After this scene the excitement of the movie went down , if the movie continued at this pace with higher stakes , it would have even been a much better film. But after this scene , the story wasn’t as exiting as this scene and Stephenwulf didn’t seem to be much of a threat against Superman and no stakes which made the ending scenes kid of boring

By all accounts, this version of Joe Chill should've either been doing life with no parole or gotten the Death Penalty. It's revealed later in the film that Chill was hired to murder Thomas and Martha Wayne because they dared to turn back the economic downturn Gotham was suffering at the hands of the League of Shadows. Furthermore, Falcone's ordering a hit was unnecessary. All he had to do was let things play out and he'd have walked scot-free without having to get his hands dirty since Bruce Wayne didn't have his moral code at the time so he was prepared to gun down Joe Chill himself at the expense of both his freedom and the DA's case. Falcone's "mob-boss first instinct" is what ultimately ruined the League of Shadow's plans since he put staying out of prison above the League's objective since the hit on Joe Chill is what led to Bruce's journey that turned him into Batman.
