Hi How are you know . Is your creat under control
They forget to say U can't swim in ocean and also sleep with wife or dogs and it's every day....hell no thanks happy at clinic 3 times a week
Congrats , and question after they removed catheter, did your man hood swell up in a non normal way?
Did you have to stay close to the hospital after transplant
I was a blood and organ donor until I was told I was stage 3 ckd. But my other organs and was still a go. Then I started having trouble pulling a 40 so no more blood. Then I was diagnosed with prostate cancer so I’m giving to science.
FYI: everyone saying that home dialysis sessions take about 8hours to complete. WRONG! More like 8 and a half almost 9hrs.
Thank you I found your video. My wife had kidney transplant and they want her to start this procedure. We have been to this Medical Center many times. 909 Fulton Avenue😊
Got the call yesterday, went in to hospital, but it didn't happen this time. I've been on PD for over 2 years now. That was my first call. The immunosuppressant meds scare me to be honest, but it's got to be done, no other choice.
I'm post transplant 15 months and I can tell you not to worry about it. The only side effect from Predisone (anti rejection drug I take) that I can detect is my ankles still swell up a bit and that might be because of all the water they have you drink a day (70=90oz) at least that's what my Neprogist says. I have cut back to about 65 oz a day after 13 months but ankles still swell up a bit but if that's all that happens then I could care less! Kidney transplant was a lot of hassle but so well worth it to get off the machine. I wake up 3x a week at 5am and appreciate the fact that I can just go back to sleep for as long as I want. R
My mom started pd on october 2023. 7 months ago i was here, researching as much as i was able to. Thank you for your videos.
Very nice well put together video. I just turned 21 and was diagnosed with stage 5 chronic kidney disease. (Dam genetics) I’ve been doing this at home dialysis for a week now and it’s not fun. It’s a pain in the but sometimes with drain pain. I would never wish any of this on my worst enemy. I’m just praying I can find a kidney and get rid of this machine and boxes. But you know it could always be worse. Im able to live and breath and walk this earth another day where some people aren’t. Life is crazy but I guess it could always be worse
I like your positivity. It not fun buts gets better with time. I don’t know your medical history but think being so young you would have a great opportunity at one. It is well worth the work and time you have to put in. Stay positive and do what you can to be in the position when that day comes so you are ready. Stay healthy as you can and show the doctors you will do your best to give that kidney it best chance. I am really rooting for you and wish you the best. If there is any I can do let me know. Things will get better!
Thank you for sharing
♡ was nice to show my dad what to expect
Hey CKD brother. Please post an update. Pray all is well.
Thank You.
I am a dialysis nurse in Canada, work hemodiaylsis and soon to be cross trained to PD and hopefully train people to do this at home You did an excellent job demonstrating and teaching It was very authentic and helpful Thank you 😊
Keep up the great work I had friends that did this too
So you have to be on Immunosuppressants for the rest of your life?
You do but it is only bad for a few weeks. Mine doesn't bother me at all after nearly a year. It is so worth it. The surgery isn't bad at all.
This will be my life starting this week. I got my PD cath last week. I guess it’s either this or die. Thanks for explaining the process. I haven’t met with my PD nurse yet and of course I’m nervous about learning this.
That was a great video. Thank you for sharing
The blue clamp is for Icodextrin which is the last fill for day time dialysis.
I’m getting one in 13 days and im pretty nervous
Thank you for the demonstration. Feb 20th 2024 i have my first pd treatment after a year of hemodialysis
Ok the real... just had The stent removed today. IT SUCKED! It only took about 45 seconds but it was worse than i could have imagined. THAT SAID, it was quick. No numbing shot in for me, they wiped it on the camera and in they go. The water was unsettling and uncomfortable. I was begging to be done 20 seconds into it. As soon as the procedure was finished, I felt pretty good. No real pain and glad it was over. Urinating was painful , but do yourself a favor go to your local drugstore and get an Over-the-counter Urinary pain relief pills. HELPED EMENSLEY! Like many of you, I search the comments to be reassured that it wasn't as bad as some people were making that out to be, Just remember short-term pain for long-term gain! I feel great. Now that it's all done.
Is it painful do you get dizzy and sick
I didn’t have any sickness or dizziness. It would get uncomfortable at times during the draining but often I could roll to another position to help.
Masturbation can cause kidney damage

Beautiful video, thanks for sharing your journey.
Hello. I am currently doing in center dialysis and I am considering PD. I’m not eligible for any kind of transplant.
I have a stent now that needs to stay in for two weeks. I just got it and I'm already dreading having to get it removed. Those stents are made to stay in place and it takes a pretty hard tug to get them out. I hate that first day when a stent comes out because I know I'll be spending the day under a heating pad.
How are you now bro!? Its been 20 months now for me
Doing good!! Thanks for asking. Congrats! Sure is a life changing thing! How are doing so far?
@@lifewithkidneydisease good! Thanks Constant focus on health (diet, exercise) is very important!

How is everything going? Little scary at first but it gets easier. Hope it’s going well and you can find a transplant soon!
I just started PD

That is amazing!! Hope it goes well!
Hello, do you experience any proteinuria?
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I too have BK virus from the the kidney transplant, I’m scared, but I have confidence in my transplant team. I hope that everyone who is waiting for a transplant will someday get one. It is a blessing from God that he has given us a second chance in life🙏..
Your video was helpful and informative
