I saw this movie in a theater all by myself. No other people. I wandered around and walked around the theater as I watched it. I was so surprised at how similar I had felt about things, as he did , at the SAME TIME in history as him. Then, at the end of the film, it showed his birthday February 12th, 1968. It was the EXACT SAME DAY I was born!! He and I had been born on the same day and lived our lives at the same time. I still cry when I think of his story.
Yeah, that's something my Dad talks about and I agree with. If he had just done his research, kept in contact with family, and generally made sure he had some way of getting back, he might still be alive and have an incredible story to tell.
I was in a pretty bad place when I first heard of Into the Wild. Now, I can't remember whether I saw the film, read the book or heard the album first, but it's the only time I've ever loved all three equally. I used to listen to this very video every day on my walk to a job I hated, RUclips's early pre-smartphone app playing in my pocket. It made me walk more upright and reminded me that there was more to life than struggling to keep your head above water. Dunno how much it played a part in turning things around for me, but if I remember those feelings now, 11 years later, I guess it was significant.
i have to wonder why he did what he did. ig uess we all do crazy things as a kid but i have to wonder and at some point in the movie he looks at himself thinking"that could be me" like he was beside himself maybe having regrets knwoing this journey would cost his life. they say only the good die young. im not sure thats true but its quite possible. i just look at this guy as a kid who was on the wrong path. sure he lived i guess but to me dying young isnt good.
Hey to everybody who will see this message, I've never seen this movie I've always wanted to but I've had drug and alcohol problems and I've always wanted to get away from it. Maybe the wilds calling my name ?
Its a shame a cover song gets more play than the original because its attached to a soundtrack. Truly, I think this song (the original) is bigger than this movie. This kind of ruined the song for me. Attaching emotions (from the film) to a song of emotion of another kind.
thank you for this. Many years ago I wanted to follow in Chris's footsteps. I never did. But what I did do is become an explorer, a hiker, a person who sought out pure beauty in nature. And I will die on the trails. Chris is always with me in spirit and I'll never forget the impact he's had on my life. period. rip Alexander Supertramp.. you're forever in my soul.

Morgen ist ein neuer tag, wenigstens das stimmt

A brilliant story about independence, alienation, life and love. Share your joys and hearts.

Conmovedor...
3:04 the part where he sees himself in his WHAT IF life is so powerful. Good for him on following his heart. Just wish he was better prepared.

If you want something in life, reach out and grab it.
No words how good it is
I like this version, but Indio is the best.
He didnt burn the cash....he had 300 on him when he died
The indigo version is solid but vedder and this movie mash up is next level
*Eddie Vedder killed it thanks to Sean Penn! Great collab!*
