There was a troop transport at the capital and supplies for taking Ellie and squad of Fireflies that was supposed to be every Firefly in the Boston QZ including Marlene to Colorado. What wasn't there was another truck and supplies that were promised to Tess and Joel for delivering Ellie. because they planned on killing them both once Ellie was delivered to keep her existence and their plans for her secret. Marlene had no problem sending her people out to die as necessary sacrifices of war, she would have even less qualms about killing a couple of smugglers who she didn't particularly like in the first place. Same thing for Ellie. Marlene talks about what Ellie would want to do but she has no idea. She only met and spoke with her 3 weeks after the death of Riley and when she was ready to move her west. That's when she introduced herself to Ellie and told her some things about her life. But she doesn't know anything about her as a person. She doesn't know her love for the Savage Starlight comics, Mortal Combat. or bad puns. She has no idea what she's been through or how her greatest fear is ending up alone. She has no idea of the survivors guilt she feels not only about Riley but over Tess, Henry and Sam too. Marlene doesn't really know her at all. When she says she is the only one who understands she means about the promise she made to Anna. The promise she fulfilled by putting Ellie in a military/orphanage where she was raised by the fascist both she and Anna were fighting against. A place where Ellie would become a soldier trained to kill Fireflie and was more likely to die from a Firefly bomb or random attack than by any infected. I seriously doubt this is what Anna meant when she said give her to someone who will keep her safe. She meant someone who would love her and give her a sense of family and belonging, not just physical safety. The reason Marlene and the doctor had her sedated as soon as they got her and never let her see Joel was because they weren't interested in what Ellie wanted. Ellie was dead as soon as she entered the hospital, Marlene and the doctor were near going to let her just leave with Joel if that was her choice. To Marlene she was just another necessary sacrifice in Marlene's heroes journey to "save the world." Joel and Tess weren't "good people" but neither is anyone else in this world except for people like Frank. Everyone else is only too ready to do unspeakable things in order to maintain their version of survival. Imagine a doctor ready to operate on a healthy patient, to remove their heart for someone else, That is what this doctor is doing justifying it by the numbers involved which do not change the immorality of what he is doing. Nothing in medicine is 100% so he is doing this not really knowing if it will work or not. The speed with which they are willing to roll the dice just shows how wrong they know this is and how they are trying to avoid even a moments thought about this. If ti works we are heroes, if it doesn't no one will ever know it even happened.

It was no accident that he became a teacher, a position of authority over his victim type. The thing about David is that when he talks to Ellie he isn't lying. He does see her as a potential equal because he recognizes the same violent heart in her as his own. This is something she shares with Joel. Not just a propensity for violence but the feeling of enjoyment they get from doing violent acts. When Ellie is killing David she slows down at one point but then starts to speed up again. Bella Ramsey said that what bothers Ellie about killing David was how good it felt just like what bothered her when David said she was just like him was her own knowledge that he was right. Which is why she said he doesn't know her in her attempt to avoid the uncomfortable truth of what he was saying. Remeber when she killed the stalker trapped in the ruble. The look of anger and hate when she killed him was from the deaths of Tess and Riley. But her torturing him first, her cutting him and making him follow the blade with his eyes before killing him, that was all about her pleasure. The real damage that David caused was not all about what he was about to do with her. The real damage was unleashing the monster inside that will reemerge in next season with devastating consequences to both Ellie and all those around her that she cares about.

season 2 is split over 2 years.

I do believe that Part 2 will be split into a Season 2 and 3 since the story is so long.

Season 2 - Cliffhanger in the theatre. Season 3 - Abby’s perspective/ theatre outcome. Season 4 - Aftermath/Santa Barbara.

I’m still convinced season 2 ends on a cliffhanger with Abby’s line in the theater “we let you live and you WASTED it!”

I hope they do kind of a parallel story telling on the show. My biggest issue with the game was that they did a poor job (imho) making me to care for Abby and her team, so theres hope if we see Abbys flashbacks pre Jackson, and they can expand on it, i know the actress is great so theres hope, that way if the final ep of s2 is the encounter it will feel less forced.

So based on the trailer, I'm thinking either the show is not following the same timeline as the game or there were scenes shot early for Season 3 & 4 which are being shown now. We know, based on trailers for TLOU Part 2, that they like to manipulate predictions and expectations.🤔

Druckman had announced that he would make significant changes to the story. Spoiler I think since Pascal is really important for the series and part 2 should even take 3 seasons according to recent rumors, Pascal will not leave so quickly. It could therefore be that the original concept of the game could come in the series. Originally, it was planned that Abby would actually infiltrate Jackson and get to know the people there. She first gets to know everything and everyone and she gets to know Joel. I don't see any companions of Abby in the trailer either. Which suggests that they will hardly play a role in the coming season. I therefore believe that we will see what happened in the game at the beginning at the earliest in the finale of the season. This could be the Cliffhanger. I think parts of the trailer already cover season 3. I also think that through the therapist we get the flashbacks in different points of view. The view of Ellie, Joel and Abby. Without Abby revealing what she is up to. I can also imagine that Abby and Ellie will also become friends in Jackson and that is ultimately the reason for Abby not to hurt Ellie when the time comes.

It's been mentioned that the game will be split in two seasons, and this one will have only seven episodes. There are also rumors that both seasons are being filmed at the same time. About the casting, the actors for Owen and Mel have been announced, but Lev and Yara are still unknown. My theory: what we'll see will be very similar to the game. That Joel scene happens at the end of episode 1, the rest of the season is Ellie and Dina going to Seattle peppered with the flashbacks and appearances by Tommy, Jesse, Abby and her group, Isaac and the Seraphites. The season will end with Abby confronting Ellie at the theater and cut to black. Season three will begin with Abby's first flashback and move on from there. That's why Lev and Yara have not been cast yet. About the porch scene, I think it has already been filmed because of Pedro's busy schedule but we'll only see it (at least in full) in season three.

Just to help ya out a little bit. Owen, Mel, Nora & Manny have been cast and they’ll be in season 2. Yara and Lev have not you were correct on that. Probably won’t see them until Season 3. Also the “take on me” scene where Ellie is playing the guitar for Dina and the subway scene at the end of the trailer are both from Seattle Day 1 so we’re definitely going golfing no later than probably episode 4 of 5 (Season 2 is only gonna be 7 episodes).

I am a massive TLOU fan and I absolutely loved both Part 1 and 2. Both games according to me was masterpieces.

The translations are a bit wrong at the end. In the dream just before Nishimiya runs to the bridge, Ishida is saying "I think I'm going to die" (and not that he was thinking of killing himself). He is saying goodbye in their shared dream. Then she cries at the bridge, and Ishida hears/sees her crying through the koi fish (koi karps have a connection to the spirit world in Japanese folklore). If Nishimiya hadn't gone to the bridge and cried there (where the koi fish was), Ishida would have died. He wakes up and goes to the bridge because he knows she is there. Then, when they talk at the bridge, he says "I want you to help ME live" (and not "I want to help YOU live" which is the exact opposite of what he said). So there are some mistranslations.

Just incase: つき or tsuki means Moon, and すき or suki means Love, so they sound really simmilar.

many hates ueno but she is really sad til the end. she loves ishida that's why she become bully too to get in his attention. and people always told ueno to F off from nishiyama, but of course can't because she want to be close with ishida. on ferris wheel she even tried to propose a 'hate' relationship. until the end, ueno still need to bury her feeling and even learn to sign just to fit in.
