pretty happy with this, esp since this only took a single minute of attempts once i started trying to beat my pb. the e00 is basically perfect, went through first tick with an extremely fast reversal.

loaded into e02 stuck in the ground for no reason which lost me 2 seconds. that combined with the sloppy early game leads me to not being happy with this run either as you can tell in my reaction. test 1 = microphone up in speaking position test 2 = keyboard sound test Microphone = Q2U with high pass in OBS ReaperEQ plugin. Room is not sound dampened. keyboard feels nicer than the wooting two for sure but i like fullsize so i have a separate numpad, will still take a bit to adjust.

a few days ago i discovered that you can inherit enough speed through a pqr to beat the UE route, getting it playable required help from @chrisumb for many reasons. yes this breaks the 144 person WR tie for this map. this route was such a pain in the ass to get working that chris spent literal full days trying to get a save that hit the seamshot consistently due to an all you can eat RNG buffet...

This uses 02 skip which is a route that is currently banned due to lack of verification tools to ensure that no props fall out of bounds. pretty happy with this, you can still get at least another 0.1s off by doing the edgeglitch shots on cap but that's really difficult along with everything else going perfect.

fling route saves the same amount in advanced, theres another second of timesave if i did a qce leading into the peeks instead of walking all the way around to the wall, but it makes the aim really difficult.

18 is only 1 tick away from perfect with the current route. e02 isn't amazing but it puts me up to 17/18 of the inbounds community best splits, with only a 2 tick gold in 08 left to have all of them at once. top left is a discord stream from vc.

That's a crazy run, I really wonder how people can play like this! Eventrough this doesnt belong to this comment section I still would like to ask whether someone know a good strafe and bhop tutorial (I've seen the bhop tutorial from the speedrun website) the problem is that when I look for strafe tutorials (so I can run chamber 12 and other chambers faster) I get some CS:GO tutorials, but I'm way too stupid to do the same in Portal. My current glitchless run is ~21 min and I know that I can do better if I learn how to bhop and strafe. So if anyone has a good tutorial on those pls tell me :D

@the_sidious Yeah, I know. I mean, maybe just MAYBE in the future with new routes and bugs, but that's very unlikely. I think we are near the end of the speedruns for Portal
@Lekroy1 the last big timesave is lamp vault skip, which would theoretically save 20s but it's extremely random to the point that the best time with it is only a couple seconds faster than my gold.
@the_sidious Yep, I just can't imagine how much luck you need to accomplish it and then not fuck up onward. But if somebody will save at least 5s by using this glitch, this will be legendary. Maybe you should try this

With a few expetions, the majorities of the maps going like this : 1 use a glitch to get out of bounds 2 shoot a portal under the exit elevator 3 go through the portal which make the game push you inbounds and activate the elevator 4 go back out of bounds 5 shoot a portal to the top of the elevator shaft 6 go through the portal 7 use the remainig time to set up for the next map
