Antofagasta is a port city in a mining area in northern Chile’s Atacama Desert. It's known for its copper production. As days go, this was an excellent one. We had perfect, sunny weather in Nazca after a restful night. Chiclayo to Trujillo was all we could make because of the mist coming in off the sea. Peru has a definition of IFR minima that requires 1,500 feet vertical for overcast weather and nothing reduced for us helicopters! An eventful day today. We were escorted a while before saying goodbye to Guillermo. Then we continued coastwise crossing to Nicaragua.
