What’s the name of the short film with a similar plot? It’s a guy taking pictures in the woods. He has glasses and a vintage camera. Then a boy starts appearing in the pics. When the boy gets closer he points behind him and the photographer follows him and he leads to his dead body under a tree. It’s early 2010s. I think it starts with the letter Q.

Sure, the music and the editing of the trailer can lead you to think this could be romcom. Except the tone of the actors, their acting, and the cinematography reveal something much darker.

What this trailer makes it look like: Dani and Christian are in a rough patch with their relationship and as they’re visiting Pelle’s home town, they both have to decide if they still want to stay with each other. On the way, Dani starts growing closer to Pelle who very clearly has feelings for her. So Dani has to choose if she still wants to be with Christian, or if she should be with Pelle instead. What the movie actually is: Dani is an emotional wreck and is still recovering from the murder-suicide of her parents and sister. Christian is a gas-lighting jerk who doesn’t even care much for Dani and is just being in a relationship with her for the sake of avoiding confrontation. And Pelle exploits these two for his murderous cult by being the “nice guy” and manipulating the two.

This is beautiful man, I’m glad you got to share this with us on RUclips. I looked at this camera on Marketplace and really felt sorta conflicted on whether to get it or not, you’ve assured me you can create some wonderful, fucking incredible footage with this. I loved this short A LOT, and it might just be up there on one of my favorite analog shorts of all time. So again, thank you. This was a great (almost) four minutes well spent.
