Nice to know you have a back up plan if boon docking doesn't work out. Love the 1974 camper!! SO COOL about the hummingbird, and I could see her!! Thank you for sharing that. 😍That first site looked very difficult. Why were the rocks there? That is an insane amount of stairs!!!😯 Smart people to find shelter. Even though it was disappointing, it seems like it was the right decision to turn around. Good thoughts on the elevation. We will see how it goes when we get out there too. - Jim & Michelle

Great video! I love hummingbirds too (Val), it’s so fascinating when you can capture them in slow-mo! I made it to 1800 steps too! We did it with our teens and nobody really came prepared, so we ran out of water and had to exit to play it safe. Wasn’t a defeat though! That hike at that altitude is a win no matter how far ya make it! Definitely want to go back and try again!

We dry camp a lot in our 2075. We only have one solar panel and the 2 Li batteries. We don’t have anything like the Bluetti just a small charger to recharge phones. We use propane only and have found that we can go about 5 days before needing to dump. And that’s if there are no services where you camp. We recently did 8 days with a nearby vault toilet, potable water, and a place to dump dishwater. It was the perfect scenario for dry camping.

You're right, I think the best time to hike the Manitou Incline is in the morning. And that's when I (Chris) did it. And man did that hike humble me. It was a beast. And the craziest thing I saw while hiking it? A woman in her early to mid 20's running down the incline backwards. Waiting to see what happens with the incline in a future video. Ken, I had a good laugh when I saw you sitting on the steps. I could totally relate and believe me I did the same thing MANY times. That's good info on the Bluetti, we only use it for Stalink (Just buy one already 😄) and charging our devices. So happy and excited for you about your future granddaughter. Can't wait to see the pics!

It was a beast for sure...and were only just starting to ht to really steep part when the rain hit. Still need to do more testing on the Bluetti to see ho to best use it but I think using it at night and running the fridge on propane at night while bookdocking could be he best use...and of course if stationary during the day using the Solar Panel to keep charging it while using.

This is always great. When you have the money. They have the money. But when you don't have the money? And you are a Retiree like myself. What are your choices? Nil at best. And it's mostly, Diesel Pushers. So get over it! You're not getting a Super Class-C. You are getting old used, 20+ year, Motorhome. Now... which one do you go for? That's the only question. And what's available? Thanks to a couple of other RUclips channels. Like RV Expert AZ and Liz Amazing's RUclips channels. And Matt's channel. And black tank treatment. I opted for a 22-year-old, Monaco, Knight, rare, short, 34 foot, PST model. In like new condition. 100% original stock. Owned by, 2 pairs of elderly couples. Who put 65,100 miles on the vehicle. Never wearing out or breaking anything in the interior. Or the exterior. Caring for it like their babies. Everything works perfectly. It has a new, 1 1/2 year old Toyo Tyers. The generator works great. Everything works great. Nothing is worn out. Nothing showing any, wear. It's immaculate. For $25,000 cash. That's not, $225,000. That's $200,000 less. Now who's being smart here? People that like to throw their money around? Or someone who was not yet totally senile? You do the math. How long do you need this, motorhome to live? 20 years longer than you? Why? So your children can have fun with it? Let them purchase their own damned motorhome! I know what I'm doing. I'm being practical. I am not senile. I'm only 69. And not senile. Hi my name is Remy. What's yours? RemyRAD

All I can do. Is to give you my personal experience. With my Super-C Class, Motor home of over 30 years. Along with my recent, acquisition. Of a Diesel Pusher Motor Home. The Super-C. Drives like a truck. Because it is. But the diesel pusher. That's a Cadillac. Impersonating a, Motorhome. Need I say more? It is the lap of comfort and luxury. It's not a truck. What don't you understand about the difference between a bus and a truck? How comfortable are people in trucks? How comfortable are people in buses? In trucks. They are mostly, a legal aliens. In buses. They all have passports. To pleasure riding. Not so much in a truck. As that's loud, dirty, stinky, sweaty. A truck. You do the math. For all the little boys who are now adults. They like trucks. For sophisticated people who are adults. They like buses. Because they are far more probable and quiet. With the noise in the back. Which boys do not like. Because they can't hear the engine growl. Poor little boys. A diesel pusher motorhome is the way to go. When you are an adult. And not a Boy, anymore. That needs a Truck. To feel like a boy. Again. Yeah no. I'm an adult. So after over 30 years with my Super-C. It was time to get into something much more comfortable. Like a diesel pusher. Because I am now a retired adult. I don't need to pretend I am a Trucker. I'm an adult. With a, diesel pusher, Motorhome. RemyRAD nearly 40 years in to, Motor Homing. You get a diesel pusher in the end. I know what I'm talking about. I've been doing it for so long. With a Super-C. It was time for some comfort and quiet. RemyRAD

Thanks for your perspective. Yes I am sure. diesel push is more comfortable to drive. Each like nay RV has its trade offs. The Super C is certainly louder int he cab, but do like the satety aspect of those. Is a good thing that they make both types so we have a choice.

Bought a very nice used eight-year-old travel trailer stored in my downhill driveway with all the stabilizers down and concrete blocks under the front, first winter both tires on the left side, went flat and bent my stabilizer arm

Google is on my black list forever. It got me lost in Denver Colorado for nearly an hour on a cloudy day that I was unable to see the mountains or the sun. I called a friend and told him where I was and he gave me directions to where I wanted to go. Google was taking me east when I wanted to go west and on the way out of town, with pouring rain, asked for I-25 and it was taking me through residential parts of the greater metropolitan area. I shut google off and called the friend again. I don't trust any of the map apps much because of that and keep a paper map or map book handy. My favorite maps are the books that show the topographical view of states with dirt roads, etc. Thanks for some really good info.

I do think we have come to rely too much on these apps. They are great most times but can lead you astray at times. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I use google maps, Garmin Rv gps and also have the truckers atlas that I also check since it lists low clearance bridges.

Garden of the Gods is beautiful! It’s on our list! We road a cog up to the peak of Mt Washington earlier this year! The views were amazing. Ken’s recipe looked 🧑‍🍳 😘!

Yes, you definitely need to go to Garden of the Gods! Mount Washington is on our list! That cog train must’ve been so fun, too! He’s a really good cook, and even though his last name is Smith, he’s a great Italian food cook! Thanks guys and hoping we can connect sometime soon!!!

I've said it before...but dang I love your editing and way you put your videos together 👏👏👏 You said you were from NY...upstate or the city ? Spent a lot of time in both...just curious I lived my high school and teenage years In an old school Italian neighborhood in Toronto....I mean make your own sausage, wine & pasta...old. Your lovely supper reminded me.🍷🍷...I could use a lesson or 2. Lookin forward to part 2...👏👏‼️

Rob. Thanks so much that means a lot. It is a labor of love and feeds my creative side since I can’t have my drums with me. Haha. I was born in NJ but my family moved back to Staten Island when I was 3. Very Italian there. Haha. I had a couple of friends whose parents made their own wine. My mom made great sauce and cheesecake. I swear the cheescake weighed 20 lbs and it was only 3 inches high. haha.

Hey Ken! I am hungry now! 🤣 Jon and I love Italian dishes! and we agree with you! we love to prepare other dishes besides grilling burgers and steak. Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak were the places we missed due to us not wanting to leave the San Juan Mountains. Lazy buggers! 🤣joke... I got a real bad bug. (Seiry) Well, thanks for the information, Ken... definitely not telling Jon the cost of the train! 😆 🤣🤣btw... loved the video!

Thanks. Yes have to make full timing feel like home more and cooking can help. Yes the train was expensive but more enjoyable than taking the SuperDuty up there. Garden of the Gods was nice but if I had to choose between the 2 I would take Pikes Peak!
