Great episode yall!! Always a fun time tryna guess the shows with yall!! I got a total of 4 right + bananya (thanks to your hint about them not talking lmao) Miles’ 2nd one was def a tricky one.. I thought of VE first.. and then as it kept going I switched to FB because they mentioned prequel in the review! Pete’s 2nd one I had multiple shows throughout the course of the review. But they kept getting canceled out by what they were saying. I never thought about AD until Preston mentioned it.

Dead dead demons and Yatagarasu were such great watches in the summer season. Going to miss them! (And yes Miles you should watch Yatagarasu, someday 😂)

I agree, this season was def full of hidden gems! I’m with miles. Nokotan pissed me off when they showed us fun things then didn’t follow thru with them.. I wish they would’ve went all in on the actual world of deers.. And the voice actors killed it! Esp in the subbed! I was also a big fan of Bashame. So many moments from her made me laugh where as most Nokotan moments didn’t unf. Biggest surprise of the season was def magical girl & evil Lt. didn’t expect that to go so hard! Ramen akaneko was my second surprise! Such a fun show as well with a great voice cast!

I love all of Fujimotos stuff whether it's chainsaw man or the one shots. Both brilliant

The skipping scene in the manga was already so cinematic with fujimoto illustrating all the subtle changes in emotion in fujino. It's one of those incredible page turn spreads that has been burned into my eyes ever since I first read it. So it was really emotional seeing it animated like it was. Oshiyama did it complete justice.

Look back was amazing! I personally am a fan of Fujimoto's more out there esoteric works especially Fire Punch with it's very beautiful queer explorations but I can definitely see people prefering something like Look Back and Goodbye Eri. Just the range is appreciated.

Just came from the theater a few hours ago, it was amazing! Packed showing, every seat taken. Even years after reading it, this was adapted so wonderfully that I laughed and got emotional in equal amounts! Shame it wasn't longer. The Behind the Scenes Interview with the Director and Voice Actresses was great too.

Blue Giant is incredible!! Loved Dai so much as a MC. I’m curious what else happens in the manga, I’ll have to read it sometime

Blue Box ch 101 is one of my favorite chapters in any manga, which is saying a lot cause that whole arc was 10/10

Gundam always brings out very interesting conversations among the crew

I think the best example of a deconstruction anime played straight for deconstruction purposes that I’ve seen is bloom into you. It starts with an mc who loves reading shoujo manga and she is excited for her first confession because she thinks it’s gonna be like a fairytale but then when she finally gets one she feels absolutely nothing. The story after that focuses on her relationship with another character and how mc learns what falling in love with someone actually feels like/means (meanwhile her love interest’s story is also a deconstruction of the “perfect model student who everyone loves” trope sorta like how asuka’s story is a deconstruction of the tsundere trope). Idk if you guys have watched it already but this made me think of that. Great video as always!
