I understand this is his dad (they look like each other) - his dad had incurable kidney cancer - James wrote this understandably with pain and love - the ending was a family member had a matching kidney and transplanted- his dad survived. Today, not knowing the their status - I would end up by saying his son did took the monsters away. I can’t explain the effect this video had on me, reflection is hard. All the reactions regarding the songs, is immense, by listening to many, became therapeutic, for us men, you can say ‘you’re not my mother’, any member, friend, and life. - We can Say “James chased the EVIL away (for one grown man, daddy- delaying having to say goodbye! Note- having two kidneys, you can live with one, had to have been worse with both!

Men have feelings and when these things makes you cry it makes you even more of a man. Let the tears flow. :) That is his father. At the time of recording this video his father had been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure and was dying as no match could be found. Both being ex military the not your son etc comment was I believe said to James by his father when he was being deployed to Yugoslavia as part of the UN forces. After this recording this video the crew were all in tears and his fathers comments were along the lines of “what you crying for, I’m still alive” Following the release of this song it reached a distant relative in Australia who came forward and was a match for his dad and he had a successful transplant, so in a real way this song really did chase the monster away.

My so called father is not here anymore thank god. He abused my mum verbally making her cry calling her fkn useless and he physically and sexually abused me. He also used to entice other kids the nonce. My mums father he was more of a father to me. He taught me so much, he was the only male role model i had and it hit me hard when he died of dementia and pneumonia. 30 years later at the age off 55 i still miss my gramps and still cry when i think of him and all the good times we had. I used to go sit with him when he was bed ridden and hold his hand. This song tears me up everytime. My gramps was an armourer in RAF during WW2 and ive co authored a book on his RAF Squadron in his memory.

My dad died in 86, he was only 55. He did get to meet his grandsons before he left.

Hi there, you might want to check your sound levels, the video sound was very loud, your mic sound was extremely quiet by comparison, to hear what you had to say I had to raise volume, rewind, then lower volume to go back to music. Otherwise good video and strong reaction.
