Florida wildlife officers were their to euthanize 34 pythons which had recently became illegal to own. They then proceeded to also kill his pet python which had 30 eggs potentially worth 100k each.

I spent a large chunk of my life working with animals, including wildlife rehabbers, The Humane Society and Animal Control. On rabies... It kills any size animal within weeks. Protocol where I worked was for a 10 day quarantine first to see if they exhibited any signs of rabies infection. On squirrels... My sister raised a couple baby squirrels as a teen. Sometimes the babies fall out of the nest, especially if mama doesn't come back to feed them in a long while. They will try to adopt any possible replacement parent. Most squirrels need to be released at sexual maturity. If not, your house will have no peace. That makes P'nut very unusual. I helped a wildlife rehabber raise a baby raccoon that fell through my gma's roof. The raccoon was released at about a year old. She came back every year to have her babies where she felt safe. She would come say hi, ask for some food, show us her babies... After a couple months her and the little family would go back into the woods not to be seen again until the following year. From my position, I have a problem with the lack of due process. There should have been a follow-up hearing before a judge to determine if a law was actually broken and what the remedy should be. But in this case, some conservation officer wanted to flex as judge, jury and executioner. You see it everywhere. Lesser cops who couldn't make the cut as a real officer tend to over step their actual authority. I had a call to go pick up a couple dead raccoons in a park killed by park rangers, "Cuz they were out in daylight". They really just wanted to shoot something. They were no better than the poachers they were supposed to be protecting the animals from. You'd be shocked how little training these idiots get on the animals they are given authority over. In the case of the above mentioned raccoons... It was Spring. You know, mating season. Raccoons are very active in daylight that time of year. I chewed out their boss. He called my boss to complain. But my boss was also a registered wildlife rehabber who had a license for his 21 y/o raccoon. Lol... That conversation didn't exactly go how that idiot cop/ranger had planned. He wasn't nearly as knowledgeable about the related laws as my boss and I. When my boss retired, he said that phone conversation was the highlight of his career.

I read somewhere that they moved from Connecticut where they had all the proper paperwork to New York where they were the process of getting their paperwork and the New York State just what it did I wouldn't live in New York City or New York State if you f****** paid me to. I'm from Texas.

Had neighbors like that, animal control came to check on the vicious dogs that were reported. Only ones they found were dogs that didn't even react to their uniforms, they just licked their hands clean. Eventually they stopped responding to that guy's long-running calls about all the neighborhood animals. The agency has records showing their only intent was to euthanize the squirrel before they even arrived, they had no other plan. NY's so desperate for some proof they can still actually solve a crime, they jumped on this one.
