Take a ride on my Radian RC Motor Glider
Просмотров 52Год назад
Just for fun I thought I would mount a Mobius Action Camera on my Horizon Hobby RC Radian Motor Glider. I thought about adding music but I thought it sounded better with just the wind and motor sounds. I have better than 200 flights on this thing and its still going strong. I made four separate flights mounting the camera at a different angle each time to capture this footage. Notice at the end...

Aboard the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas December 2019. Excursion into Routan Honduras BOSS Underwater scuba scooter with friends. Little snorkel time before our turn on the scooter. Was trying out my new OSMA Action, much improvement over my GoPro five and seven.
ONDU Pinhole Camera fun aboard the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas Christmas Cruise.

Don't beat me up in the comments this video is just for fun. Although an amateur photographer both film and digital for 30 years now I'm NOT AN EXPERT! This past December 2019 I went on a Christmas cruise with friends and took along my newly purchased ONDU 6X6 film pinhole camera. Loaded with Iford HP 400 black and white film I walked the ship taking photos. I'm new to pinhole photograph but I"...
My Dinghy sank! First overnight trip on my West Wight Potter 15!
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
I have owned my West Wight Potter for about three or four summers by now but this past October 2019 I decided to spend the night on it for the first time. I way overpacked and headed out to Lake Thunderbird in Norman Oklahoma. Sailing about one mile from he dock and dropped anchor just off of Zoom Beach. Within an hour my dinghy sank, I was swamped with bugs and it became a little cold. The nex...
Sailing Angry

You should not sail angry, but even a bad day at the lake is still good (As long as nobody gets hurt!). On this trip, in a rush, I decided to hit the lake with my West Wight Potter 15 at Lake Thunderbird Oklahoma. In a rush to get in the water I checked the fuel but forgot to tighten the gas cap. Notice in the video its missing. You would think that would be easy to find, not so much though. St...
2019 RS Zest Sailboat
Просмотров 10 тыс.5 лет назад
Ordered my RS Zest sailboat back in March, it arrived in June. So far I'm liking the boat but on second trip out the rudder broke at the hinge, lower pin. We will see how well the dealer handles the warranty. The local sailing club ordered several of these boats and have had the same issues with the rudder. The dealer shipped out an improved version quickly. Boat is lots of fun and looking forw...
First Time Capri 16 Sail!
Просмотров 2 тыс.6 лет назад
My 1990 Capri 16, Knuckle Sandwich, hits the water for the first time EVER May 12, 2018 at Lake Thunderbird Oklahoma. Bought this boat from a retired Catalina dealer in the Dallas area about a year and half ago. The boat had been parked and shuffled from his dealership to his house off and on over the years. It had never been rigged to titled until I found it on Craigs List! A little clean up a...
Capri 14 Sailboat - lost keys

Sailing our 1984 Capri 14 Sailboat on Lake Murray Oklahoma. My brothers and I had tons of fun with the boat we paid 800 dollars for almost 17 years ago. This is what happens when you loose your keys and I-Phone down in the hull of the boat!! Recovered both the keys and phone in the end and we still consider this sailing adventure a success.
Elvis Goes Camping! Just having fun
Просмотров 197 лет назад
During our last family camping trip somebody had the idea of putting on an Elvis outfit then tubing on Lake Murray Oklahoma. We did have a little fun, but the nice Oklahoma Lake Patrol Officer had to stop and ask why!? It was all in fun of course, and believe it or not this was not the result of alcohol!
West Wight Potter 15 First Sail, Girls R Mean!
Просмотров 7 тыс.7 лет назад
Recently purchased a 2000 model West Wight Potter, cleverly named "Girls R Mean". The boat had been garage kept and not in the water for about 7 plus years when I found it. This video is of the boats first sail just a few days after I purchased it. Lake Thunderbird Oklahoma. 12 mph winds, great conditions. I did not add any music because I wanted the sounds of the water and winds to be heard.
Excelente 100
Nice job, you had the little potter flying along.
Is that Loijka sitting on the rail?
That is a Loijka on the rail, he is in the Capri 16 first sail video too....
Do you still have the potter? Sell? frank
I do still have, it’s one of my favorites..... slow but steady
Hi Robert. How do you like the 16? does she do okay in a breeze? I'm thinking of finding one for sale. We're in Edmond. Downsizing from a larger boat.
I like it but it’s a lot of work to rig and launch alone, love it once on the water. I’m really thinking of selling it as I ha e two others
@@Filmnotdead Please let me know if you decide to sell. I'm in OK but will travel for the right boat. Thanks!
Hello Mark, I’m looking to sell the boat. I’m in Oklahoma City. Let me know
@@Filmnotdead How do I get in touch with you? my email is sailingpodcast (at) gmail (dot) com thanks
@@Filmnotdead Robert, please shoot me your tel# to sailingpodcast(at)gmail(dot) I'm interested. Thanks - Mark
why dont you use the extension? it make steering way easier
The extension broke first time out, but yes makes it easier
@@Filmnotdead ahh
I’ve read about many issues with the extension. Hopefully by now, there’s been improvements.
Awesome job. I purchased one, and I'm ready to try it out. The film is backward, which is different compared to traditional film cameras. Keep it up.
Thank you! They are fun cameras that’s for sure!
Love that camera angle. What did you fasten it to the rail with?
If I remember correctly I used a GoPro bicycle handle bar mount and attached it to the front pulpit. It was just a cheap mount I got from Wal-Mart. Works pretty good but you can hear it bouncing around a little. Still great fun! Thanks for commenting!
@@Filmnotdead Appreciate the response! I had tried putting one of those gorilla tripods to my mast and it wasn't holding very well. The handlebar mount is a great idea, similar diameter for sure.
How are you liking the RS Zest? Looks like it might be a good candidate as a learning platform.
Hello sorry for the delay in responding, yes I really like my Zest! Here in Oklahoma we have some really strong winds. I have had my Zest out in 30 plus winds, although that might be a little much it handled it very well! The Thunderbird sailing club ordered several of these last summer to teach with, young kid students to adults. In fact I found out yesterday they ordered two more! I think you would be happy with with a RS Zest!
We ordered 4 for our program and I’ve had the chance to try them out in Toronto. Perfect training boat for that size between Opti and 420. Hoping to use them for our adult courses as well.
Just an update. The dealer has been great and quickly sent out new improved replacement parts to fix the rudder! Big adventures ahead!
Sorry to hear your rudder housing broke, this became a known issue after your boat had shipped and it was a challenge to get the replacements all over the world in time. To top it off, we had new ones en route to you before you took delivery of your boat but they were lost in shipping. I'm glad there weren't any major issues and I hope you're enjoying your RS Zest. -Todd Riccardi RS Sailing North America
Todd Riccardi thanks Todd! Love the boat, I have since had it out in 20mph Oklahoma winds and had a blast! No issues with the new rudder, great fun!
@@wildtsail Hi Todd; as you know I'm currently shopping for a Zest. Reading the comment above, makes me feel good and comfortable in dealing with RS North America. It's good to see your level of involvement in local issues in your region (North America) Cheers, and keep up the good work
Nice little boat. She really scoots along !
How much fun is that! :)
Looked great.
