I don’t think that pistol is big enough.. 😏
Brilliant way of working out. 👌
How do you tig root with that
This is first video ive ever seen to make it actually click in my fucked up brain. Much appreciated
Wat sort of roll out wheel do u have
@@kingitapatikura-watene8572 its an off the hook design and fab. They are on my website www.offthehookdesignandfab.com
Hell ya 🤘🏼
9 3/8 "÷90 × 37 ....Thanks
Thanks for posting this video!! Speaks volumes about what flooring *not* to get! Thanks!!
Great video..thank you.
How much
Saving and sharing this video 4 sure. Thank you, sir.
This is basic ass math
Thats a solid quick way to get your OD Radius to make your cut. But it doesn't get your the Center to End dimension. If you use the formula in the Blue Book you can get the Exact Outside and Inside radius cut marks. We laid out a flanged Elbow that had a leak in it. It was originally a field fit with slip ons and a mitered 60° Ell. We measured the existing piece, Angle(60°), C to Face of Each flange, and the flange rolls. Did the math in the office and came up with your Mitered cut dimensions and new Center to End dimensions. It also had a 10° flange roll on the bottom(vertical run) flange that was tricky to get the angle on. We ended up needing to take 1/4" off 1 flange and 1/2" off the other. Fit it up, welded it out and it fit perfeclty. No field fit Slip Ons required. Not sure how many Pipefitters would have been able to figure that out, sketch it, fab it and make it fit first try. Only been a fitter for 4yrs but learned from some Layout guys that are absolute Wizards. Rolling offsets? no problem. Mitered Ells? No problem? Rolled Flanges on a vertical run? np. Rolled Lateral Tees? Tricky as Fuck but made it fit first try. Couldnt be more grateful to John and Jim the Pipefitter/Layout Wizards.
What all size pipe you can use on that?
Is there another way to make sure the fitting is properly squared? With out an angle finder? My boss asked me to use a square to check my bevel on some 45s i made and i drew blanks.
We’re installing this stuff now. Was recommended from a friend in the field. Well it sucks, I hate it. Done floors with cheaper crap that worked much better. Thanks for video.
are you sure this is rigth buddy what your saying
Should be but you need to subtract the takeoffs for the elbows. This is 2 ways to double check so double check.
You are putting it in backwards. Just saying
I know. I had to in this room. Wife wanted the living room done first. Certain places you have to go backwards like closets ect.
@@offthehookdesignandfabdotc2582 I understand. No worries
Thx for sharing. I used baby powder to get tiles to slide more easily.
I feel sorry for this guy
I have a quick question. Do you have any formal pipefitting training? Why do I ask.. I’m actually a teacher at our local union. Sometimes pipefitting channels come up on my feed and I have to have a look. Most I laugh at. I did come across a couple “Smart Azz” Guys about 15 years ago. I gave them a problem to work out and they still have yet to give me the correct answer. You have a genuine interest in pipefitting. Keep up the good work!
No formal training in pipe specific type work., just worked in fab for many decades and with some ace hands who I learned a bit from also. Worked with some great guys in precision sheet metal holding very tight tolerances through multiple bends and how to get the correct flat patterns for complex things like rectangle to round offset transitions. Had a little formal training with drawings and math as it applied to precision sheet metal but mostly just doing it a long time and trying to help out the other guys with layout.
@@offthehookdesignandfabdotc2582 That’s Great! Keep doing what your doing and never be afraid to learn new things! 🤙🤙😎. I spent my whole career as a pipefitter. 25 years in a paper mill and 15 years building engineering spaces in new cargo ships. Big boilers and SuperSized Superchargers. Did you ever see a supercharger with a 72” diameter inlet! 🤣🤣
You missed the takeout for the elbows.
If you listen to the beginning of the video I said this was for figuring out the center to center distance. The elbow take off will of course have to be subtracted. That is a given.
@@offthehookdesignandfabdotc2582 I missed that part. Loved the presentation! 👍👍. It was nice to see someone getting off the 45* kick. Pipefitting is not always 45’s, tees and 90’s.
@@RichGT350r true. I made some other videos for figuring out the take off and other things. Tried to keep it simple and separated.
So would both fittings be a 42 degree?
Yes
Great way of explaining!!! The box visual is perfect!!

Great explanation and teaching tools! Awesome video all around thank you!
Awesome video, thanks mate. The string technique is a brilliant one
Great job budd
Can you please make a video of how to do a Mira join?
Very easy to understand
The box example is the best way to show it works rooling offset calculation... THANK YOU FOR YOUR THIS GREAT VIDEO!
Couldn’t you just do the same thing you did for the top of the 90 to the bottom and get a mark on the top and the bottom and just connect the two or no?
Yeah that works, but the string wrapped and pulled tight will go to the shortest distance around the elbow which is right where it would be on the bottom and will yield the same result. Not a bad idea to use that to double check it before you cut it. 👍🏻😊
Amazing knowledge sharing Sr easy, clear and just to the point. Thank you so much
I know this video is two years old, but you saved my sanity. I'm using wax on EVERY piece and it's working beautifully. Thank you so much!!!
Who is the autor of pipe fitter book ?

If you have a 45 instead of a 90 would you just cross multiple then divide by 45 instead
Heck of a video explaining and demoing, what a salesman, heck I bought one and I don't even weld, 😂
no counter weight?
I do have counterweights for sale. I do use them often but in this example it would not be needed.
That's a nice setup!
dang, i was looking at installing the Smart Core Ultra because they had the design and color i like (blue ridge pine) and i can find that design and color in any other plank. Now you got me shied away from it because i have never done plank and don't need an extra hassle. And the stuff is not cheap at $4.00 a sq ft thought it was quality
I don't weld pipe but I like to watch out lay it out it's funny how all that goes back together I took an electrical course in prison of course it had conduit bending in it and that's what this reminds me of conduit bending I was fortunate enough to work as an electrician for 6 years on that unit because I can't get an electrical license I feel back on welding and that's just barely a living for me at least where I'm at they want to get all the Mexicans a chance all the white people get pushed to the bottom of the barrel least that's what it seems like I can't find no work for nothing
Where'd you go bro still out there
Yes just busy running a business, behind on orders and stressed out. No time to make videos lately .
lol @Suicide hotline
You can also go a²+b²+c²=rolling offset length² if you know all 3 initially
Thnks 4 the tips!!
Bonjour monsieur je voudrais savoir si vous pouvez traduire votre vidéo en français car je m'intéresse à ce que vous faites
It's good to see people like you who like to share their knowledge ,unlike structural welders who are dopes.
I've used 3 versions of click-lick type flooring, including this specific brand, and they are all a pain to install. The last install was my LAST install!
I went to Lowe's looking to purchase vinyl tiles... I was sold this stuff, the first cut I did I noticed there's wood (cheap fiber wood) and all the vinyl was is the top wearing course. I installed steinmaster luxury vinyl planks In the bathroom and those were true vinyl throughout. This is not true vinyl throughout. Not happy.
