Turn academic papers into AI podcasts

Google is developing a platform that uses AI to transform academic papers into cosy podcast-style discussions. Is this just another AI gimmick, or could it be genuinely useful?

Fabulous, thanks for the creative presentation!😂 I love the Loop icon in the curio shop window - Genius. I look forward to your next installment as it matures....
Great explanation
Can transfer PDF files to Loop yet
I just listened to one of the discussions. Like ChatCPT output, it seems formulaic, with no real engagement with the question. There are many much better ways of helping students understand a paper than this. Don’t get me wrong, I hope this becomes useful but it’s not there yet.
Every August I fiddle around with existing and new (to me) apps, in the usually vain hope that they will make life easier for my students and/or me. This year I am looking for something that my students can use in collaborative writing exercises. I’ve looked again at OneNote and rejected it for being too complicated. I’ve been using Loop for a while, but your video tells me it might be the answer. Thank you!🙏
best explanation so far for a system manager community - abstract, but much more easy to understand the principles , so finally I can put order to all these great trips and tricks
So where are the workspaces or the components within them actually stored? Who's storage does the component draw from?
Loop components are materialised as .loop files and stored in their creator's OneDrive space .... except the components that were created from a channel post in Teams: those ones are stored in the Sharepoint supporting the considered channel. Users can (in my opinion, they even should) move their .loop files from OneDrive to Sharepoint before sharing them, so that they can survive after their creator leaves the organisation.
@@AlainNissen Thanks. At least that part is consistent - one drive or SharePoint.
Tied to account of creator which is the one thing I really wish msoft would address or explain in details why it is the case and how companies can plan for the lifetime of the loop files after an employee leaves
Thanks for clearly explaining what Loop actually is!
❤😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I really like the Hotspot function in Moodle.
This really helped me out. Thanks
When i record video, custom cursor displays s normal in recorded video
An excellent session!
I routinely listen to RUclips videos that break down research papers. This would be great for the niche papers that nobody will ever make a video about. The trick will be to keep it engaging over time and especially for longer papers.
I guess the theory here is that different voices, and the informal tone, will keep it engaging. Length is interesting - the examples provided all seem to generate a conversation of about 5 mins.
Please make this a reality! It has the potential to open doors for countless individuals. Beyond merely making research papers accessible to academics, it can transform research literature into something that is more engaging, understandable and interpretable for nearly everyone.
I wonder if some academics will resent hard research being made accessible in this way - and argue that students should have to learn to navigate through complex material without such aids? The old 'I had to do it, so my students should too' argument?

I usually find these 'How to' video difficult to follow or to focus on, but this one is great. Good pace, clear and concise. Answered all of my questions in one place after searching the internet for hours. Thank you
Thanks so much! It is brilliant to hear that this was helpful to you!
This brilliant stuff, really helpful
Thank you!
This video is great, but would be even better if you added captions/subtitles!
Thank you for this! You are quite right about the captions - I haven't quite got my head around how to set them up yet, but will work on it!
And it's showing similarity 92 % but the last date is over how i can delete assignment from bpp hub can u please help me
Hi! You are probably better speaking to someone at your own University or institution about this - try contacting your tutor, your student support or your IT department, and they should be able to advise.
Hello i need to delete my assignment
🎉 Wow, I loved this video!
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Have you ever experienced students having access on PC, but not on mobile device? Students are logged in with same credentials in both cases.
I haven't come across this - but in truth I wouldn't be at all surprised by it. It may have something to do with mobile devices using O365 apps needing to be 'managed' or run through an authenticator. Let's be honest - we only really use Stream because we are required to for data protection reasons. Otherwise it is a fiendishly unreliable and convoluted way of sharing media content.
Great stuff!
*Promosm* 💖
Great stuff! Really useful and simple
what theme are you using?
We are using the Edwiser theme.
the second option isnt pointing when I open excel, word etc
You video is excellent. I have a question for which I am trying to answer. I am creating several self-enrolling classes for my organization. I was wondering if there is a way that I can create a section somewhere on the dashboard that will allow students to just scroll below the required courses to the self-enrolled courses and select the course for which they wish to enroll. I only want to show those courses in the particular section I want to create. Thank you. Tony
Hi Tony! There are a couple of ways you might be able to do this if you have admin rights. You can set up the new Course Overview block with a custom tab, or you can use the Filtered Course List and create a filter to show only self-enrollable courses.
Solid tune ;-)
Please ! make a video on how you created this awesome homepage and login page
The homepage comes as standard with the Lambda theme. This theme doesn't appear to work with the new Moodle however, so we have now switched to Edwiser - which enables the creation of something very similar, but does need a bit of CSS / html tweaking (which I got ChatGPT to do for me!)
Thank you! You made it look easy
Thanks!!
Thank you. Your video made my day easier and I appreciate that.
Faltu sob 👺👺
Thanks for the video! I'm using the free version of Moodle and would like to change the orange color in the android and iPhone apps. Could you please guide me how can we do that in free moodle version? Thank you!
Great video thank you.
Wonderful..
thanks for sharing - very informative, and a really good (funded, supported) model :)
Very useful. Thanks.
Great, thx for your help
