Hi, welcome to my channel.
I began this channel in 2020. Thinking this was going to be merely an outlet for music i'd already heard, the assumption being that there wasn't anything new for me to hear, I quickly discovered in a nano second, how wrong I actually was. This channel has been so enjoyable. I've listened to music of all genres spanning 70 years plus, and I've had so many fantastic suggestions for music from artists that I hadn't ever previously heard off. It's been mind blowing. And none of this could have been possible without my wonderful subscribers. So a massive thank you to all of you who support the channel with your fantastic input on my uploads. Long may it continue xxxxx
And finally...
A big thank you to all who have supported my channel through 'buy me a coffee' . Cheers xxx

Hi folks, my name is Gayle, and i've never until very recently mentioned my name. From somewhere, very recently i've suddenly started getting a ton of comments, most of which are removed by RUclips because of simply how abusive they are and some do get posted. I don't delete comments anymore. When I started my channel 4 years ago, I put a description that many of you may have read, but I change...

Thank you for your commentary I absolutely love this tune I was hoping that you could put it into a historical reference, but as I watch you you were as lost as I in the amazement of things that were in the past. Thank you again. Hope you are doing well.
Please stop taking during the song!
I get it's annoying, but it is a reaction, not a review x
Love your videos. Keep on keeping on. ^_^ Sorry people have been unkind. :( That's not cool... Nobody should be attacked or made to feel bad for who they are.
Look forward to more reactions! ^_^ More Steeleye Span would be great. Maybe some of their newer stuff. Lots of great things on recent albums. Beyond "Steeleye Span," try "Squirrel Nut Zippers"! They're a great Cajun / Creole inspired big band-y old-timey band. Lots of great stuff. "Hot" and "The Inevitable" are two of their best albums. :)
You might [or might not?] really like "To Be Human" from Steeleye Span's "Wintersmith" 2-disc special edition Seems kind of subtly/unsubtly relevant with its undertones of "othering," and wishing for acceptance or simply "to exist" in the world "as a human being." Though, when I first heard it, it really reminded me, kind of in spirit of "Mr. Roboto."
Be well!
Love some good Steeleye! ^_^ Maybe do some "Harvest of the Moon" or "Two Magicians." "Shaking of the Sheets," maybe a bit of "Boys of Bedlam" (compare the original more sedate traditional version to the remade "insane" version on Dodgy Bastards).
If you want a more "summer" song, try Copshawholme Fair or Barnet Fair. Or even "Summer Lady" from the recent "Wintersmith" album in collaboration with Terry Pratchet.
No sé porqué pero Ethnicolor me transporta a una especie de infierno de Dante donde la tristeza de la música y los lamentos parecen el reflejo del dolor. ( Samplers en español: Te quiero, juana te quiero.)
Scary? I'm grinning from ear to ear, sparking off the fruity chord changes as well as the lyrics...and I suffered a fair few bullies at school (I too learned the hard way that the toilets were a no-go area in both senses). Having said that, I wonder if G&C are glossing over some racially-motivated bullying here.

Kinda leaves you speachless Chester & Phill on drums based on The Last Supper, appocolps in 9/8 and the Assention at the end, I got to play this live once, on drums.
Kudos to you my friend, it was incredible and I can only imagine how it might feel to actually play this x
@@gpreactions3194 ok I screwed Apockalips a bit.
I can highly recommend checking out Susanne Sundfør on her own, she's a remarkable singer and songwriter. She has a wide catalogue with very varied music. Though her collaborations with Røyksopp are awesome as well, her solo stuff is where she shines in my opinion. I can recommend checking out both live and studio stuff, cause she will make very different live versions (often multliple different live versions) Top songs i'd check are The Brothel, Undercover, The Silicon Veil, White foxes and if you're up for a long song, Memorial :)
At the end of the song did I really hear the singer make this very, very high note? It's called a whistle sound I believe. Wow!
Nice one GP'....great appraisal ..
This is literally the first time I've ever seen anyone react to 'Part Time Love'. Elton 'retired' for a bit then came back with a different sound that many people didn't like. I liked it! I know the original so well, that I think this is the original backing track, but he's singing live - some of the - phrasing, is that the word? is different. (Actually, I listened to it twice and the backing track is different in places.) Bernie Saunders did write most of his lyrics, but I think (as a massive fan of both) that sometimes, with Bernie, Elton can fall into a bit of a pattern. When other people provide the lyrics it opens up a new style of song writing. There's another Gary Osborne composition on 'A Single Man' you should listen to - 'It Ain't Gonna Be Easy'. It's a long song, 8.27, but it's powerful and deep, and Elton's vocal is just outstanding. On the 1980 album '21 At 33', there's a terrific song with lyrics by Tom Robinson, 'Sartorial Eloquence', and one of my top 5 EJ songs with lyrics by Judy Tzuke, 'Give Me The Love'. On 'The Fox' there's a linked trio of instrumentals and songs by Elton alone, with James Newton Howard, and with Gary Osborne, called 'Carla/Etude-Fanfare-Chloe' and a beautiful little lyric by Tom Robinson called 'Elton's Song'. Of course, some of Elton's greatest success came with 'The Lion King', with lyrics by Tim Rice, previously known for doing 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and 'Evita' with Andrew Lloyd Webber. 'Circle Of Life', 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight?' are classics. But Tim and Elton also wrote a rock opera of Aida - try Elton's solo version of 'I Know The Truth'. They also did the songs for 'The Road To El Dorado', and I'll finish with two great songs from that film: (Elton's solo versions of course) 'The Panic In Me' and 'Friends Never Say Goodbye'. Sorry for all the recommends but I'm a huge fan, and I dig deep, and I really do love these non-Bernie songs.
Tim Rice first teamed up with Elton to write Legal Boys from the 1982 album Jump Up.
@@Scooterboi60 And I love that song. But I thought, I've gushed enough already!
The Guess Who had 14 Top-forty hits in the U.S. and over 30 in their native Canada.
Remember this being played so many time over many weeks that it did almost become so much like musical therapy that took you away from any worries or fears for just a few minutes and Star Wars......little did we know how big a treat we were about to experience.....for the very first time.
great album
Daft Punk and the associated band called Air have often cited this band as a huge influence on their music.
Im very lucky to be at Steven Wilsons London and Newcastle gigs early next year so it was great to hear this one, he is honestly one of the nicest and most humble in the music world.
It's Thursday😅
Yeah, I did it over the weekend 🙃
@gpreactions3194 😁
Yes friend there is a story behind this song….It’s about him struggling to be an artist back in Jamaica, but he’d couldn’t make it,but he kept trying…Not he’s one of Jamaica musical hero…In other word don’t give up on yourself ….Things also get better for him, when he was in England
Never liked the MM version. Watch the storytellers version (link below) where Bruce breaks it down and explains the lyrics. Lots of meaning in it. You will be surprised at how personal most of the verses are. Which the MM version just doesn't have. ruclips.net/video/S5Gav2Rsucg/видео.htmlsi=d8PwWaF3Cnr1fYPP
I don't remember this being a hit at the time, and I've never thought of it as a Christmas song, quite the opposite. To me it's always felt more like a song for when sunset is 10 o'clock, rather than 4.
By 'eck, Bruce Forsyth's Big Night! A notorious flop, they tried to do a two-hour variety show with lots of different bits to it, so they had musical and cabaret acts, a chat bit, games, a sitcom (The Glums, which was considered one of the more successful elements and got spun off into its own show after Big Night ended)... I mean, you could say it was a forerunner to what Noel Edmonds and Ant and Dec did more successfully and more compactly. But the show was just disjointed and basically a bit of a slog. And as LWT had shelled out a lot of money to poach Brucie from the BBC (that's why Larry Grayson took over the Generation Game... and managed the you-would-think impossible task of making it even MORE popular than it already was) it was all rather embarrassing for everyone involved.
Thanks, I had no idea about this show x
Dance is the best song over
it could have been composed today
The singer reminds me of... someone, but I can't quite figure out who. I did initially think Lorita Grahame from Colourbox but I don't think that's it. The one song I remember from Do Re Mi is "Adultery" which I thought had been a minor hit in the UK but now that I look it up, apparently not. I remember it being played on radio quite a bit but it seems nobody went out and bought it.
This song could maybe be sung by Harley Quinn, right?😄
I love this song but this is a terrible version! The proper one is here: ruclips.net/video/daH7OYqYz2s/видео.htmlsi=d7g87_nrnpUQ1eYB
lovely review
Love your exploration of early Springsteen. You love the stories he tells, and therefore I'd recommend "Incident on 57th Street" and "Zero and Blind Terry", "Meeting Across the River" "4th July Asbury Park (Sandy)" and of course the jazzy "New York City Serenade". Later he got starker and so if you like a bit more spook in his story telling off the River album there is "Point Blank", "Fade Away" "Independence Day" "Stolen Car" or off Nebraska there's the chilling "State Trooper"
Prologue was voiced by drummer Bev Bevan using a vocoder, no robot
Die hard ELO fans weren't impressed with "Time" as they thought they'd betrayed their classical routes, but if you listen closely the strings are still present; personally, I LOVE the album and consider it natural progression
This guy has more talent than any X-factor want to be could even dream about.....his live performances are astounding........... Bernie who?
Taupin, BABY! _One of the greatest lyricists of all time!
The non working non plugged in electrical guitar....often called 'The Bay City Roller Effect' :)
Later perfected by Jason Donovan, I seem to remember...
@@AlexByth Oh yes....and according to the now famous Wings of Pagasus website almost every recording vocalist on earth
Great song, and the video is a trip down memory lane. Thanks for posting and happiest of holidaze to you and yours!
Talking of Big Dish .. you should react to The Big Dish .. I recommend Prospect Street .. great 80s band I’m sure you would enjoy
𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜😊🙌💕✨
This is a great song. I like to see people react to 70's music. It was a special time.
Japan were not part of the “New Wave,” they were already doing this when New Wave happened, and were way ahead both musically & stylistically. The New Wave image was coincidentally and superficially similar but David Sylvian always disliked being associated with New Wave and they distanced themselves from it.
The song is about the Roswell Incident where a "UFO" crashed outside of Roswell, New Mexico in 1948. Google it.
A great song video to react to is 'Queen Live Aid 1985.'
I've had several blocks on Live Aid vids but to be fair i've seen the Queen set about 50 times because it was just that good. I've even got a cassette tape at home from 1985 that I recorded Live Aid on as it happened over July 13th and 14th of 1985. I actually stayed up to continue watching the US Live Aid till it finished about 4 am x
@gpreactions3194 OK thanks for your reply x
We are all shouting Bernie Taupin at the screen......:)
Bernie Saunders... what was I thinking lol
Loved your assessment of the video...I think its fair to say it probably wouldnt get made in 2024 for all sorts of reasons !
We rocked so hard at the liverpool Empire in the 70s that the seats collapsed. The quo were never invited back, but wotta nite!
That sounds like it was an awesome night x
@gpreactions3194 it was it was boss! Saw them again fourty yrs later at the liverpool Arena. I did it purely for nostalgic reasons, thinking my music likes had changed, but after those quo chords started, my knee was going and I was bopping with the rest of the oldies no seats fell this time only my trousers trying to do the quo dance shoulders side to side haha lol
