It's not really about speed, or getting there 20 mins earlier with the 235, it's about the huge useful load, especially with those outback runs.

As a CFI in the 80's I owned an A-152 to give basic +G aerobatic maneuvers to my students as well as for biennial flight reviews. One important thing I stressed to all the people I flew with is that THIS A-152 is built WAYYYyyyy stronger than the standard C-152 or commuter versions. A standard C-152 CANNOT be used to show your girlfriend snap-rolls or other hard maneuvers without hurting or BREAKING the airframe !! Tail sections can fail, engine mounts deformed, battery trays fall into the engine compartment if these structures were not all designed to handle aerobatic load factors. Other FBO's renting the normal planes have seen their aircraft damaged by dumb pilots who did NOT get "the memo".

An underpowered heap with six seats to insure...no wonder Piper has spent the last 30 years in and out of bankruptcy.

This might be asking a bit much, but can you mates please post more aerial pictures of Murray Bridge and possibly Tailem Bend? I moved to the USA back in 1978 and your videos are making me a little nostalgic.

Believable .. I guess an A36 is significantly more expensive. A B55 seems perfect to me. Love a B58. Could settle for a C182. Always love a Mooney:-).

Dude 19:51 bought himself something to grow into. I’ve had that aircraft since 1999. It’s a lot of plane for a low hour, non instrument pilot. Complex prop, gear, high speeds. Heavy. Glides like a typewriter.

Nothingnl wrong with it. Load them then up on a warm day and your probably making bad decisions. Probably wont fina a light twin for personal use or training with that fuel burl and lower cost engines

I have a 1970 Cherokee 180 and I love it. The extra 5 inches of back seat room in the Archer would be nice to have, the taper wing I don't care about or see any advantage to. I owned a Cessna before the Cherokee and I believe the ride is smoother in the Piper. It also somehow seems more fun to fly and has better visibility in the pattern. For those who like to look straight down, take the Cessna, and a sick sack. My wife gave the Piper two thumbs up over the Cessna.

  • @davewitter6565

The tapered wing gives better climb performance with 180 hp fixed gear, even when you compare it to the 200hp retractable gear, Hersey Bar winged Arrow.

I owned a 64 model. The 235 will outfly, out carry and out perform a 182 and they cost less than a 182. You could put 4 grown adults, 84 gallons of fuel and run it a bit over 150 mph. Mine burned 13 gph and was STCd for mogas. The 235 is a hoss.

Great video guys, The B58 is still the nicest aircraft I’ve flown, Beechcraft really do build great aircraft, even in stalls and steep turns they’re super stable, the E55 would be a fun aircraft to fly !!
