Heyo, my name is Chris and I go by Rufotris. I am a college student who loves rockhounding, lapidary, gold panning & a bit of gaming sprinkled in.
At the start of 2020 with everyone being home more, I found myself playing more video games and watching more TV and feeling less connected with nature each day. Rooted Rockhound is not just a name but a mission to get myself back to the natural & wild world, I have spent many days wandering aimlessly around our national forests in the last year or so as a start to reconnect my roots to our beautiful lands!

This prep method is really neat! What material is the outside made of? Is it possible to erode it off with acid or something? Just curious. 👍🏻
@@Mike-br8vb I have tried with acid and so have a few others. It seems to be so silicated that the acid doesn’t affect the outside really much at all.
Ok, I was not sure if that would've worked or not. This was the first time I've seen coral prepped in this manner. It was quite pleasing to see! Have a great day! ☕️☕️
@@Mike-br8vb I have not really seen others do it, so I figured why not. I think it’s kind of unique as far as coral polishing goes. And now I like it more than I thought I would and plan to do many more. I’m glad you like it! 🤘thank you Mike.

@@RufotrisRootedRockhound we’re doing good, got really lucky in the hurricane, all of the trees & limbs fell away from the house and cars. We just got the wind out of it,. An hour from here is where more of the flooding started. We are lucky enough to have power back. It’s impressive how fast things are coming back together in our area. There are people still missing up in alot of the rockhounding areas that we frequent, so there is still sorrow in the air

@@JulesTools23 lol. I started my weekly wrap challenge and ran out of wire and stopped for months. Finally got new wire in and plan to have a new wrap out soon! Just need to make the perfect cab shape for it first.

Amazing work on the coral.
Either a pilot hole with a centering bit or a press and a vise would be helpful to get them centered more easily. Nice new tool.
