Thank you, this was mind opening! Do you have a video on how to connect wifi switches that to the Logo PLC. There are a lot of devices with ZigBee and just wifi connection to cell phones and apps like Tuya. Is it possible to connect these? Also do you have anything on rs485 to ethernet connections on the Logo. There are inexpensive ethernet to rs485 devices that would be very useful to connect to the logo.
@@safaritooncesrv7946 thanls for watching. LOGO and industrial PLCs don't natively suppory Zigbee. if you want to connect a Zignee device to LOGO, you will need a middle software. You may use Homeassistant as the middle software and I have a video to showcase this application. You could also use Zignee2Mqtt to convert Zigbee to MQTT which is understandable for LOGO. I'm crrating a whole tutorial series for LOGO. The first video is already available. Make sire you follow that if you want to learn Modbus, RS485, etc. In LOGO!
Hi, thank you for the video, How do I make my PLC send multiple data to multiple topics at the same time?
@郑凯瑟琳 thanks for watching. If you want to send multiple data at the exact same time, you need to add multiple FB instances. Otherwise, you may change the data variables and send them in a periodic way. Also, it's easier to send data in diffefent format and data types with OPC UA PubSub over MQTT instead of flat MQTT. Can a logo 8.4 connect to wifi directly or does it need an ethernet connection to go online?
@@AmbarBWeberG hi. LOGO has Ethernet port not wifi. For security reasons, industrial controllers normally don't have an integrated wifi module. But if wifi connectivity is needed, a separate wifi module can be used and LOGO can connect to the mentioned module via cable. There are many of them in the market. Siemens also has variety of Wifi client modules
nice video is it possible that you share the code for the pyton project thank you
The Logo Digital output (Dry contact) end device has Digital input GND and positive. Can I connect them directly to those ports? Basically, all it needs is a Jumper to activate the device.(manually these inputs will require a link between “G” (GND) and the digital input to be activated)
@@Indrajithmeghanada you don't need any GND or power to activate the relay output. If you command to set Q1 (relay type), the relay will be switch ON.
I advice not to use the 4" MTP400 it is tiny and it is very uncomfotable to type on onscreen keyboard. Go at least for the 7" one.
Agreed. 4" is too small and should be avoided if there are several object on the screen as it gets cluttered quickly. But it has its own use case for some projects.
Is this feasible also on Logo 8.3 using the LogoSoft Comfort V8.4?
@@florianosabatini4016 unfortunately, not possible. MQTT is available as of V8.4 hardware
This looks cool!
Thanks for watching.
At last after watching your videos a couple of times and reading a lot of forums I managed to connect to my broker. I was struggling because Logo Soft Comfort gave me constantly an error message, because it was unable to connect. I was looking for a "Client ID" but you just can fill that in with something you want. Now I get it. On to the next part, make Home Assistant work together with the Logo ;) Edit: The strange thing is that I don't see a value in the "Cloud Data Transfer Settings" it's empty.
Awesome! Hipe you enjoy using your new LOGO. Let me know if you come up with any questions on the way
Can two clients work simultaneously within one program block? I would like one client to constantly subscribe to a topic, while the other one would send information from time to time, without interrupting the subscription of the first client.
@@kacperkubacki2951 absolutely. Each client block needs to have a unique ID and they can work independently.

@@TanapongPonghanat hi. One of the main reasosn that the communication doesn't work is the date and time in PLC and HMI are not properly set. Please double check the time on both sides.

Hello, i have this problem with my s7-1513-1 pn and s210, that when compiling it shows "S7-1500/ET200MP station_1" error. What could possibly be wrong?
Hi, Do you have any ET200MP added to your project or tou have a 1513 and a S210 only?
Hey :) How can I project several users with already activiated RFID access in TIA V19? I tried copying my rfid-tag UID nummer as password in the user list but it didn't worked... There is no way that you have to assign every single RFID-tag by hand for every user.
Nice video! I can't get it to work -- I created cloud data transfer settings and published: { "state": { "M7": { "value": [ 1 ] } } } returns: SiemensLogo1Pub {"state":{"desired":{"M7":null}}} Instead of: SiemensLogo1Pub {"state":{"desired":{"M7":[1]}}} Any idea what might be going on?
Aah I see this is also returned in your case.... something else might be going on
Yeah, all seems to be fine. What I am guessing is that the program that is active overrides the value change. I have M7 connected to the power bar (ladder diagram) and I have a break contact that I want to control. I do not see a way to control M7 without having the coil connected to some output. Any clues how to go about it?
@seattledutch so I undsrstand well, you want to control M7 over MQTT and locally from the logic? If not, you don't need to connect M7 to any coil. I would write my logic so that a dedicated memory area is allocated to data receiving from MQTT and use them in parallel or series in my logic. I'm curious what logic are you trying to implement?
@ correct, I want to add a break-contact switch so I can disable a certain circuit. However my ladder diagram doesn’t allow me to add a M7 switch unless I add an M7 coil.
@@blociot I finally solved it. I used a network input block and communicate the state through VM, and set it through MQTT. The switch is then used to disable a circuit by putting it in line with a health status marker as a NC which is opened when the kill switch is set to 1.
thank you for your tutorial, after following your instruction i found error 16#8200, cant you tell how to fix this error ?

I want my PLC to subscribe to about 200 topics, what would be the best way to ralize that?
You can easily do it by changing the tags containing the topics name in a loop or in a sequence. Are they all in the same broker?
Should MQTT communication work on PLCSIM v16? When trying to run it I get error 16#8601 regarding TCON 😟
Hi@@kacperkubacki2951 . Unfortunately, PLCSim only supports local communications. For external communications, you can use PLCSim advanced which requires a license.
I successfully connected my LOGO to HA using your video as a guide. Thank you! The sad part is that LOGO is sending each value in the same topic, which causes errors in logs, for example, if you have two inputs and you change the first one, then for second you will get an error: ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.helpers.template] Error parsing value: 'dict object' has no attribute 'I2' (value: {"state":{"reported":{"$logotime":1729768804}}}, template: {{ value_json['state']['reported']['I2']['value'][0] }}). Any ideas on how to solve this?
Greta to hear the tutorial was useful. I didn't understand what do you mean by "when you change the first one...". Would you be able to explain more? If you want to access two analog inputs for example, first, you need to make sure the inputs are included in the transfer data area in the LOGO software. Once they are added, their value will be published to the topic as an JSON element. Here is an example, how you can access two analog inputs as two different MQTT sensors in HA: - name: LOGO Analog Input 1 state_topic: "logo/pub" value_template: "{{ value_json['state']['reported']['AI1']['value'][0] }}" - name: LOGO Analog Input 2 state_topic: "logo/pub" value_template: "{{ value_json['state']['reported']['AI2']['value'][0] }}" From the error message, it looks like I2 doesn't exists in your JSON payload that LOGO is publishing to your broker.
Thank you so much for creating videos about Logo and Home Assistant communication. This was a problem, I tried ModBus but had no success. I'm waiting for Logo 8.4 and will try your approach. Two-way communication is missing - the state_topic is required, but the payload is different for pub and sub, so an example of two-way communication for digital and analog input would be great.
Can I use MQTT function blocks with the Logo 8.4?
Do you mean connecting a S7 PLC to a LOGO over MQTT, or using MQTT in LOGO v8.4? You can certainly use MQTT in LOGO v8.4. We have a few videos on how to do it on the channel. Here is one of them: ruclips.net/video/0joaGr4Ssio/видео.htmlsi=WbXyX2nnSu3z2s7T If you need to connect a S7 PLC to a LOGO over MQTT, you need to do some data handling at the broker side because both S7 PLCs and LOGO require a topic payload in a certain format. So you can't directly publish a payload to a topic and receive it from an S7 PLC and vice versa. But with data manipulation at the broker, you can.
@blociot Thank you, watched it but it seems publishing is limited to predefined topics, correct? I can not seen to publish a topic from a schematic.
@@seattledutch There is no instruction or block in the schematic for publishing to a topic. The procedure is two topic names should be defined for publish and subscribe in the LOGO MQTT configuration. Then a memory area is dedicated for publishing and subscribing to messages. All you need to do in the schematics is to transfer the desired value to the dedicated memory are. For example VW1 or AI1. This makes it easy to work with MQTT, but I would also like to see an instruction where we can define the topic name and the use it in the schematics. Maybe Siemens will add it in the future releases...
@@blociot Thank you! This is very helpful! Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and your helpful videos. I’m a software developer veteran but new to PLCs and this helps a lot.
Hi, Thanks for the great video, this was really helpful. Is there any way to log data that is received in the web editor? for example: If a thermocouple was connected to the LOGO via analogue in, could the data be logged over time using web editor rather than the SD card slot?
@@Mark-n4q3m thabks for your feedback, Mark. This is a feature that I wish existed. Currently, the LWE is limited and can't act as a datalogger. But I know the new LOGO supports downloading the log files from SD card in Run mode. I have not tried ot but it could be possible to download the log files from the web interface. I'll try it out and will update you.
@@blociot Thanks for replying, this sounds like a possible solution. My ultimate scenario is multiple PLC's/LOGO's controlling equipment, gathering data from thermocouples/pressure sensors/voltage monitors etc and exporting live to an Excel platform wirelessly. Could be a challenge with my limited knowledge.
@@Mark-n4q3m anytime. For your application, I think this video should be very interesting: ruclips.net/video/0fKBFmFBWQ4/видео.htmlsi=OXvf1YmBGMaX3jdm It needs a bit more effort, but you can easily use MQTT in new LOGOs to send data to a MQTT broker and log your data to a database like InfluxDB instead of Excel.
