every time i see this show, i have new favorite scenes'. I love Kevin-Wayne scene in season 1 finale, also the scene in S3E3 for the man who burn himself" they did not take me scene".

There are several scenes that I love from the series as well, Patti and Kevin's conversation at the well in Season 2, Matt's confrontation with the pretender to be God on the boat in Season 3, and Nora and Wayne's conversation at the end of Season 1.

This series has so many moving overwhelming moments. And it has less than 30 episodes

The Nora, Matt, and Laurie scene is so beautiful! Nora needs to do something that is irrational, but Matt who is a pastor and Laurie, a psychologist, don't try to convince her of anything. They just love her the way she needs to be loved. They don't use God or science to change her mind. They actually understand the depth of her pain as much as someone can without experiencing it themselves. Hardly ever does this happen in reality.

I also love the scene where Patti and Kevin are at the bottom of the well. It shows Patti's vulnerability and why she is the way she is. The writers showed all the characters including Patti are dealing with the same darkness. The same darkness all people deal with. Some just have to face it due to circumstances.

The Leftovers is such a great show! I've been there where Grace is with her loss of faith in God. I once was a Christian pastor who is now an atheist. Not a asshole atheist! I still respect truly good people who are believers. I still want people to have their version of hope and coping. Many would think that now that I'm an atheist that this would mean I never was a true believer. Nah! I remember feeling what I thought was God. I still feel that feeling as an atheist and know it's just chemicals in my body making me feel this way. I'm still spiritual, but I just don't put a god into it. I also relate to this show so much because I also know what it is like to lose my faith in people including my parents and ex wife who cheated on me. The Leftovers is really about dealing with losing faith in others who have hurt you and dealing with the existential crisis over not finding purpose even from the perspective of someone who has it all. This show shows that money, success, and a great partner doesn't buy happiness. That's something you have to find on your own.

I think it's sweet he took Milligan's name it shows that he basically had like 2 fathers, but Milligan was more of a dad than Josto or Loy. Loy used Mike as a pawn for power and Josto almost kept forgetting the kid existed. Milligan could relate and never wanted him apart of that life or at least those families. I feel like Mike honored that by leaving and starting his own crew, and taking it name.

John Walker didn’t do anything wrong. Sam and Bucky are such terrible people in this show.

I loved this show and all the storylines. But John and his story is what got me most excited to tune in each week

To continue your LoTR analogy, John Walker is the Boromir of this story, a person who is ultimately brave and wants to do the right things to protect people but also falls to temptation, flaws, and mistakes. And just like Boromir still came back from that bad decision to do the right thing, Walker came back from the darkness of pain and trauma and vengeance to also do the right thing. He’s the tragic fallen hero whose tragedy is that he was trying to be a hero in a story that unfortunately never meant for him to be the hero.

Kevin Feige said always that the movies must work for themself without having seeing other movies that's why they have done the connecting stuff in the end credit scenes. That's why he said the films are for casuals. The idea is you don't have to see everything but if you do it enriches your viewing. You think this leads to people not caring. It would be worse if they would need to see it cause then you lose the audience. What Feige achieved with the mcu is that people have the feeling they need to see it they crave to see it to have all the easter eggs. Even though the movies and the shows stand for themself. What else you don't seem to get - the shows don't matter for like the next big bad overarch evil that is coming but they matter if you want to feel connected to the universe more. that's why the people watch it. WandaVision enriched the character you saw the tragedy of Wanda you saw the love between Vision and her etc. And you think with patch work dceu the dceu even has a chance sorry disagree there
