Installing Micro VG's on my Cessna 170B
Before I bought the Stoots IO-370 engine, and Hartzell Trailblazer Prop for my 1954 Cessna 170B, I had purchased Micro Dynamics VG kit. It took me two years, but low and behold, I finally installed the VG kit on the wings of my 170. I have already installed the Sportsman STOL Kit, so now adding the Micro VGs should increase aileron controllability even more. This video is not an installation help video, or even a technique video, it is just me documenting the process of installing the VGs on my airplane. I did a limited amount of Stall testing after the install, but this is also not a performance and capabilities video. Hope you enjoy

Hey thank you. It’s actually a iPad mini with foreflight & the Guardian mount. It does still wirelessly link to the GNX375 for ads-b and sending flight plans.
Check West Yellowstone I worked at the FBO every summer when not teaching HS, it's a great location for exploring. Free pilots' campground and car. Restaurant at the terminal, Bears in the woods.
Thanks! We parked the plane on the ramp there for 4 days while we got a rental and went into the park & drove up to big sky to visit family. Great airport and hospitality, definitely will remember the campsite!

Great video. I'm considering micro VGs for the 140 as it's the only real wing mod that can be done.
Thanks, I say go for it! Definitely an improvement in control for sure, if you get them at Sun n Fun they give a discount, plus an additional fly-in discount. Might be worth waiting until the spring.
VG's are top on my list when I finally get my C150 painted.

Small world. Met you at ACME Aero flyin last year ( or the year before? ) and was at SunNFun this year. I was at the ultralight field ( mid-field ) when you took off to fly home. I looked over my shoulder and saw this beautiful Grey/Black/White C170 launching and smiled to myself... hey, I know that guy. Thanks for sharing Kevin.

Love This.Iam 81 and soon to be 82 . I FLEW all over Idaho and Alaska back county I was blessed to have a 180 -185 and later a cub . We had a cabin at big creek . Only one accident at the waren strip in the snow just had to change our pants . I loved flying. Thank you JESUS. Stay safe

I’ve flown a Cessna 206 that has the VGs and at slow speeds the aerodynamic changes are pretty much amazing
The VGs is going to make a huge difference in slower stall speeds and slow flights
