Keyboard Input Latency Compared: Wireless BLE ZMK, QMK, and Corsair
Просмотров 20 тыс.3 года назад
I tested the input lag of a few different keyboard setups to see how the wireless BLE keyboard firmware ZMK compares to other wired options like a Corsair keyboard, a QMK keyboard, and ZMK wired. Are all of these wireless keyboards? In that case, what's the typical latency for wired keyboards?
Hello, i just got a kit and after watching your build log, i wanna make mine wireless too lol. But yours doesn't have a physical power on off switch for the nice!nano battery right?
they're big enough not to be a diy project. they're leaving money on the table.
Hey I was wondering if using a display is mandatory?
I want this with a thumbstick on the left pad
Hey chumba , my name is Anatoly, I am your subscriber from Russia. Thank you so much for the detailed guide <3 There would be more cool guys like you 😍 Now it will be easier for me to figure out what's what 🤣 You're just handsome, I wish you more subscribers and likes :*
Im your 1000th subscriber, gj man
Great analysis! Now I see why wired is so much better for gaming compared to wireless.
TIL that Nicell invented the Nice!Nano
Is it possible to install an encoder instead of one key in the thumb cluster?
what soldering iron temp were you using?
the site won't ship batteries to my country. Can anyone help with the specifications of the batteries used here?
Either they need to upgrade it to include wireless charging, or "wireless" is meaningless. I am already sick and tired of charging several devices by plugging cables in/out with two hands daily. If not wireless charging, at the least some kind of magnetic charging cable, like MagSafe, that I can operate with one hand is needed.
There are magnetic (magsafe like) adapters for normal cables, you can just buy one of those.
What would be difference on price between a wired and wireless corne keyboard? Thanks, great video.
How do you get the small pins for controller
2 month after I build similar keyboard, I still miss the numbers row, especially in Vim. Go 5 lines down: 5j, remove 3 lines: 3dd. Considering switching to a split keyboard with more rows.
Do you know that you can customize your keys layout? It's so easy to solve that with layers and behaviors on the ZMK.
@@junio.coelho Yep, I figured out how I can do it and still type numbers quickly: On right hand I have an FN2 function that activates econd layer. On left : there're two rows of numbers. So it's easy to type them with one hand. Previosly I had issues because I had FN2 on both sides and numbers were located on top row on both sides on second layer, so long numbers were very slow to type. Right now I love this keyboard, don't want to switch to anything.
@@JohnIdlewood oh, that is very good. That keyboard is really really good. Plenty of usefull features. Solved all my needs as well, like you said.
Great video! For a non-competitive gamer like myself what wireless mech. keyboard brand/model would you recommend? I'm currently using a gigabyte G5 MF (i5 12500H + RTX 4050)
A little late to the party, but I have a question: can both halves work independently? When gaming, I would only use left half... like a wireless alternative to Razer Tartarus. Can I just turn off the right one in such scenario?
pretty sure you can
Hey bro I would love to build a corne like you but I am from Europe and typeractive can't send me the batteries. Now i need someone to order them for me and ship them to europe. we would talk about the payment so that you don't go empty handed.
just order also one🎉
Sweet! If I have a Lily58 Pro already built, can simply drop in a couple of nice!nano v2's and nice views on them, after removing the Pro Micro's I have now - and run ZMK?
how do you turn it off when there is no power switch?
1:21:09 kept checking if it was my phone vibrating as I watched this video multiple times to build my corne XD
are you gonna offer the rgb version too (soldered)?
I didn’t use soldering paste , should I remove solder , add solder paste then resolder
Can you use the sections independently of each other? Meaning can I just use the left side Bluetooth for FPS games?
Hello, please. Can you tell me if the keyboard supports Via? Thank you very much in advance
Yep, it can support via or vial using qmk, if I'm not wrong when making a wireless keeb like the one from the video you should use ZMK
Is this capable of rgb led underglow and top glow (SK6812MINI-E. ) (WS2812B LED) And could I put OLED screen in place of The niceview
You could technically add lights to the keyboard but it would significantly decrease your battery life since it's wireless. The original is a wired build though so that would be no problem if you went that route.
Wow, what a nice informative video. My God. I know how much effort it would have taken. Thank You
is your last name nicell?
my last name is nicell
Thank you so much for this stream! Just used it to build my corne (soldering for the first time!) and it was super easy :)
Cool measurement!
Thanks for the video, it's great to see a technical side by side...plus the ZMK tweaks are a great reference!
still waiting for mine to complete shipping.. thanks for the stream - this and scotto's vid are both great for passing the time and prepping me for my first run on an ergo split :)
nice!!!
Thanks for watching 😄You can build your own Corne Wireless kit here tya.cx/build
Thanks for the video, the link is not working
@@RodrigoRodriguez-wl9vl Thanks for the call out on that! Fixed now.
I'm using ergonomic keyboards for years and this video inspires me to finally build my own one. The one that you did assemble in this video looks very awesome! I have two questions: 1. Is there a list with all the components that I need to buy? Or should I visit your discord for that? 2. Is there an estimated cost for this build?
Great video. Nice to see empirical testing on this stuff. Thanks 🙏
horrible background music
Quick update here. ZMK now has eager debouncing, config to get the 7.5ms polling, and "Fast USB" with 1ms polling on USB is on by default. Eager debounce config: CONFIG_ZMK_KSCAN_DEBOUNCE_PRESS_MS=0 7.5ms BLE polling config: CONFIG_BT_PERIPHERAL_PREF_MAX_INT=6 Let me know if you'd like to see an updated video with more in depth comparisons.
an updated video would be super nice, as I've been considering pulling the trigger on a few nice nanos for my dactyl build!
am subscribing for the updated video. really need this after all corsair k65 is like $150 it wouldnt be worth it. I kinda want to switch to a QMK keyboard now if it turns out to be faster. like the keychron K8, setting it to eager debounce and 1ms polling. hmm on a side note can you test redragon k552-rgb-2?
Update video would be welcomed
