Monkey Rescue Tales
Добавлен 3 июл 2024
This channel follows my journey after I've emigrated to Indonesia and now volunteer with the Bali Monkey Rescue Team.
If you can give any donations to the sanctuary, they would be so gratefully received. They are the only primate sanctuary in Bali and are inundated with monkeys who have been rescued from a life of abuse. They rely entirely on donations and, as you can imagine, in South East Asia.. this means money is very tight.
ALL money goes direct to Bali Monkey Rescue and not a penny of it comes to or passes through myself. I am a volunteer, and so I don't make or take any money away from the foundation.
Here's the link if you are able to support our cause ❤️🐒

Buyung and Menuk are now partners 😁
Both of these monkeys had been in enclosures alone, as its so important to assess the character before pairing up monkeys. These two have now been put together and have the joy of being with another monkey. It seems to be going well ❤️ #monkey #freedom #animals #indonesia #love #wildlife #themonkeysbali #lombok

Bali Monkey Rescue Centre - Why the monkeys are in enclosures
Просмотров 562Месяц назад
Me and my daughter went to Bali to spend time at BMR last week. I absolutely loved it!! There's previously been a few comments questioning why Rescue monkeys continue to live in enclosures and Why the enclosures are not bigger. So before I post videos about the experiences I had at BMR, I wanted to first share a video which I hope goes some way to explain this. #indonesia #monkey #freedom #anim...
Disclaimer.. this isn't a monkey!!!!This is a cat who I found who is now my family pet.

I've debated putting this video on as it isn't a monkey, and I don't want to come across as someone who just posts for the sake of posting and getting likes.. But this cats story is brutal... and I'll be honest... I am proud I've given him the treatment he needs and a forever loving home. So why not share that with fellow animal lovers. Duke is now a permanent resident and I'm so happy 😊 🥰 I ho...
Why the diapers on baby Lolly? Hopefully, this helps to explain things

The subject of Lolly wearing diapers has come up a few times in the comments. And I get it! So I think it's a subject that deserves its own video, with what I hope is a clear explanation as to why she's wearing them. Of course, you can let me know your thoughts in the comments. ❤️🐒

I wanted to take a moment to showcase how life should be for all the macaques here in this part of the world. A life with freedom, and without cruelty and suffering. #indonesia #monkey #babymonkey #freedom #animals #love #macaque

How can I reach out to you? Ive had dreams of moving out there for years to do the exact same thing, but just never knew where to start. -Rich
@hhhhhh5610 hi rich. Why don't you send me a message on Instagram.. its the same name as I will help if I can 😊😊
Can i join you? But I'm in Wisconsin prison right now
This is a great story! God bless and thanks for sharing your story and heart for monkeys in need.❤
Get with RUclips and have them pull down all the accounts where they are being abused.
MONKEY POX , AIDS, TURBERCULOSIS, HEPATITIS, LASSA, EBOLA, SALMONELLAS, RABIES, MARBURG, LEPROSIS Get rid of that!!
❤ prayers to keep you all healthy and safe as you help these beautiful animals ❤
Monkeys aren’t killed there to “take the baby”. They are actually considered pests on plantations and are hunted. Long tailed macaques cause incredible amounts of damage and property loss for people who grow crops to survive. When they find infants, they pretty much become toys for children. They call these monkeys “tree rats” for good reason. There are so many animals there you can rescue that are endangered as long tailed macaques are all over and considered pests by most humans who deal with them. I recommend you focus your efforts on an issue that actually need help as you aren’t going to get a whole lot of community support rescuing tree rats.
Are they ever returned to the wild?
Camera moving to fast, giving me a headache *******
@triepope6429 sorry. I'm still working on my camera skills 🙈
She’s GORGEOUS! Looks like she has eyeliner on her eyes, so beautiful! I bet having a baby to look after does help her and give her life more purpose - female monkeys just want to be Mommas (usually!).
@LaurenWoz421 absolutely!!! Although as a friend of mine joked.. "mama looks like she needs a coffee now" 🤣🤣
Stories like this are so important to tell. We all need to hear any positive and uplifting developments for encouragement to keep up the good fight. I'm so happy for Buyung and Menuk and grateful to those who worked to make it happen. Thanks!
@marcia5050 ahh thank you. I want to head back to Bali again soon so I can do more detailed videos on each of the monkeys there.. their back story, progress etc. Because right now I've not been called to any rescues so it seems a good time to focus on the guys who have already been removed and highlight their stories 😀
@@Monkey_Rescue_Tales Yes, please do that!
So glad that they have each other
@@AC-zk3pi me too 😀😀
They are finally learning how to be monkeys. It is a huge step. ❤
@elainewalls1965 absolutely. And when you think how they have been forced to live in isolation for so many years, which goes against all of their natural instincts, it really is wonderful to see them bonding and socializing ❤️
@@Monkey_Rescue_Tales It is heartwarming to see so many good things coming from Bali. Thank you! ❤️🐒
WOW..ITS DEVASTATING THAT HUMANS CAN ACTUALLY TREAT THESE BEAUTIFUL CREATURES AS IF THEY ARE SIMPLY A RODENT. ITS BARBARIC. SHAME ON THEM.!!! LOVE YOUR STORIES... I WANT/NEED MORE...LOL 😂❤
@melaniejackson8187 ahh thanks so much for your support! It's a little tricky right now to make videos because there's no cases I'm working on, and my daughter is too scared to go back to Bali to the rescue centre. But.. I'm hoping my partner can watch her for a few days so I can go back and make more detailed videos on all the monkeys who have been freed from abuse.. their baclstory and progress! 😀
You are a true angel to these monkeys 🐒 it makes me think things can be changed for the better in Indonesia 🙏🏼😊
@SquirrellyGirl24 I really hope so.. although it's a very long road until that happens. The abuse of monkeys is, I believe far worse in the big cities like Java and jakarta so definitely have a way to go until things change. But as people, we can just try to help where we can ☺️🙏
That’s great they were able to be paired together. As a highly social species the isolation alone is detrimental so the fact they have each other now will go great lengths toward their healing - won’t cure their trauma entirely but it’s definitely a huge help. Also the fact that Buyung was reciprocating by grooming Menuk after Menuk finished grooming him, that’s wonderful to see. 😊 Reciprocatal grooming is a vital key behavior of virtually every primate species. In long tail macaques, grooming is the 4th most time invested behavior after eating, sleeping, and walking. It is a key social behavior - it’s how they form social bonds, how they form alliances, court mates, reconcile after fights, deescalate fights from happening, how they show respect to higher ranked monkeys, how they comfort each other, how they reassure their young when their offspring get scared or nervous. It’s great to see them relaxed in each others company and grooming and bonding. It’s sad how they came to be here, but they are in much better place and are able to be their monkey selves again and in time hopefully join a troop. 😎🐒🐒
@@neptunusrex5195 I genuinely love your responses. Thank you so much ❤️
Look at their interaction. They get to be monkeys. Hooray for them.
@anastashanastashkina7402 well a lot of people made comments about it and weren't happy with her wearing them. So that's why I wanted to make a video to explain ☺️
Не знаю как по поводу отлова, насколько я вижу, их много бегает по паркам покинутые своими матерями или сбитыми на дороге
I'm thankful for the people willing to work at rehabilitating these beautiful monkeys. ❤🙏
@lynnie77712 thank you so much for your words and support ❤️
What wonderful work you are doing. May God bless you ❤
@@jeansalim3405 thank you so much. I appreciate it 💗
Look how you care for them. I salute you for same. Can you show ENV centre in Vietnam how you look after your monkeys. They treat them terribly.
@carmelrankin9362 oh really?? Is it a rescue centre?
I hate to see them caged. They are active and need more space. I am happy you put them back in the wild.
@JoJoLovesCats we do, but please also know that they need rehabilitation which is done in enclosures as its not as simple as just releasing them. They have zero survival skills having been pulled from their monkey families as babies 😢
😂😂
Not true they make great life long companions
@@jonlewis758 I have to politely but strongly disagree with you here
Primates are not pets!
Hoooray!! Thank You for saving that poor baby.
@christineanderson4643 thank you. And thank you for your support 🙏
I deeply admire people that are genuine and honest in their care for adult and baby monkeys that somehow turn up in need of care. There's far, far too many con artists out there who kill the mothers to get the babies to make videos of and make money with no regard for the welfare of the baby. It's hard these days to discern the difference but this lady seems legit.
@ran44dolf thank you. I lmow it's hard to tell genuine videos from the staged ones which are abusive and I'm really trying to be mindful of this in the videos I make. It's hard to know how to show that I'm not one of those. I suppose one thing is, I don't have loads and loads of rescue videos... because I'm not setting them up for content. I've done 2, there's no more at the moment so there's no content. Should I become involved in another I'll film it, but I'm sure as hell not creating a situation that isn't already happening just to make a video. Hopefully others see I'm legit too 🙏🙏
Sincerely appreciate your passion and commitment! Would love to volunteer! Any info would be appreciated...❤
@porkkchop hi! Yes Bali Monkey Rescue take on volunteers readily! If you Google the centre you can send them a message and get something set up for sure 😁
This is truly the best video that i have seen. These babies are precious.
@@elizabethshelton7380 thanks so much for your kind words and support
This is awesome.. A beautiful family 💝💝💝
Then stop glorifying it
I'm sure all the impoverished people in the local village are thrilled to have a privileged western karen around to publicly shame them.
@yankeetherebel Although I sort of see your point, I'm not sure if you live here and so see the situation through the same eyes. Regardless of poverty, and regardless of cultural norms, it doesn't make animal abuse acceptable. The monkeys in these videos did not generate an income for the people who had her (not that I support this either). They are there for status and entertainment only. Removing these monkeys has done nothing detrimental to the person who took them from the wild.. nothing at all. Trying to educate local people on how to better treat animals in SE Asia is not a bad thing.. I work with local people who do this.. not just "privileged white people" as you put it
@@Monkey_Rescue_Tales Are you equally as bothered by the treatment of rats in NYC? In countries where macaques are native, they're typically seen (by locals) in the same way New Yorkers see rats... yet I don't see anyone whining about people using rat traps in NYC. If people living in poverty have found a way to improve their lives by using local "rats", then so be it. Westerners (most of whom support women killing their own infants for convenience sake) are definitely not in a position to judge anyone.
Omg!! 3 flipping years!?!? That is absolutely horrible. Thank god for you saving her. She will love you forever. ❤
Very precious 💕

Thank you for making these truthful statements. I've always said that it is cruel to capture, and then try and tame monkeys. They are animals of the wild.

Thank you for continuing to explain why “pet monkey” should not be a thing.
