My initial purpose for this channel was to share my love for Briar and Meerschaum pipes, various pipe tobacco's that strike my fancy, and various tips and tricks of the hobby as I did in my previous channel "pipethought". Now, with a name that more accurately describes my nuttiness, I enjoy editing all sorts of content and vlogs without the intent of monetizing. So if there are ads on my videos, they are initialized by RUclips, not me. I am ever so slowly learning how to edit my content, so please bare with me as I explore all the ways I can make myself look like an idiot on the internet. :D

I’ve decided that touch screen editing requires far too much meticulous energy than I care to invest in. My future uploads may be more time lapse oriented or simply shorter updates with minimal if any editing. I hope all of you are doing well and have ended this week on good note. Cheers! Much appreciated and thanks for watching.
You’re welcome! ❤❤❤
Dude this good video is awesome thabk you fir the thorough no bs talk talk talk im starting an outfit that runs there i feel alot more confident i can read signs ans hope i will do just fine ! I will memorize these exact and writr them down cheers man! Thank you for true and accurate directions 👏 i cant wait to see what trucking is truly about sir keep trucking man !
I’m glad it helped you. Good luck!
Edited, unedited ... they're all very enjoyable ... keep on truckin' ;-)
Thank you kindly, cheers!
Keep doing them unedited as long as needed. It's nice to see and hear from you like a real conversation. LOVE that meer!
Thank you and Meer thanks you too!
Well, Daniel, count me in the group that is glad that you can't easily edit. Your stream-of-consciousness videos are cracking, mate. Linguistic pratfalls and oopsies (see, I know all of that technical jargon) are just fine. The time-lapse video is definitely a keeper format. RUclips live - an interesting concept. Seeing what you see with a running commentary could be both interesting (and revealing?) That's a fine looking Meerschaum. I remember reading someone's guide on how to 'properly' handle and smoke a Meerschaum. Rule 1 was to never handle the pipe without wearing chamois gloves. Even white cotton gloves would not protect the waxed coating from the oils on your hands, I recall another 'guide' that suggested that the bowl should be kept inside of something like a large glass jar to maximize the bowl's exposure to the tobacco smoke. That always sounded like a recipe for an impending disaster. If the idea is to let the meerschaum color naturally and uniquely, I'd take your approach. Smoke the pipe when you can and however you enjoy smoking it. So it doesn't color 'perfectly', great honk! My man, you're looking good - be well and keep movin' on down the righteous path of awesome - peace ✌
I appreciate it Mr. Skipton. I can tell your technical jargon is on point like mine. 😂 Hopefully it is only but a stream of consciousness and not a waterfall. And yes, I’ve seen those videos that speak of glove wearing and such. Perhaps one day I’ll obtain these gloves and be one of the higher ranked pipesters. Until then, sweaty truckers hands it is. Thank you for the encouragement. Cheers!
Beautiful big meerschaum you’ve got there.
I love it! It smokes like a champ. Cheers!
from where to where
Utah, Nevada, California, Nevada, Utah. And repeat. Occasionally Oregon, Arizona and some random Midwest state.
Nice territory, Daniel - nice variety of landscape and views. Best that your new company has lived up to your initial impressions 👍Be well and keep it on the awesome side - peace ✌
Thanks Skipton. They have most certainly lived up to their claims. It’s non stop miles and my bills appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
Hey, Daniel, great to see you and to hear that your new company is a big step up. Best that it just keeps getting better. OK, you who can thread the needle in NYC and elsewhere undoubtedly inserted your big trailer into that teeny tiny slot without breaking a sweat, right? When you were talking about doors, I imagined you being asked - "Do you want door number one, door number two, or door number three. Tell him what he might win, Don." Ah, the insistence of signs - Sign, sign, Everywhere a sign, Blockin' out the scenery, Breakin' my mind, Do this, don't do that, Can't you read the sign?"" - try not thinking of that the next time you see a cautionary or advisory sign 😉 Your great circle route sounds good. Oh the places you'll go and the people you'll meet when you frequent industrial areas. There you will meet unique personalities doing uniquely unconventional things and asking uniquely unanticipated questions. You need not worry about eating a torusly formed foodstuff with sprinkles. Obviously a nought shaped food would have a calorie count of nought. Be well, sir, and keep on cruising the highways of awesome - peace ✌
That calorie count of nought is the dream isn’t it? 😅 hopefully this company continues to show promise as I navigate this new terrain. Thank you for the comment and encouragement good sir!
AMAZING MUDIC AND EDITING! SUPER COOL!! 🌟✨
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for saving the booty views for me. Much appreciate. ❤❤❤
Umm, Scuse Achu… What will my wife say when she finds out about your affinity to my booty? 😘😘😘
Much congratulations, Daniel 🥳👍 It sounds like you need a custom booty cushion to shift you leftwards, but not much ... The interior seems to be a bit of an upgrade although that semi-lack of privacy will need to be addressed - much ... Your guided tour and narrative are just too much 😂Most of all, best that you will find that you are much appreciated (and compensated) by Pride Transport. Be well and keep it on the awesome side - peace ✌
Haha, I will need to customize some sort of posterior angular lift to make me a little more level. 🤣 thank you as always for watching Skipton. Cheers!
Good luck with the new company. Take care, Janez
Thank you sir!
Is there now a direct path from Sheridan blvd to Edgewater rd that takes you straight in and out of Hunts Point?
I haven’t been given these specific directions from my company. But if it exists, I would enjoy it very much.
Man, Daniel, your pay hassle sucks big time. There's no excuse for putting a load on hold "because". The fact that no one can give you a 'why' is more than suspicious. All the best in finding more reliable employment with a company that respects its employees - all of its employees - and Congratulations!!! on getting your HazMat qualification. Your hairdo transformation from Dali to DaVinci to GQ was amazing. You will be an astounding perpetual 39, my man 👍 I've got 3 more birthdays before I am twice your now 'age which must not be mentioned' 🚫 but birthdays and age are overrated. If you don't tell, I won't either 😂 Be well and keep it awesome - peace ✌
🤐 We shall keep the masses guessing with our conspicuous and misleading gray hairs. 🤣 all they need to know is that we’re fashionable and dare I say trend setters. Thank you for the well wishes. I will need them and five more semi loads of them.
@@neuralglitch Fashionable trend setters - spot on! Five more semi loads of well wishes - on their way. Cheers!

Sounds like Alvin and the chipmunks
Ha! Yeah, I talk to myself a lot when I drive. The video sped up kept the time down while making me sound ridiculous. It helps keep me fractionally sane. 🤣
Responsibly?!? That sounds like mature adult talk, sir. 🤣 luckily the trip went smoothly and am currently frolicking through the prized state of Wisconsin. Perhaps I’ll gain a whole new level of cheesy while here. Thanks for watching!
What can I say? Where do I start? Let's begin with 'my normal self'. 🤔Well, Daniel, since you are the one doing it, when is whatever you do not being your normal self. I suppose those times when you have an out-of body-experience might qualify as paranormal rather than normal 😉Moving on to your meal - an excellent choice! Honeyed sausage oatmeal topped with trail mix - maybe a little chopped apple might be a nice addition. So, your driving expertise comes from your hair - fair enough, but keep it long enough to avoid the Samson effect. OK, the X Wing fighter is fully two levels above sweet. Well done, sir! The overview and demonstrations were superb 👍💯 Use the armaments and lasers responsibly. All the best on your 2200 mile trek. Be well and keep walking (or driving) on the awesome side - peace ✌
Well, damn, Daniel - you landed for a pick-up in my hometown. Porterville (originally known as Portersville) was home for over 20 years until I joined the Navy (not long after the era of tall sails and wooden ships 😉) It is in the heart of the citrus area of the San Joaquin Valley. Great review, my friend, done in your own (cliche alert) inimitable style. I do believe that you have added a new word to the vocabulary of pipe smoking, "to doddlize, past tense doddilized". Think of how much richer you have made the language of pipe smoking, "doddilize, doddilization, doddilify, doddilocity, doddilism". I haven't had that particular tobacco, but it checks all the boxes of the type of blend that I like. That pipe, sir, is just the ticket for a long, long smoke. A big bowled pipe really lets a tobacco develop while you are smoking it. Yeah, I hear you on reserving pipes for specific tobaccos - a nice idea, but financially impractical. Being a student on a tight budget when I took up the pipe, I only had a couple of pipes. They got packed with whatever tobacco I was exploring at the moment. Thanks for fine tobacco review 👍💯 Be well and stay on the road of awesome - peace ✌
To follow the ancient practice of Doddilism is to sacrifice one’s own doddilicity for greater dottle. 😂 It was only a matter of time before I’d be assigned to the “citrus patch”, as my driver manager put it. It’s a beautiful area to have lived in! My reviews are definitely something. 😂 even the grain of salt takes my reviews with a…well, fraction of itself. lol. Thanks as always for watching!
@@neuralglitchWell-said, sir - but beware of the dawdling doddler! They are only one misstep away from forsaking doddling for doodling 😟
@neuralglitch Thanks for allowing the incorrect, but useful spelling of dottle. Doodle is a lot more fun to say - poetic license and all that 😊
@@skipton9511 🤣🤣🤣 I’m the world record holder of poetic licenses. That’s how I pass as “sane”. 😬
@@neuralglitchAnd pass you do, with flying colors - have a good one!
The fruitiness at the end of the could also be the tobacco itself. Many of the Rattrays tobaccos have that raisin or fig aroma. Nice video! Greetings from Germany 😊
I suppose it could be the blend itself. It’s interesting how many variables are present when discerning a blend, a challenge worth the effort. 😄 Many thanks for watching!
And miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep. Sweet mashup of visuals and music, Daniel 👍 You cover it all - nearly deserted two-lane road and dense urban freeway, sunrise to sunset, daylight to tail light. Still waiting for the next epic air fryer entrée. Be well and keep it awesome - peace ✌✌
Thank you Skipton. Many miles, many video clips ruined by bad audio. My recordings have been fraught with technical difficulties as of late, so hopefully I’ll remedy them soon and showcase more of my culinary, erm, creations. 😅
Time to pursue cinéma vérité - complete POV. Just include a few quick takes of your own commentary, Daniel. That would be missed. You had one particularly gorgeous sunrise in this post. Surprisingly, for February - nothing looked to wintry. That's been the story here are our one and, so far only snowfall (of which all traces disappeared exactly one week later). Any new on-the-road meal creations. Be well, my friend, and stay on the righteous road of awesome - peace ✌
Thank you sir. Perhaps a blurb or two may appear in the spotlight. And maybe a meal. 🤣
You are a tough man. Take care, Janez
Haha thank you sir. The only part that is tough is my hair. It can never be controlled. 😂
They finally made bridges so trucks can drive through. U otr?
Yes OTR. I was delivering a meat load from Kansas. Funny thing is I just got done delivering another meat load today, same from and to. Pretty doable as long as you engage some intense vigilance.
I see the roads are new
Still bumpy as hell though. 😂
Ok I'm bout to work for hurricane express they do loads going that way from Cali so I'm just watching videos getting familiar wit the area bet for your first trip going to hunts point was real intense wit the roads and low bridges. Thanks for doing that video it definitely help
@@levanderwashingtonjr3850 Nice. Lots of miles then. Well, good luck!
So a weather shutdown kept you stationary 'weather' you wanted to be or not. High winds and ice certainly are not a healthy combination no matter what size vehicle you have. In my younger days, sonny, I drove a VW Bug - not very high sided, but no weight either 😬Cold, canned spaghetti with meat sauce - yum although my preference runs to sauce with no meat. Spaghetti-Os are always a treat - ditto cold pork and beans. Whoa, that is some heavy sugar load. That must present a few safe driving challenges. Glad that you are staying safe. Be well and keep it awesome
Ah yes the Bug. The engine purr came right through thanks to minimal insulation. Had a buddy crank one up, and I think it was louder than my semi. lol
@@neuralglitch 🤣 that wasn't a VW Bug that was VW BUG
Greetings, Daniel - you've been doing some snow storm chasing, I see. Anywhere through the latitudinal middle of the country and up and down the east coast from North Carolina north has the potential for snow and bitter cold right now. Glad to see that you're staying safe. Too many drivers of all types of vehicles get overconfident and underestimate driving conditions. "The speed limit is 65 MPH so who cares if there is a quarter of an inch of ice in spots. I'm an experienced driver." They are always surprised when they have and-or cause an accident. Man, your patient, wry sense of humor impresses and amazes me, much admiration and respect my friend. You, also, happen to be a great example of one of the big benefits of smoking a pipe. There's nothing like the pipe smoking ritual to break the hold of whatever stress and frustration has on you and slow down and regroup. It can be a big boost to your mental health, and who among us doesn't need and appreciate that. Regarding the pipe shape - put me in the full bent column. The angle of the bend is not as acute as an Oom Paul which can be fully vertical. Be well, Brother Daniel, and stay totally awesome - ✌
Ah shucks, (spoken with a horrible English accent) : My hardy wry shield protects me from the grumps of the world. Tis only upon a sturdy platform of patience that any vestige of sanity stands after the sun’s retreat. (Failed attempt at sounding remotely cultured. lol) anyways, it appears the consensus sides with full bent and who am I to argue? Thank you as always for your thoughts, encouragement and ego boosts. 😁 Have a great week, Skipton!
Have a safe drive, Janez
Thank you very much good sir. Cheers!
Hey, Daniel - congratulations on the endorsements - a few steps closer to moving day. All the best on getting your hazmat endorsement. That was indeed a 'fowl' lot gathered around the runoff pond. Wild boars as in feral porkers - ah, I get it. I briefly thought that you meant wild boors 😬 It conjured up the picture of a group of rowdy, partying sales reps dashing across the road. It wouldn't have damaged the truck as badly, but might still have solved a problem for Vernon, TX 😉 Seriously, glad to see and hear that you were undamaged by the encounter - unless it awakened an appetite for hunting hogs with a truck which might be quite expensive. Be well and keep it awesome - ✌
Feral Porkers! THAT’s what I should’ve named my high school band. 🤣🤣🤣 I didn’t know boors was a thing! Learn something new everyday. And yes, Vernonites would’ve been happy regardless. lol I’ve been dubbed the “hog hunter” at my company now. So, at least I’ve established a legacy one can be, erm, proud of. Wishing you well and thanks for watching!
Happy new years
Happy new years to you good sir. Thanks for watching!
Great video, Daniel 👍 You chose an impressive collection of 'road' pipes. Those big bowl freehand pipes are just the thing for enjoying a nice, long smoke, but, yeah, unless you have jaws of iron that you can lock closed, they are not clenchers 😬 Sir, your tractor-cooked meals are not only creative, but inspired and, I have no doubt, delicious. Have you tried doing potatoes and sausages in the air fryer? Easy to do and mess free. Good to see that you have a quick and easy way to eliminate offensive 4 wheelers. Lasers are quick and stealthy. They will never see it coming 😉 'What we have here's'a failure to communicate' - I hear you. Computer generated scheduling works beautifully - provided it's based on all the pertinent data AND everybody talks to everybody else. Otherwise, it's like a kid's one-phone conversation. You describe the benefits of smoking a pipe perfectly. For a lot of us, that focused, quiet time is a welcome break from a mind that is inclined to run in hyperdrive. It's great to ride along with you, my friend. Be well and keep it awesome ✌
True, regarding the scheduling mishaps. As frustrating as they are, I must recognize their limitations and indulge in another pipe to soothe the nerves. Thank you sir and thanks for joining me in my quest to find the holy grail of truck meals. Cheers!
9:50 May the farce be with you ;-) Have a Happy New Year 🖖
Haha! Listen, I will not be subject to your farcical farcities. 😂 Thank you sir, and a happy one to you as well.
Nice pipes. I'm sure being away from family is tough. Hope you're having a great week. Haven't heard the name pipe friend in a while.
My pipes are blushing. Yeah, so many of us were inspired to post videos because of him. But alas, things change and I struggle to remember where/when I am every morning. 😂 cheers!
Weird…I could’ve sworn that I replied to this comment through RUclips studio…well, at any rate. Yes that fly was the bane of my existence. lol thank you for the comment!
Merry Christmas. Great looking pipe. Pipefriend CHS was my introduction to the YTPC.
He has been missed no doubt. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Good to hear from you. Have as great holiday season as you can. All we in 2024, Janez
Thank you very much. Cheers!
Now those are some fine looking hand pies, Daniel, or should I say 'Dan'l'? Cat be like 'stay the hell out of my box - my box, understand' 😂 Sorry to hear about the pay problem. That it may be resolved in a couple of months begs the question of why is it so easy and quick for them to underpay you and takes so long for them to pay you the difference? I guess they figure that your only option is to grit your teeth and plug away at getting the experience and hours that you need. Hang in there and stay fixed on the day when you can choose who you want to work for. A clean truck is a happy truck 😉Be well and stay awesome ✌
Ha! I’ll have stubby teeth by the time it’s all said and done. They have a shady pay structure which is shielded by an arbitration agreement basically exculpating them from any wrongdoing. It explains the astonishing turnover rate that I’ve ever seen in a company. My gaze on the horizon is steadfast and my patience is bolstered by familial/friends support. A clean truck and a pipe is all I need now. 🤣 Thank you for the encouragement good sir. 👍
Glad you got home for the holidays. Sorry to hear about the pay issue.
Well, in due time, I will take steps to hopefully avoid these issues altogether. Thank you for watching!
All right, Daniel! Good to hear that you are going home - always the best direction to be headed and the nicest scenery to see. Let's see, tuna with mustard and hot sauce - sounds good to me👍💯 One of my shipmates introduced me to sardines in mustard and, no big surprise, you always added some generous dashes of hot sauce - great stuff but there's no accounting for tastes I suppose 😉 A candy load - sure beats a meat load I imagine. (Noticed that you had a sampling of Hershey products behind you.) Your breakfast had to have been delicious. Hey, hands down, the best reckless, rude, or idiotic driver is the one that flips you off while speeding off over the horizon. The best sight of said driver is some miles up the road where they've been stopped by the authorities 😎 Best that you are reading this at home or close to it. Be well and keep it awesome - ✌ P.S. the cob was a great choice - have you run into any other pipers over the miles (figuratively that is!)
Yes the temptress container full of sugary sin. 😬 my intent was to share the majority of that with others. Oh how plans change. Haha, but luckily there’s enough left for the family. My father was a big fan of sardines and bread as an in between meals meal. He too was in the service. Cheap and nutritionally efficient is the way to go when pressed for time! I have only seen one other Piper on the road out west somewhere. The illusive trucker pipe smokers are hiding amidst the diesel fumes and blown tire shrapnel. 😂 hard to find ‘em! Thank you and thanks for watching👍👍
Oooh the Allegheny Tunnel! The locals around here hate it with a perfect hatred lol.
I see. I imagine the rumbling noises that it may amplify could be a nuisance. Was there anything else specific that locals dislike it for? Thank you for watching!
I always enjoy watching@@neuralglitch It's nice to see another pipe guy in addition to the interesting journeys. Generally in rural western PA the locals never drive anywhere outside of their own towns and hollers. So ANY highway is 'scary' hahah. And a highway with a long tunnel? Terrifying. I lived in cities most of my life so I still sometimes chuckle when people complain about four-lane highways.
Daniel, you are one bold dude. New York City is waaaay outside of my comfort zone other than to pass through on a train. Then again, I said that about driving in DC and I'm OK with that now. Well, you've made it back to the east coast albeit far north of home (although it's a straight shot down I-95). Man, it seems that you had the Schwarzenegger of flies in your cab. You didn't happen to hear it say, "I'll be back", as it exited, did you? Maybe it just caught a place to hang out on the side 😬 Love the paranoid comment - and it's exactly how I react as well. Good to see you again and wishing you all the best as you traverse the country. Be well and keep it awesome ✌
Hey, Daniel, the music was great. Loving your on the road time lapses and your commentary. Dude, you are laying down the miles. Fog is rough going no matter how used to it you are. I grew up in the San Joaquin Valley (Central Valley) of California, home of legendary fog and epic massive car pile-ups. It's an experience driving day or night when you can't see more than a few feet in front of the hood of your car. Foolhardy or hardy fools? I've no idea, but drive we did every day as if it were normal driving conditions - well, come to think of it, they were 😉 No, I suppose that meat load residue and onions would not be an acceptable delivery. How's your baccy supply holding out? You've got the time to enjoy a few good bowls to pass the miles (and while waiting for repairs). Who knew that low flying onions were one of the road hazards you faced as a truck driver? Be well, my friend, and keep it awesome - ✌
Oh man, I’ve driven through some of that fog when I was training and THAT is some serious fog. I have in fact enjoyed a few bowls but to my chagrin, I neglected to share these moments via video. I’ll try to be better at capturing those bowls of tranquil solitude in the future. As always, thank you for watching!
@@neuralglitch Be not chagrinned - unless you pass up the opportunity to enjoy a bowl. Those moments of tranquil solitude are not to be disturbed by vlogging - peace out 🤘
Truck food is the best - especially Mexican - and that looked like a great meal. Bro - running that rig through LA commuter traffic is epic - you are ready for anything. Love those time lapses (always have). So you are doing a Southwest-ish up to the Rocky Mountains-ish loop? Sounds, OK. Would you be likely to be assigned to a different region the next time you head out? Now about that snow that got into your beard. Dang if it didn't happen to me a couple of decades back. I got caught in a few light accumulations then in a couple of blizzards. 😂 Not to worry - it's that wisdom that comes with the years that is starting to show itself. Someday you will have enough snow to grow that beard very long and open up a wise man consulting business atop a hard to climb hill and the seekers will flock to hear your words or even become a guru! Best as always for safe travels. Be well and keep it awesome - ✌
Crepes
Lol thanks boo
You never escape housekeeping no matter what job you have. It seems like your home is well designed to make the task fairly easy. Oatmeal and sausage - doesn't sound bad at all. After all, oatmeal shows up in haggis. Add a little onion and garlic powder, and a few shakes of black pepper if you want another flavor layer. (Yeah, you don't need any more salt.) Hot sauce is, of course, the universal seasoning. Tending to those filters definitely makes a pleasant home environment. Anytime you are working with delivery schedules the byword is flexibility - an unrecorded Beatitude is 'Blessed are the flexible for they shall neither be dismayed nor surprised.' 😉Best for safe and comfortable travels. Be well and stay your awesome self - peace
