I dont fly in a middle seat, if an aisle cant be had ,I look at other flights or airlines. Always check the seats available before booking, pay for seat selection otherwise you will be unhappy,, or seats together if you not ttavelling alone.

I was 2 rows behind a family (wife, husband, and baby) were hacking like crazy and you could hear the pleghm in their lungs. It was horrible! Me and my mother were both wearing masks thankfully, but it really annoyed me that they didn't bother to say anything or give that entire family masks of their own. The wife kept coughing into her hands, touching everything... she coughed nonstop on a 15 hour flight it was infruriating. We were flying from Toronto to South Korea

Here's one I learned the hard way, having a cell phone with my intenary in the phone, I lost my phone while in the Philippines, I thought okay not that big of a deal, (I don't have a connection with my bank or credit cards on my phone, there is little information stored on my phone in that way) the problem was I could not enter the airport without showing an proof that I was schedule to leave for my flight by airport security. I was completely off the flight because of an over zealous airport security staff, which I tried to persuade to follow me to the counter for my return tickets. I had to wait for the office upstairs to open 12 hours later and had to pay again for my return flight, another grand out of pocket. Now I never fly without paper itinerary as well as the one on my phone (just in case.) another good idea is I spray paint in large scale all over my hard shell luggage my initials (black and orange) Yes, it may look weird, but I spot it a mile away and never worry about someone stealing it. LOL It might look trashy but I'm damn proud of my trashy luggage.

I always fly United over since the name change from continental to United. All over the world. No problem.

You also need to check the airplane they are flying within the airline. If the airline is flying their smallest plane then that is the rules you need to follow.

United airlines from and to Durango CO won't let you do carry-on. That way they can charge for your carry-on and then mess up what flight they put your bag on.

There's no need for TSA to recheck your bags after initial inspection, I called TSA because I fly into an area for work that has bears so I bring my handgun, he told me that I can use personal non-TSA locks on all of my luggage and that if they did need to open them for a second time for whatever reason that they would come and get me so that I can unlock it for them. There have been too many thefts to use TSA keys, they even sell TSA master keys online. Edit - Don't forget to have a hidden airtag in all of your bags or important items.

I have a question: What about purchases made at the airport? Are airlines counting snacks and last-minute souvenirs as a personal item if they don't fit into your carry-on bags? I've always been able to bring a bag of items purchased at the airport without any issues. Yesterday, I had a separate bag with a sandwich I bought at the airport and the gate agent for Delta was starting to ask me to consolidate but then said it's should be fine. I don't want to pack hot food from the airport into my carry-on bags with my electronics so I need clarity about whether they would count airport purchases in your carry-on limits?
