Luke It Up
Добавлен 10 ноя 2024
Hey, I'm Luke, a 45-year-old, Australian ex-coal miner who traded his hard hat for a camera.
After spending 20 years underground (literally), I decided it was time to dig for something different - my dreams.
Zero tech skills, maximum determination, and a whole lot of awkward moments to share.
Hope you'll join this old miner's journey to proving age is just a number.

We're diving into the stories of:

All I got from this is now I want whatever you're eating. Hell that looks tasty and the "crunch, crunch," chewing sounds made it worse.

History is full of people who proved that you're never too old to accomplish something. Most of us self-sabotage by telling ourselves we're just too old to do something. Hearing all of these stories should prove that you can do anything you want. If you really want to.
@@storiesfromearth-jd58 there are more people who become successful later in life then ones who hit big early on in life. Somewhere along the way some of us forgot that.
You rock! What a transformation from your first video! I truly admire your talent, work and dedication! Looking forward to seeing more! 💕
@@sallydsreality283 Thank you Sally. It’s all what you said. Bar talent. I just work with I got. Doing small things daily moves the needle in the right direction. As you can see the challenge is working.
It took a lot of guts to put yourself out there. I have been thinking of starting a channel for a while now and maybe I can just start already. Bravo for being real - you never know what you may inspire in others!! ☺️
@@LotusGrl4791 thank you.My next video which comes out on Monday will be of importance if you’re thinking of starting. It’s all about how I went about starting.
Ah great! I will definitely check it out. I found you on Threads btw from a post in my feed! So keep posting. It’s working. 😊
@ thank you for saying. I recognized your profile picture. I’ll keep on posting for sure
Great video Luke, You should read the book about Ray Croc - it's called 'Grinding it out' I loved the Harlan Sanders story. I talked about him in one of my videos a while back.
@@JamesMurphyYT I’ll check out that book Grinding it out. Sounds like up my alley. The colonial is my man. Back home in Australia I loved the zinger burger but here in Cyprus it’s not so good. I’ll always have memories 😊
It's very inspirational - if they can do it, why can't we? Just grab those opportunities, do your best, and don't give up.
@@TheOddEarth-Show yeah that’s the way to look at it. Do your best. Don’t give up & grab the opportunities when they come
I am 42 and i love it when someone says: "age is just a number".😅 All the stories are exceptional, i really cant chose just one.
@@oananan180 yeah some good one there. I think I made mine pretty clear
Tell me honestly: Which of these success stories shocked you the most? And did it change how you think about "perfect timing"? 🤔
@@LukeItUp for me each did in its own way. Thinking about it, I wouldn’t be who I am now, if it had not been for who I was. In other words, it is actually my age that… in my opinion, makes my thoughts valuable. I thinking culturally we have forgotten this. It’s all about “youth” and little on embracing your age.
@ yeah it’s something we tend to overlook a lot. We are right where we are meant to be. Once we brace this thought we will be doing better
I needed to hear this today, I am having "midlife crisis" thrown at me lately myself.
@@PerspectiveDepth-c5y Thank you for sharing that-it means a lot to know this resonated with you. Honestly, I’m in no position to give advice on this because I’m still figuring things out myself. Life crises are tough-I’ve had my share of those ‘lost’ moments too. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that those moments often hold the seeds of a fresh start. Be kind to yourself, take it one step at a time, and know that even feeling this way means you’re already on the path to something new. And hey, if this video helped even a little, it means you’re already moving forward. You’ve got this, and I’m rooting for you.
100%👊🏻😁

@LukeItUp I'm studying digital/affiliate marketing. My goal is to turn this into a business in the next month or so.
@ wish you best of luck in this endeavor.
Outstanding video
@@thevideoroom9979 thank you very much much. I didn’t think the same. But when the people speak. I hear them
The fact RUclips is recommending your video to me means you're doing something right. The algorithm has chosen you so keep pumping content and go all in if this is what you really want.
@@drewmorg. that’s so cool that it’s being recommended and it’s showing up on your feed. Not that I was going to stop but this is cool
I agree, it’s much harder than I thought too! But, you’re doing great! “Writing like a character I want to be” is a sentiment that resonates with me more than you know!
@@PerspectiveDepth-c5y glad to hear I’m not the only one. Thanks for dropping by to cheer up my day

I Follow you on Threads! I'm in the same spot so seeing you articulating the same feelings i have is refreshing and encouraging! Thank you!
@@steegar thank you for coming over to see me on the channel. Is better to see/ hear me? You’re not alone 😉
After using what exactly?? Your video title is affirmations don't work, but you hashtagged affirmations, journaling, and personal growth.. So what exactly is it that has worked for you after using it only a month??
Yes I did and there is a reason for that. But let's not get bogged down in details of using hashtags and titles. We could be here all day and night. I can't say in the comments section what it is. It's like the dentist ad where they can't show his face. But it's hidden in plain sight.
Nobody cares how old a YT content creator is as long as they are creating quality content that they find interesting I have found. Good Luck!
@@STONESGAM I agree but for those who feel they’re too old start? Would they find a video like this helpful or inspiring?
@@LukeItUp Yes, they likely would!
This is the closest thing to social media that I use. I did the facebook thing for a while after MySpace & hated it the whole time. Sometimes I feel like the only GenX that realizes how bad social media has been for society

@@BHarr-o7f thanks for suggestion. :)
I love the way you speak to camera - Your authenticity shines through. Doing a script can take away from that...I know, I did it. Have you tried just writing bulletpoints and working from there? I think that could help with your presenting style. The couple of videos of yours I've seen, your sincerity shines through and that's what a lot of people want to see. Try just talking to camera for 5 minutes everyday - give yourself a topic to talk about, make the video and save or delete...you don't have to publish, but doing it everyday will help you get more comfortable. Good luck! If I can do it in my 60s, so can you. You're doing great! Don't beat yourself up!
@@JamesMurphyYT thanks for the tips. They will come in handy moving forward. I’m working out what feels best for me. I see your channel is a year old. How long did it take for you to get comfortable talking to a camera?
@LukeItUp Early this summer when I stopped using scripts and started using bulletpoints. It gave me the freedom to speak as me. That's why I think it will work for you.
@@JamesMurphyYT thank you for the good ideas

Thank you again Luke. What you're teaching me is that it really is relatability that I am looking for in learning, but also in the content I consume. I'm a few steps behind you and each time I see you, you're moving it forward. Not only do I get to share the same struggles, I also get to see you get over them. And because I can see and relate to you, it makes sense I could do it too. I think because we grew up with polished old school media, we hold ourself to that standard, but this is a totally new thing, this real media. Cheers mate
@@ArisingFromStillness Good on for keeping on keeping. Mate I’m just doing my best to improve each day. It’s been a struggle. It’s a learning curve. A steep one at that. Wow, Luke! I can already see you are more comfortable in front of the camera. This was a great video. Will be back for the next one.
Thank you, been practicing daily, with shorts. I'm feeling about 4% more comfortable :)

Another awesome video Luke and so spot on. I have these same issues of consuming when I should be producing. Sometimes it's in the name of "research" or "learning", but that could be just a convenient excuse to procrastinate.

I love your advice. Your insights. Some of the things you say echo the voices I hear in my own head. I was a ghost writer for years and a computer geek.
