    Really enjoyed the video. I thought you were going to explain at the end how the load is controlled. My question is I know we need a higher compressor output pressure on a hot day because when need to be able to have the outside air condense the vapor so it needs to be at a higher pressure to allow that to happen. What "controls" the compressor output pressure?

    • @aircondlounge
      @aircondlounge 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for your question. There’s nothing that controls the compressor output pressure. On a hot day, the heat rejection rate reduces which causes the system to naturally operate at a higher pressure. The air conditioner will continue to operate as long as it is within the design range. However, if the temperature sensor at the compressor discharge line detects a temperature exceed the design threshold, the electronic control board will slow down the compressor which will prevent the pressure from going overboard.

    • @mhrussell1
      @mhrussell1 2 месяца назад

      @@aircondlounge I guess that still does not quite answer my question, I think. What is the feedback mechanism that causes the pressure to rise as the outside temperature increases? It seems at first that there would be less subcooling. What does that cause? Less flow through the TXV? Or something else?

    1 Ton of cooling was based on 24 hour period (one ton of ice melting) and this is 12,000 BTU/Hour for 24 hours - Equivalent total Heat Energy Transfer. It takes one ton of heat to remove 288,000 Btus from the air in a day. That's the amount of Btus that must be removed to melt one ton of ice over 24 hours. Thus, a one-ton AC unit would be rated 12,000 Btus per hour.

So perhaps if you make a series of retrofitting and modernizing old systems to be more energy efficient that'd be helpful. • @aircondlounge

      @@aircondloungeso that means each duct that connects each room must have a VAV?

    • @aircondlounge
      @aircondlounge 4 месяца назад

      @alexekwueme7477 It depends. If each room needs about 1500 CFM, then it is likely that every room needs a VAV box. Otherwise, 2-4 rooms can share one VAV box. Each room will then rely on the radial or OBD on their diffuser to adjust to their required airflow (eg: 150, 250, 700, etc.). If multiple rooms are sharing one VAV box and each room diffuser doesn’t have volume control damper, then small room will indeed be overcooled since majority of the temperature control comes from the big room because the big room contributes more airflow for the control.

    • @aircondlounge

      For load calculation yes. However, if those zones are serve by one AHU, adding the max load at each zone at different hour will lead to oversizing because when one zone is at max load, it doesn’t necessarily means the other zones are at max load as well. So, sum up the load by the same hour and choose the highest one should be the optimal approach.

    • @aircondlounge
