The Best Loop in PLENTY GORGE? | PG Greatest Hits Vol.1 | VLOG
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.3 года назад
Time to dust off the old GoPro after a few Strava requests to give a video tour of where to go in the Gorge to hit some of the best trails. Is this the best loop in the Gorge? Surely it's close, not quite my normal route due to time pressures and recent storm damage! Anyways, enjoy some trail namesake tunes, Gorge directions and general ramble. Students (and Staff!) should aim to complete 30 minutes worth of exercise per day. The more consecutive days you complete, the more points you receive across the month. The type of activity, distance and time are not the focus - simply make sure you exercise specific activity is uploaded onto Strava and you have joined the Gilson College Strava Club. The focus is participation and consistency p...

Does Photoshop download the AI models to your machine for offline use?
Seemingly not, it suggests you have a connectivity issue and to check your internet if you attempt to use AI whilst wifi is off.
@@ryanstarrett ok, so it also uses the cloud server for generating the ai artwork and effects then
@@SteveMacSticky yep, and I guess that makes sense given it would likely take up significant storage space on a local device
Mate thanks for the gpx route of this one. Tried following along to it today, man its a maze in there but some real fun trails. 2 questions, Are you on an e bike ? And whats the best app to use to navigate whilst riding? Cheers for the video and the route
Nah not on an e-bike. Would recommend Trailforks as a fairly reliable app for the gorge. I know a couple of sections have been slightly updated or rerouted since I made this, particularly the first few sections in this video but all pretty easy to follow along for that first part of this loop.
@@ryanstarrett completed the loop again today, this time without needing to check my phone much to know where I was. Very fun! What a place! Thank you sir :)
HI, where to you park for this route please? Headng there tomorrow AM... thanks
Jolly Terrace, South Morang It is on the western side of the gorge near the main traffic lights and the Commercial Hotel in South Morang. If driving from south of the gorge then Kariboo Grove or Queens Garden is a great place to start. The tank on Goldsworthy Lane is a great place to start if coming from Yan Yean side. You can join and follow this route from any of these places. Check out the Strava routes I’ve posted, they all vary depending on the day
@@ryanstarrett Nice one, thanks for the swift reply... coming from the south, cheers
Nice video 👍
Thanks!
Not a bomb
Very controversial subject 😁 One of the best things about the Gorge is that there are so many loops to choose from
Oh yes it is hah
I moved away from melb 4 years ago and I used to ride the gorge a lot, I’ve never seen that many people there, it’s crazy busy!
You'll need to swing back through there next time your down, lots of new stuff. Lots of older stuff that's been given a revamp also
@@ryanstarrett yeah it looks like a lot of works been done on the trails. It’s funny, I live in Christchurch, we have a bike park, but I really miss riding at the gorge. I will return, oh yes, I will return.
Haha gold!! That was me and a mate crossing the plank
Next time throw a wheelie across it for us! Hah
@@ryanstarrett you gonna jump in and save me after
@@danielazzato3495 🤔🤔🤔
amazing
Glad you think so!
The way you make the cage for the snake is impressive
My handy dad show me some tricks of the trade!
@@ryanstarrett is that a carpet python?
Yeah there are a few carpet pythons there
@@ryanstarrett very beautiful snake, like green tree python in Indonesia
I recently sold a green tree python, they have nice colours 👌🏼
Go staff!!!
13 point lead as of right now :D
Oh my 🕷️Vs🐈
Great video but the music in the background was a bit distracting when trying to listen to the talking
Sorry! Evidently got carried away when editing :)
Nice, what action camera did you use?
GoPro Hero 5!

Honestly Avondale wouldn't be proud ahah
"Hypo bredell" ... yikes ahaha
Damn that sounded like shit man
where did you get that enclosure from
Hey James, this enclosure was made at home. Simply got some melamine board, some perspex, a couple of hinges, a handle, magnetic door seals and some ventilation. Maybe a couple hours work in the shed
wow the timing finding the python and WOW he is so friendly to 3 baboons jumping on him and grabbing him
Great to see so many pythons. A couple of issues: snakes should have hides on both the warm and cool sides of their enclosures, so they aren't forced to choose betwen hiding and the need to thermoregulate. Re shedding: a lot of snakes hate being misted (mine does). The most important thing is that the snake has access to clean drinking water at all times. I also keep the humidity higher than normal by heavy misting of the substrate twice per day. Re feeding: I never remove a snake's hide when he's inside it. By gently moving a prey item, warmed to 95F close to the hide's entranc, the snake will come out to feed if he's hungry. I lure the snake about one foot out to give him room to constrict his prey. Leaving the prey item wet is good: it gives the snake some water, and makes the prey item easier to swallow.
why not the zip lock defrost to stop water soaking ?
I have done that quite a bit, particularly with fussy eaters - one of mine right now actually. I've found that many will take it done either way, however if I have zip lock bags around it definitely can't hurt as the scent is probably less 'washed away'
Very informative!! Great editing
Thanks Taylor, I'd like the time to make more!
this video just made me get up out of my chair and get a python and everything a python needs to survive
That's awesome! Hopefully the spontaneous decision has been a good one for you!
Nice vid!
Thanks!

Mirin dat der sunset ski
That last gully off the edge of the staircase is excellent at sunset! I've got a Feathertop Trip video as well if you need more pre-season vids :)
This is excellent pre season viewing!
Thanks! Can't wait to get up there this season!!
Awesome vid. do you have to shuttle this run or is there a trail leading back to the top?
Shuttle is preferable though on an enduro bike you can (and people do) ride back up.
if you are super keen and keep peddaling up the hill past the DH track turnoff after about 15k of punisment you will reach awesome red rock quarry that is full of jumps and stuff than after trashing that go back down the super fast red rock road you just climbed its a 4wd chalenging road and super fun and fast run on mtb - than hit DH track again - i did it for new year day and im still grining after 3 weeks
Hi buddy my good mate just bought a house at Swansea, could you let me know how to get to those trails.
i bet that diamond aint wild! :P
alexander roesdahl yea. total setup.
Can confirm :P
@Lachlan Bowtell setup
Nice video, looking forward to going there very soon! :)
Hi this is Mt Stirling isn't it? I was just wondering and hopping you've been to Mt Buller as well and could tell me which ones better and for what? :)
Mt. Stirling is for hiking/ flat skiing. You can rent a tent on the mountain to stay in and play in the snow. Mt. Buller is a ski resort. You can't play/ build in the snow but you can go downhill/ sports skiing. Mt. Buller has restaurants, heated facilities, ski lifts and hotel accommodations. Wheres Mt. Stirling is camping.
Nas
ryderthefrog and other concerned about "jumping on the python". I'd just like to clarify that the other guy there already had it and they jumped a solid 2m or so to the side of it. Understand your concern though!
Best vid I have seen so far in my research. I am getting a Stimmy. How do they go with high temperatures? I am in the middle of the NT where they are from and I am concerned that I may overheat the snake in its enclosure in my house (it can get to over 45 degrees). I am assuming that I don't use my heat light with this temp and I make sure that I have some cool water for it to bathe in to cool down?
As they are from up that region, naturally in the wild they will experience high temperatures. I would personally run your heat source on a thermostat so that it turns off when it gets past mid 30's at the hot end. Having access to a water bowl at the cool end is definitely a good idea! I'm not sure what enclosure you have, but good ventilation will be important also. I personally have two tanks in the same room with the same heat source and one is sometimes 10 degrees hotter simply due to material its made of and not as much ventilation. Hope this helps!
it is an exo terra 45x45x90. Half the top has mesh, not glass and there are a few vents down the bottom a swell. I am thinking a ceramic water bowl and a fan left on in the house. I have a few mates that do that and they don't seem to have a problem. The pet store guy was telling me to run my aircon 24/7. I think the above method is going to be the best for me. I really don't think I am going to need the heat lamp at all until may/june next year. It is so hot here at the moment, not one day has been under 38 for weeks now.
Ok I know which one that is. Yeah well as I think you've already put together, you'll probs only need to consider providing extra heat in winter months - not sure what temps are like for you around that time of year. A/C 24/7 seems like an expensive way to live, if your friends just leave a fan on and theirs are fine then I guess go with it. Just make sure you get a thermometer of some sort in there so that you can monitor the temps and even humidity (www.ebay.com.au/itm/DIGITAL-LCD-HYGROMETER-HUMIDITY-METER-TESTER-REPTILE-TEMPERATURE-THERMOMETER-/320943327225)
+Carrie Taylor That's some PURELY done research then... i certainly dont hope u feel ready for a snake by these 6 minutes :S
+alexander roesdahl had my Stimson Python for a year now aNd she is doing great!!!!!! We are also getting two bearded dragons.
Great, & presented so simply.
Very slick Raz
really cool video! check out my edits and subscribe back thanks!
You do the same thing as me with the chesty. Forget to tie the chest strap from the camel back up out of the way so its not waving in front of the camera. Good run though
hah thanks Codezy Mann I think I made it look bigger than it was by pretty much flat landing it! Not something I'd recommend
