This trail is perfect for families and casual hikers, with opportunities to spot wildlife like elk, moose, and various bird species, including the namesake bluebirds. The Refuge itself protects over 23,000 acres of unique Channeled Scablands ecosystem, featuring a mix of ponderosa pine forests, meadows, wetlands, and riparian habitats.
