keep it straight? I'm really having trouble keeping mine straight and I'm getting poor results. Thank you for your videos.😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Yes. The machine came with some thing that was like a pool noodle. I make sure when I put the vase on the arm that something is inside the vase, holding it very firmly.
@agould105 Thank you so much. Thank you a million million million million gazillion times. Kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses kisses!!!!!!!!
Just what I needed. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
How do you mix your paint? And what do you use?
To make skins, you can use any paint, any acrylic paint, including apple barrel, and Craftsmart. Not my choice in painting on canvas, but because skins go under cabochon, it doesn’t really matter. I use the same recipe for everything one part paint to two parts, American floetrol, and a little bit of water.
So many ways to mix! I started with Elmer's glue and water! 😅
Love it 🥰
Thank you.
hi can I use deco art paint.ty
Yes you can. For the jewelry. For painting I’d recommend you use tube paint.
I use my paint samples for work. Even real houseplant! Prefer the stains and glosses. Use Elmer's white to thicken or water to thin depending on the flow. Tunes need floetrol, imo. But experimenting is they key to your art! ❤❤❤
Tubes. The thicker the more thinner u need. Various recipes.
this is the first time I see ur channel.very good info.i didnt know you could pour paint with out flotrol or something else in it. ty❤😊
Thank you very much. Yes, it’s all a big experiment. Depending on the brand of paint you can choose to use just water alone!
