I'm 62 and we are living in Florida- can you set up a retirement game plan for us?
I’ve been researching long-term care insurance options for 2025, and honestly, it’s overwhelming. Costs keep rising, and I’m worried about how quickly they can drain retirement savings. What’s the best way to protect yourself financially without overpaying for coverage?
You’re right, long-term care costs can spiral out of control. One mistake people make is choosing the cheapest policy without understanding the limits on coverage. Many retirees end up stuck with large out-of-pocket expenses because their policy doesn’t cover inflation-adjusted care costs. It’s so important to plan for rising expenses, especially in the next decade
A big issue I see is that some retirees wait too long to get coverage, and by the time they need it, their premiums are sky-high, or they get denied due to health issues. Starting early is critical. Another common pitfall is not diversifying your financial plan. Long-term care isn’t just about insurance-it’s also about investing wisely to cover what insurance doesn’t
Speaking of investing wisely, I’ve worked with a CFA, Joseph Nick Cahill, who’s helped me make huge strides in securing my retirement. He specializes in improving portfolios for people who feel behind or worried about retirement. I started with him after realizing I wasn’t prepared for unexpected costs like long-term care, and he offers free consultations if you want to explore options

One thing retirees often overlook is having a portfolio that grows while still maintaining a safety net for emergencies. I used to think I had to choose one or the other, but with the right advice, you can structure your savings to do both. That’s where a skilled advisor makes all the difference-mine showed me how to protect my assets while keeping them productive
Insurance is one piece of the puzzle, but don’t forget to think long-term about your finances as a whole. Advisors like Joseph Nick Cahill can help you not only find the right insurance but also make your investments work smarter. It’s all about balancing your risk tolerance and retirement goals. I’ve seen firsthand how his strategies help people achieve peace of mind.
if you got money - original Medicare if you dont, Advantage; both work say 90% of the time. what's unfortunate is the rich get a better plan than the poor - are we surprised?
just curious, what rights do we give up? i get the freedom to fly and be free of the shackles of managed care but what other rights?
final comment on that freedom thang - folks most of us have always had managed care, whether on the market itself or through work. advantage plans are what you are use to. Perfect? nope. needs reform? yup. a hell hole that all get sucked into and die? nope/eventually. the rich have always had concierge medicine/Medicare original.
i love all this freedom lingo - im beginning to understand it's really code for - if you are rich and can fly to ca, stay in a hotel, rent a car and do it all again next month then you have the FREEDOM to choose your medical care anywhere - yeah baby!!!!!!! most retirees i know, don't have that kind of cash, let alone pay the high price for medicaire original/gap/dental/drugpartD/hearing/vision.
First time hearing of this type of pension.
If you collect ss retirement early and are still working, can you put some of your working income directly into a traditional IRA account so it doesn't count as income earned above the limit allowed?
People do need to understand that any money taken, from any annuity type, that is not principal, will incur a 10% tax if the annuitant is under age 59.5, even in a taxable account.
When you have people like Meathead Johnson who is trying to destroy Social Security for Seniors and Medicare benefits also . Louisiana should be proud to have someone like that in office. He is one disgusting 🤮 human being who should be impeached and removed from office
Isnt a hybrid pension , you can lose money its like a FIA / Variable ?
what is point to point mean?
Question, If I turn 65 in October of 2025 and plan to start collecting then will my income before October count against my SS earnings limit? Also, would it be better to wait until January of 2026 to start my benefits?
OMG! I have been watching financial videos for 20 years on RUclips. FINALLY somebody explained all the different annuities at one time in a way so simple. You will get my business and THANK YOU! (Now could you clear up Charitable remainder trusts for me, just kidding)
I take a number of prescriptions and I read the max deductible for advantage plans can be up to $7000 annually, while with regular Medicare it's capped at $2000. That seems fairly significant to me. And a free gym membership, which everyone touts, despite the fact most people I know aren't using it, isn't going to make up that difference. 🙄
Larger annuities more fees three annuities 3 fees. Laddering is good if the math is there. Hybrid is a made up word. It is to sell the product.
Do insurance companies provide higher payments on an immediate annuity if there is a medical condition, such as, stroke, diabetes, cardiovascular disease history or any other potential life-shortening ailment?
No one ever mentions if your social security earnings count towards your monthly limit
I have watched 4 of you guy video and I am as confused as a termite in a yoyo😢 on hybrid pension
In Rome is what we call now SPIA
If I retire at 62.. could I suspend my retirement and go back to work fulltime?
i am on aish and cpp disabilty and i only make 1500 a month
I've never heard about hybrid pension.
Just retired a month ago. Have a pension from my job. Sold our house and want to look into a hybrid pension with the equity we got off of our house. Who should I talk to?
Feel free to call our office and someone would be happy to help schedule a meeting with us. 👍. 408-502-7080 or Email kai@retiringoptions.com
I’ve been watching soooo much 🤯 should have just watched your videos.
Thank you for your support!
So educational!
I'm 63, can I buy an immediate annuity for my 62yo brother to help him out financially?
Susan and Joe start out the same year have different results. Makes no sense, unless they returns in different years. This example is not clear.
First time
So fixed index hybrid pension is the way to go? Right
They are exceptions to switching plans, especially for 20 2570 advantage plans our being discontinued
INCOMPLETE INFORMATION please do your research. Advantage frequently denies claims, even while you are in hospital and too sick for repeated appeals The insurance company decides in your care -regardless of your doctor’s recommendations Medigap /original Medicare is primary and your doctor and you decide on your care - NO PRE-APPROVAL - if Medicare covers a treatment and your doctor prescribes you can have it Medigap network is the ENTIRE USA with any doctor or hospital as long as they accept Medicare Plan G Or N has no surprises which is great for fixed income folks BTW: Advantage plans pay a lot more commission to agents than original Medicare Supplement with Medigap
I have watched a lot of your videos and I'm getting more and more confused. I like what your saying I just don't understand
Can you transfer a 401k into a fixed index annuity, if so. will there be any penalties moving to the annuity?
So far I have found this channel to be the most comprehensive and understandable. Straight to the point and giving opinions. Whereas many other videos have too much fluff. Thanks you!
Thank you so much!
I'll be calling you soon.
What is your take on the Allianz 222 FIA?
So what are the best Pension Hybrid?
Everyone’s situation is unique, so to determine the best product for you, we’d need to understand your specific needs. Please give us a call! 😊 408-502-7080.
Showing a real monthly statement of what an anuity buyer would get is worth more than all the explanations. Example, "Tom bought this annuity for 500k, his 1 year if monthly statements look like this" You can list his age etc...but the person watching your video can see the the "ACTUAL" monthly "DISTRIBUTION"
By far your most confusing video yet, too many analogies and graphics. Keep it simple with bullet points
What type of Annuities do you to are invested in
Loved you video. Since now, I know terminology. Couple years I was confused with these words. I wish you repeated: Supplemental plan=Medigap. Advantage plan=Meicare plan C (which is not Medicare, it is a private managed care from Private companies, for PROFIT)
One thing they didn't mention. It is my understanding that an average Medicare Advantage patient cost Medicare more than the average patient with traditional Medicare and a Medigap policy. One of the reasons we chose traditional Medicare and a Medigap policy to to help preserve the Medicare program.
OK, it’s obvious you have people working for you and then when they secure a plan they get compensation and you probably get a cut of it as well. I know it does not come out of our pocket. I’m just saying….
