Wow how boring to watch
Another fg poxy amateur.
A genius at work 👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks for your great video and information. 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great job but why not take central heating bracket off? Two screws ?
100% truated resource here.
What do you use with the straight edge to push down the wallpaper to cut?
@@asmachughtai9855 hi you can get it in most decorating stores for applying most wallpapers it’s a plastic spatchla thanks
You made a easy job very hard, also you made 3 extra cuts instead of 1 double cut at the top right corner to the top to the ceiling line.
If you put lining paper horizontally do you go round all room perimeter with one sheet? Also how to deal with wall lights?
did well finding a customer to pay for it find to many people want to pay peanuts and expect it to last
Any tips for repainting the recessed lights surrounds? When you repaint a ceiling white or near white they can look very dirty.
😴😴😴😴
Great video and very informative. As part of the prep do you use caulk to fill any gaps between the spindles and the bottom rail?
Hi Gerard - Nice work thanks very much - can you please recommend a type of paint for top coat? looking for a satin finish, I'm worried water based won't be hard wearing enough?
Hello 👋Could you suggest a Top quality, durable & scrubbable, water-based paint, I can use for my bathroom, which can withstand moisture exposure 💦 ? it's to paint over old yellowed gloss on wood surfaces which I have already sanded ? Thanks 👍
Dont you take the handles off.
Hi do i need to water it down ? If so how ? For painting window sashes
Been there. What i found for every bad one you got ten good ones one coat on everything
Quality job
Top man. Cheers for the tips.
Brilliant thank you! Perfect way to do it 😊
I could listen to this guy all day, his videos teach me a lot, what a lovely fella
Soul destroying for you,but head down, radio on,do your best and move on.Pays the bills if nothing else.Good luck to ya👍
I have a bubbling and soft to the touch, powdery plaster walls.
linssed paint is still the best on bare timber doesn't split or peel just wears off with uv etc straight 1-2 coats maintenance the primer coat will never come off only issue with it is 3 day re coat time
as a sole trader you have to do exteriors in winter otherwise you won't get all your exterior work done in the year and leave customers waiting till next year and quite a few won't wait
I wouldn't add owatrol oil in paint on interiors it makes oil paint go yellow faster I used it in crown next gen gloss and it yellowed much faster than the one without it also it makes the paint softer good for exteriors were it makes the paint more flexible
Hi Phill great video so thank you
thank you question apply skirting board before lining paper or after ? really great video thanks
thank you

I could watch you day and night, loving these vids. Ive a big lining paper job coming up,wish me luck
Thank you for all the great videos Gerald. Ive watch almost all of your vidoes they've helped me a ton. You're a great teacher, whos experience and expertise is obvious and I really appreciate you sharing as much as you do. Merry Christmas Gerald and thank you again.
Hi Gerard, when lining under/for a finish wallpaper, do you line around the window corners (and other external corners for that matter) or do you stop short of the corner bead and leave the actual corner bare? It's just that sometimes I have noticed that having two layers of paper around an external corner can sometimes look a little "lumpy" for want of a better expression. Also have you used the wallrock lining paper (paste the wall?). Many thanks.
What trimming knife do you use.. ??
Was the piece of paper above the window lined up with the piece below the window? Would have been good to see how upper and lower came together at the other side of the window?
yehm what do you do at the actual wall corner, cut into it or fold around it?
Ty great tutorial
The name Aqua means it is waterproof Johnstones have a complete Aqua coatings .
oh my god just get to the point! next video, "replace a battery in your fire detector" place your bets how long is that video going to be.
Is it true that if you put some lemon juice in the water when your're making filler, it smells nice when you come to sand it ?
Shows you how to paper round a window (ye know) while telling the old 'interior designor' story. Painters are the only trade who slag off their own kind. I've been one for over 40 years and constantly hear this same story about the hero 'getting recommended' and saving the day. (Ye know) The constant gossip and bitching has dented the confidance of a lot of young guys in the trade, imagine being an apprentice an having to listen to that self agrandising all day : the papering demonstration was secondry to the gossip demonstration, that was what he really wanted to talk about. People in general won't pay what a job is worth, so dont blame the tradesman for having to hurry and save time/material where he can to try to make a profit. There are wee fishwives like this at every company in the country...(ye know) Better suited to sucking up to people than making videos ye know.
You get through them pretty quickly, haha! It's just taken me a whole day to do one of these.I I've only painted once before and my eyesight is not so good now so nightmare.I still haven't done the frame, I've left it for tomorrow, then there's the glass to clean up.God bless painters, I wish I'd married one.
Ah well at least you got 1 done it’s all about patience 😃
So I’m just wondering, I apply all of my paint with a sprayer but I’ve been trying to learn to paint better by hand. I see you lay everything out with the roller after you use the brush to lay it out. I always get better results with the roller and feel like I just make it worse with the brush. Any advice? Could it be the brush or do you add floetrol or anything to your paint? Great job! Panels look great
Hi milo floetrol would give you more working time with your paint if you order on line roller sleeves from 2 fussy blokes there sleeves give you a perfect smooth finish.
Do you lay it out again with the brush after on door panels or trim? Thanks!@@gerardoneillhandpaintedkit9714
You are the man my friend. Wonderfully explained and demonstrated.
Thanks Gerard. I must get up my ladder and do the facia boards…..
Hi Gerard I hear good things about the aqua guard for the wood work but also that it kills the brushes very hard to clean out Any views ? Cheers.
Great Vid, I have a few intricate shapes to go around so this was a great help. The Caulk tip was a first for me, I'll give it a go.
