Intelhas not still relesed a 12 or 16 p-core 200 series So talking about Intel has been dethroned as huge youtubers do are just -well ,the current batch tech youtubers are gloating in how "bad" intels new are performing - that performance gap can be closed by 10,12,14,16 or even 24 p-pore models
@@asdfqwerty-u9n I am honestly an intel user- holding out for some hope of a performance patch that I just read about yesterday. Amd is obviously getting so much hype at the moment it that it’s borderline ridiculous. I did test the new core 9 ultra and it does have strong compute power for sure.
I currently have a Corsair 4000x would I be downgrading my case with this 3500x ?
@@notniex I would have to say it would be an upgrade. You can fit a large gpu (4090) and have room for 2 360 radiators in the 3500x. I just installed a custom loop on the case I reviewed and there was a ton of room and great airflow. I would say it’s an upgrade. Cable management is really good on your current case but I would say the 3500x has the edge on the 4000d and x series. My only beef with the 4000 series cases is the limited space for rads at the top of the case. 240 only unfortunate for the 4000d

@@notniex that’s a good deal
9:02 well are they sold out or are there just non available? I have been waiting for my order for quite a while and just got new the delivery is delayed again. They say they haven’t gotten a single 285K in while they have the Ultra 7 and 5 in stock. I finally found a tray version because I couldn’t get a boxed one so bought that. Might return it within my return period to get a boxed one once they are available for warranty and stuff.
@@pvdgucht I have been wondering what the deal is - eBay scalpers have them for over 700 bucks
@ yeah I paid €699 which is €21 higher than boxed price. Since this seller was the only one who had then they also took advantage to sell the tray version for more while they are probably even cheaper. It’s really a paper launch! Or maybe they have difficulty with the N3B node and low yield and that’s why they have so many binned down CPU’s in the form of the 7 and 5.
7:21 I do think the 285K has potential it just needs more cache. That would not only improve performance but also efficiency. For the next gen they should first of all have another gen on the LGA1851 Z890 platform and not drop it only after one generation. And for the 385K I would say it need newer architecture versions of the P and E core with more cache, to use the new battlemage architecture for the integrated GPU, to maybe have a little bit of a faster fabric that connects the tiles. And lastly maybe bump up the NPU a few TOPS to make it more useful. If they can deliver that then I think they have a shot at competing with AMD maybe. But thats a lot to ask and requires a big increase in transistor density. So unlikely..
Sold out? Normal, they are not doing enough cpu, even them know this cpu would not sell a lot.
@@MrArcanjoGabriel the core ultra 9 sold out first day everywhere- Micro center New egg Amazon All sold out. First day.
Can I just get a prebuilt with a r7 7800x3d and 4070 ti super or 4080 super for like $1500 please?
I’m not sure why people expected the 285k to be amazing. It was a reset technically first gen of the new architecture this is all to be expected. It was just like 11900k people were so disappointed and technically the 10900k was faster but it was just a reset for 12900k
then wait and dont release it shit then, dont defend trash products
You have to release it it’s like free beta testing. Also because something doesn’t live up to your standards it doesn’t mean it’s trash. Everyone loves the 14900k and it’s pretty much on par with that with better power efficiency and higher workstation bandwidth. You’re one of those people that wanted it to be revolutionary and it wasn’t ever supposed to be that. Look at 1st gen Ryzen, he’ll even 2nd gen Ryzen it was terrible people laughed at it but it was just a stepping stone for AMD to get to where they are now. AMD would have never got to that point if they just waited to release a halo product. They needed the feedback the free beta testing its almost impossible to play out every scenario in a lab of your own engineers.
@@waylandtpwell, with the exception that Halo is awesome

Thank you for the review. Researching on a case of a new build. Why the fans below GPU? GPU fans pushing air down and the the fans above PSU pushing air up would that be good for the airflow? It definitely looks better but wondering if it spoils the airflow.
The fans below the gpu are directing air into the gpu blowing upward- the gpu fans are also always blowing upward. With fans the rule is "faces suck" so in short, the fans help a lot with gpu temps. Hope this was helpful. Thank you for watching and the question.

Do you think is safe to buy i7 13700k or i9 13900k? I have i9 9900k with rtx 2070 and i am thinking upgrade to i7 13700k or with rtx 4070 ti super, i do 3D modelling, video editing and also AAA gaming. Do you recommend i7 13700k or pick 12900k? I planning to buy it during deals on black friday. I did think of i7 14700k but consume too much power and isnt big improvent from 13th gen from the reviews i have seen.
@@jtome5467 so there is a lot of fear from consumers buying Intel 13th and 14th gen , I personally have 3 i9 systems. 14900k , 13900ks and a 13900k , none of these systems have had any issues. Now I understand the bios and voltage. I had made adjustments way before people were aware of any issues and before Intel knew there was a problem. Currently as long as you update your bios to the newest microcode, I see zero issue with buying the 13th and 14th gen. They are definitely faster than the new core ultra in gaming. Cooling is also important with the i9 CPU’s . I am on custom watercooling and they run extremely cool. As for aio coolers that can handle the i9 - the best results I personally tested on was the ek 360 aio that is affordable and combined with a contact frame and good thermal paste such as thermal grizzly kryonaught or kingpin kpx , it should be a good gaming experience. Also having a higher end motherboard with lots of vrm cooling and powerstages is important with the i9. That being said 14700k and 13700k and extremely good for gaming. If you have concerns, the 12900k and 12700k are good options that are plug and play.
@@tonypolitowicz8290 Ok thanks for the advice. While i still have time, until black friday starts, I will some research about to update bios (some advice update first before put CPU) and "how to adjusments on voltage". If i go with 13th gen something happen i will switch to i9 12900k.
One thing forget to ask is when you said for 12th gen just "plug and play" but should i still set power limit (to what is recommend it on intel website) or just leave it has it is? Also should i update the latest bios (with microde 0x12B) it wont effect to the 12th gen performance? Sorry to ask this questions i just want to make sure i don't make mistakes or encounter issues.
@ so for 12th gen the old micro code is fine the 12th GENCPU doesn’t demand as much power and voltage is an issue. I have a 12th GEN on a PC at my work office and it’s on an old bios . It never commands a lot of voltage and I’ve had zero issues whatsoever.

I have a Epomaker GK96LS, (numpad on the left) and I love this thing - only a few things keep it from being my daily driver. Despite the left-handed keypad, it's currently plugged in at my device imaging/troubleshooting desk - so it still is good enough that I like it enough to have much more expensive and "better" keyboards on display instead of this one. The only things I don't like about it: - Bluetooth Sensitivity: I run it wired because I found this to be the most sensitive Bluetooth board I own when it comes to signal interference. - Software: I run it in generic driver mode and don't change much because their software to customize macros and colors is poorly translated/localized, and seems really shady. - Mode Options: I have to reference the owner manual PDF to change driver layers and Bluetooth modes since it doesn't have any mode switches on the back or sides. - Chassis: I wish the chassis was more rigid, though I do like how lightweight it is. I also wish they actually printed the model info on the back compared to just a serial number.
@@standards-freak yeah I like that board.
I tend to buy top shelf and sit on my builds for multiple generations, then update or get the next platform when it's more difficult to run anything at acceptable levels. My current rig is a 5900X and previously an underwhelming EVGA 3070 (it replaced a 1070ti in 2020 and I Barely noticed any improvement). When the 7900XTs went on sale recently, I was planning to go 'last gen' Threadripper to use as many parts of the current machine as I could (I'm primarily modeling/CAD/CAM work with games as time allows these days), but ended up grabbing a unit for a steal. Just with the GPU, fps Doubled from 70-80 to 160+, and with some fine tuning, I'm regularly in the 180-200 range at 2k resolution. That's a Tremendous bump for just a GPU. Now I'm running into PCIe lanes being gobbled up by NVME drives, so I found a refurbed X570 Unity board to transfer everything and *should be able to have all the drives and a full PCIe 4.0x16 GPU again. Even with x8, this thing is screaming good now in games, and the modeling software is equally happy.
I, personally wouldn't advise anyone to build new on AM4. Even if you have to go 7600 to get on AM5 it's much more sensible. DDR5 will become more relevant as games and engines lean more on the frequency. Intel is an outright avoid until we see Arrow lake performance.
@@stephanhart9941 i completely agree -but for the budget builders it can be a good cheap option
5800x3d not langer available or at ridicoulous prices. Good option if you allready own an AM4-platform the 5700x3D, i wouldn't suggest to build a new system on AM4 basis, but i would highly suggest to upgrade to an 5700x3D (of course if you get an 5800x3d at a reasonable price but only then). i would choose my GPU wisely you can't burn more money (literally) a big issue the most youtubers ignore is additional the energy/perfofmance ratio, especially how good do they go down in power consumption if limited in Framerates, there only a few genres benefitting from highest framerates available, if yo go for genres beside that a stable framerate is worth a lot more than high peak values. Don't forgetif you plan to have highest framerates you need an equivalent monitor to benefit from them, if you only have a FHD 60 FPS monitor why spending tons of money for 4K/240 Frames GPU. In many countries energy costs have risen tremendously don't ignore that, The energy efficiency has becoming much more important.
Wonderful job brudda! Keep up the good work !

Personally I unsubbed a while ago from Jayz and a couple others - not because I don't like their channels, but because of the clickbait/uninformative titles. I've recognized that I just don't want content titles in my feed that says "Dear God.. What have I done" or "I've Made some Terrible Mistakes". I still have a lot of respect and appreciation for Jay and his team. I don't have any ethical concerns either with it, because I understand the way they've branded their channel and content. I think I'm just spoiled by straightforward titles from GN, HardwareUnboxed, DigitalFoundry, etc. I'm working all day with one earbud in, and with a hundred-or-so subbed channels between tech, auto/aircraft engineering, history, to choose from, I need to curate my feed to make informed choices for what my playlist for the day is going to look like.

I'm looking for the lowest affordable build that can also have an upgrade path for the future that i can easily swap out the CPU and GPU?
@@Hesoulo if you want to be somewhat future proof , the newest amd socket is probably the way to go. I would look for motherboard, cpu , ram bundles and save some money. (Microcenter has the best deals) . At that point any current gen gpu that is decent would be good . Stay away from the super budget gpu’s. I’m a big fan of the 4070 and 4070super because the cost isn’t outrageous and it isn’t that power hungry.
If you want a really cheap build, you can buy an used processor and gpu, or even a complete computer. Like the Ryzen 5 3600 and Gtx 1080ti 11gb is going for very cheap used now. I bought the cpu for 50€ and the gpu for 150€. It has similar performence to an modern RTX 4060. I have a "Asus TUFF Gaming B450-Plus 2" motherboard. This board supports all the AM4 1/2/3 generation Ryzen Cpu's. "Out of the box" it supported my old 1600x/3600 and also 5600 without bios update. What i can improve overall is investing in a really good heatsink for the cpu and mabe some higher clock ddr4 memory. This all depends on what games the kid plays, if he is into older games like me, you have better compatibility & performence with older builds compared to modern builds.
@@CreativeHuckleBerry the used market can be a great resource- Just try and test the hardware before you buy if possible!
It depends on people situations. If you want a 7900xtx it would have been a great time to buy it for prime day. Me personally I’m waiting to see what happens with the next launch. I have a 7900xt and I’d only really upgrade if the 5080 makes sense. Looking at leaks though the 5080 at the proposed price of $1200 for 16 GB vram is a hard pass. If they launch the 5080 for 899 (i highly highly doubt they will) then I may pick it up. It also looks like Nvidia will come out with a 5080 super/TI so I may wait until those release to see if it’s worth it. Knowing Nvidia they will hike the prices and make it not worth upgrading. Just got to see what the real world performance is and make a decision then. I don’t usually upgrade my gpu every cycle but I do miss my Nvidia gpu because my favorite game isn’t optimized for AMD at all. Went from a GTX 970 to a 3080 to a 7900xt. Just got to wait and see what the prices are. 7900xt is still great so I’m not too upset if Nvidia jacks up prices as high as everyone thinks they will

I'd love to hear some opinons or experience on the idea of gaming in 1440p on a i5 9600k and perhaps a RTX 4070. I mostly chase higher frames in my games so I wouldn't mind playing on high/very high instead of ultra. Keep in mind that I play quite a few new releases at constant 60 FPS (30 FPS in singe or coop games) atm and still enjoy them. I've been thinking of upgrading my old GTX 1060 6gb since I am getting GPU bottlenecked in many games and I was thinking of buying a RTX 4060 ti 16 gb or something for 1080p but I am pretty certain I will get quite bottlenecked in many games on 1080p on my old CPU. Thats why I've been thinking of buying a new 1440p monitor and GPU to play on 1440p to alleviate some of the CPU bottlenecking that will occur. Buying a new GPU and 1440p monitor would cost me less then upgrading my current CPU since I need to get a new motherboard and RAM as well and I have no use for the old parts, and I'd like to get as much juice as I can from this CPU before one day I upgrade it to be able to play on 1440p. There is still room for overclocking my old i5 9600k. Also I am from Europe so computer part prices are quite different then the MSRP if people make comparison based on price of GPUs and I preffer Nvidia GPUs because of their features. Cheers guys!
@@TheCROHELLBOY well some things to consider. For games like csgo not a problem. If you were compare it to say a 5600x a budget 6 core 12 thread cpu vs the 6 core 6 thread intel cpu , there would be a decent uplift. Pending on what gpu you select also has a big impact on where your bottleneck will be. For 1080p you would be fine. 1440p will have an impact on fps. Personally I would steer you to go for a platform upgrade. 12600k would yield a 20% uplift alone. Save up and maybe go for both, gpu and cpu. Also take the used market into consideration.
@@tonypolitowicz8290 Thank you for a quick reply! A bit more info about my PC: it has 32gb of RAM and a lot of storage which I added to as years went on (2 M.2 SSDs, 2 sata SSDs and a 1 TB HDD). I never experiance much stutters besides on EfT which is quite unoptimised. I basicaly use it for gaming since I built it and I mostly play not super demanding games and older titles, for example: BG3, Persona titles, fps games like CS, Helldivers and strategy or military games like total war or Warno). Since I am in a smaller Europian country used market has redicilous prices for PC parts, so much so that sometimes there is only 2 ads for a PC part that are the same price as a newly released better part. So selling such old parts is a no go... I've had this PC for 6 years and it still does the job that I need it to (plays games without stutters and at a console level fps 😅), but I was thinking of upgrading the GPU atm to something that I would use for the next 4+ years if I am lucky, and buying a CPU and motherboard next year. Also since PC parts prices are quite different in my country on the new market what GPU would you reccomend (focusing only on performance) for 1440p right now and in the future or do you think I should stick to 1080p with my i5 9600k? Currently the 70s cards from Nvidia seem like a decent choice in my eyes. 😁
@@TheCROHELLBOY so many choices on gpu - 3060 12gb 7600xt 6750xt Used 2080 3070 on the used market 7700xt All depends on budget. Here in the states there are so many great cards used for a very reasonable price.
@@tonypolitowicz8290 I was mostly looking at the Rtx 40 series cards from retailers since the price is more reasonable. And for price something around 600-700€ (around 750$) if it can be used for more then 3 years atleast. But like I said I am more concerned with future performance then price atm.
@@TheCROHELLBOY with that budget lots of choices. 4070ti would be pretty solid.
The music is overwhelming and makes it hard to focus on what you’re saying. Which is unfortunate as what you’re saying makes sense.
@@davidroberts9099 I appreciate the feedback and I will make adjustments on my next video. Seriously thank you for the feedback.! My next video will be dropping most likely this weekend. Look for the changes and thank you for watching!!!
Same here, music is loud
Video is great
@@Alex-yk6he my new video is out and I made adjustments- thank you for the feedback and thank you for watching!
@@tonypolitowicz8290Sweet setup 😊👌🏻 I'm sure you are aware and probably do some (if not all) of this. I recommend trying a low-pass filter for the music. Possibly EQ out some 3kHz in it too. Should make it less distracting while still being in the background. Personally, music isn't needed. Compressing the VO and possibly adding some light processing would also help keep it consistent. Some exciter of some kind to brighten it 5-15% could work too.
$1500 for a rig is not a budget-friendly price
@@gelobongs well for a lot of hardcore enthusiasts 1500 dollars usd is a budget build. I agree that’s a fair amount of money. But the difference between a 750 dollar pc to a 1500 dollar pc is a huge performance difference and probably worth saving up a little more money to have the best possible performance experience without spending 3000 plus dollars. I have huge investment in my 2 main builds. Now with the used market being present saturated, there are some really good deals out there. Me personally, I typically buy all new hardware and tend to be on the flagship parts. 1500 is enough to build a very powerful pc.
@@gelobongs also thank you for the feedback!
Must suck to be that broke *laughs in rtx 4090*
@@devilshockwave23 let’s be nice 🤓 we all can’t have 4090s . I do but..
@@tonypolitowicz8290 that's fair. Lol
For smaller budgets, on intel side hands down now I5 12400f +ddr4 or AMD R5 5000 series offer great value and saving compared to "better" CPU like I7 or R7, will more than makeup if its spend on GPU.
Is the 4070ti super good value? I want to build a PC to run mhwild begin next year on high fps without issues. I don't mind spending a bit, but also don't feel like I need a 50 series card.
@@TheNoodleSaurus it’s a good card but the value is so so. The 4070 super is a very good value card. My advice will still be to hold tight. We don’t know what the mid tier 50 series cards will bring to the table. Then again if you find a great deal on the 4070ti jump on it and thank you for watching!
@@tonypolitowicz8290 thank you for the insight. My main issue with the mid 50 series is that they might not release in time, as I want to play on release (feb 28, 2025) I’ll try holding while keeping my eyes open for deals, maybe on black friday.
@@TheNoodleSaurus you can’t go wrong buying a 4070ti and the resale value will be high if you wanted to upgrade later.
