In the video you hear a new Model 2 siren at the fire station I was at, as well as a 3T22 in the distance running the attack signal. I just put a new controller on the Model 2 and tested the system to ensure total functionality. Hope you enjoy!

Finally got my hands on one of these bad boys! After some parts swapping and a a lengthy phone call to @thunderbolt10031 (Tyler) I got it up and running! The MC is probably one of my favorite electronic siren controllers Federal Signal ever made mainly because of its iconic look, and it’s awesome cabinet setup! Hope you enjoyed the video!

STH-10B Siren Motor Torture!

This thing has seen the greener pastures. The bearings see wrecked and commutator has seen better days. It was replaced in the early 2000’s after tripping the motor overload for numerous monthly tests. I do intend on fixing it, but not before I had some fun with it. Enjoy The Video!

I live in crossville,TN and honestly we need sirens there Fairfield Owns 5 and they stopped using them cause the system is old but I hope one day one siren company that fixes old sirens can convince Cumberland county to add sirens in the town of crossville and keep Fairfield’s cause where a tourist county and most are not on there phones

I've always wondered how Whelen digital controllers work. Is it an audio file it plays or something?
It’s actually a tone generator circuit you can re-create this with a whelen amp and arduino.

@@HSETM all the electronic siren controllers have some sort of tone generator. The 2020 and 2030 are programmable it’s pretty much a full wave square wave generator. The voice capable 2020 and 2030 controllers you can load pre recorded messages on it.

I can assure you it’s a 3T22. We maintain this system.
Those single phase electric motors weren’t exactly reliable anyway due to the fact they needed frequent maintenance and inspection.
