Genius
I let my loader do the work. One-man operation.
😂😂 yes please. That would be way better.
This is such a great share! Love hearing this🎉🎉🎉
When my grandfather started out (electrician) there was a lot of local prejudice against Germans (unsurprisingly, given the time) and he found only one local supplier who would work with him. My dad stuck with them. When my dad retired and I took over the business, I was a bit concerned because the new generation at that store was very clearly not in favor of women in the trades, much less being masters. Switched to a 'new' local supplier - they'd only been in business since the 1950s - and have the same great relationship you have. I'm true to them, they're true to me and it makes for happy customers and profits all around. Gosh, it's going on 40 years, now.... You need somebody who thinks your customers' needs are important as a partner.
You should put the housse building song in red ded II 😂
I love tiny-house living! I want to build a family compound so to speak so I can watch my grandchildren grow up!
You can do it!
Did you do the plumbing yourself?
Outside sewer and water. Then my pro plumbers come in.
Why not just use Wall Jack's instead of someone or more getting hurt , event if u just use them to help, we sheet and paper our walls first too
Yes, we need to get some wall jacks.
How many guys does it take to do the math. If that wall is 4000 lbs then It must be made out of steel. Take the weight of 1ft 2x6 or 2x4 and multiply it by the linear board feet in that wall. Do the same by weighing a nail and multiply by the number of nails. Add it all up and that’s the weight of the wall before you get Frank the Fibber into the equation. 😅. Besides, you guys should be building bridges not walls. 😮
Thanks Larry!
Not a fucking chance that wall is 4,000lbs.
If even each 2x6 was a hundred pounds each you would still be nowhere near 4k.
Its close
Raised a barn on Monday, and soon I’ll raise anodder
Nice!
Not 2 tons
What is your guess? Based on what?
Get some wall jacks they are cheap and work
Yes, we need some jacks.
4000 lbs? Really? I would guess 1000-1500
Yes, after all the shade I got I did some math. Prob closer to 2800lbs
😂ahaha yeah okay clown 4000 lbs
And that wall has no sheeting 🤣
Do you like to nail your panels on the ground?
That shit is not 4000 pounds your crew is just ass
Five guys at most 1200 lb and you're not picking all of it up.
Estimate 25lbs per board x 25 boards. Yeah yeah 5000 lbs... And here I was thinking you did math for a living. Lol
Its super wet doug fir, all top loaded. I can deadlift 250lbs and this was way harder of a lift. 😅😅
@@ThatADUGuyso you came to the conclusion that you each lifted 800 pounds?😂
@@RuggleG no, we pryed it up on blocks so never lifted more than 40-45% of the load.
Meanwhile them Mexicans are laughing at you. After building a house and mowing their grass.
There are smarter ways. I could have built that wall alone and not needed the muscle to stand it. But y’all keep the harder not smarter approach 👍
There is always a better way. Thanks for the input. Im always open the learn. Please explain or send over a video. We build these all the time and want to improve.
800lbs per guy????
No figured we had 45% of the weight at pickup, then less as we stood it up.😅
You are missing about 8 to 10 Mexicans and a cooler full of Modelo
Just a mix of culture and race is this lift.
@@ThatADUGuy Yeah, but there's no modelo's or amigos.
😂 his scale is off by about 3500 lbs
What is your take on weight and how did you come to that number? Asking for me, not a friend 😅
Weight of a 2x4 x the amount you used. Plus the weight of sheathing.
@@MrTimequake all 2x6, 6x6 and 4x10
No. It's not 4000lbs
Super wet GDF. What is your guess?
@@ThatADUGuy1500 lbs!
Felt like way more!@@seonggkim
What market are you in?
Nice job on creating a tree protection zone. Most people don't realize that if you drive heavy equipment over the root ball enough that you will push all the oxygen out of the soil and then the tree will become stressed and could possibly die.
Hi there! Yes, propper tree protection is key.
So cool to see all of the code intricacies your area has. Also I bet you were sweating when that sewer line was tied in under the cable and phone conduit! Great video as always.
Thanks for the good feedback! Yes, it was a pain in the neck, but lucky we were about to make grade under the cities lines.
Awesome video Derek. Thanks again for all your help and support in the ADU community!
You bet! I enjoy sharing the process.
Excited for this new series! Really appreciate you putting out such quality content!
Glad you enjoy it!
Could you be careful with your trench excavations? The tie-in at the street looked a little deep. 5' or more in-depth and talk with your excavator and find out about their safety requirements. Be safe.
Thank you!
Wow..one of the best channels!! Great video brother
Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
Clear it is
Always measure the elevation of your outlets to ensure the backsplash doesn't hit the outlet. I personally prefer ripping down the splash to clear the outlet and also ripping the adjacent splashes to the same height. To me, notching the splash is not as clean of a look
Good feedback, thank you.
30 years and he's not the boss I bet he's done plenty of weekends side hustles
Yes, im sure he could name his price every weekend he wanted to work.
I heard the white pipe is fire rated and has better sound restriction as opposed to the black pipe.
Great info, i will look into that.
30 years and hasn't started a business yet?
He goes on to many vacations!!
Tell them now is the time
For sure!
In 2021 I got into the trades. Started at $16 and as of last fall, was at $28. Best decision I ever made
@@patrickhill5630🎉🎉 great to hear this, congrats!
Just just gets it from point a to point B really what u wanna hear when ur talking about plumbing
😂😂 Could not agree more!
We use KILZ
Love that stuff, i use blue label
@@ThatADUGuy yeah we love it too we just sanded and sprayed all the studs 5feet from floor whole house 2766 sqft with Kilz & Mold Control
Great idea and video. Do you have any recommendations for a comfortable width? I can imagine the wider the ladder the more flex you get in each step.
Thank you! 18" clear opening is what we use.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD. (Psalms 14:1-4)
Do you get your properties off market or off the MLS?
Both, but mostly off market.
This town looks quiet, where in Oregon did you manage to find that?
This is in Talent, OR
Metabo teco guns are trash. Get bostitch a much better gun , the one you have give it a slight angle and it don’t shoot
This is an old but good one.
I use palm nailers. Saves the fingers.
Those are great too!🎉
I always thought they are so good with framing gun that they can align it with the holes. Thanks for this info 👍
That is an option
its actually a metal strap gun. however they are commonly called a teeco gun in the trade. they come in 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 theyre not $500.
Thanks for the feedback. We call them teco guns out west. The industy name out here in metal conector nailer. They good ones are $400 (air) - $800 (battery)
