Hot off the press - check out how great these cards are going to look!
I'm still missunderstanding while player two have played a spade card, while enemy attack on player two, why player two just discard 6 value although value attack of enemy is 9?
Hi! I assume you're wondering about the second turn of the game? In that case the enemy's attack had been recuded by the value of the played spade (6), not the number of cards (1). Every siuit power is resolved at the value of that attack. So the 6 of spades reduced the enemy's strength by 6 (down to 4), not by 1. Let me know if you have any other questions!
What an amazing explanation
What are the plans for translating the great game into other languages? Especially german.
We have a European language partner lined up. It's going to happen, but not until after English version is released. We don't have a confirmed timeline let.
5:33 at this time stamp, you said that they can play a combo as long as the total is ten. So why did he play the three twos, since 2+2+2=6. Does the clubs take effect too? Also, are runs allowed too?
The combos are restricted to adding up to 10 or less. All suits take effect, except for those to which the enemy is immune. The clubs power doesn't change the combo total for checking the limit of 10. For example, the attack strength of 4 of hearts and 4 of clubs is 8 (and therefore a legal combo). Then you resolve their powers. Heal 8 cards and deal double 8 damage, which is of course 16.
@@badgersfrommars but what about runs? Are those allowed as long as they add up to ten or less?
@@alixx_legenddark_xx2819 No runs. Just pairs/sets :)
To play as the Monarch check out Reigns.
amazing, congrats for your work 👏🏻
I like the timing of the video, looks familiar😊
2:54 - You attack the Jack with 18 (6 of clubs x2 plus 6 of spades). That is more than enough to defeat the Jack's 8 health, yet you only reduce the Jack's health by 6 down to 2. Why is this?
Hi! You're just missing the timing on the numbers being changed. 20 health, -12 for the 6 of clubs goes to 8, -6 for the 6 of spades goes to 2, then killed with a 4.
I can't wait for more people to play this game!
Can’t wait for the game. And what amazing audio… 😂
I know a guy!
Hype level increasing!!!
We can't wait!
Am I getting it correctly that after I finish the campaign, I cannot play it again and have to purchase a "reset box" every time I want to replay it? What does a "reset box" contain that I cannot do on my own and play the game as much as I want?
You can't start the game again, but you can continue to play it using eternal mode. It generates awesome scenarios to play with your finished party deck. More details in the FAQ on our Kickstarter page. www.kickstarter.com/projects/badgersfrommars/regicide-legacy
I’m new to board gaming, can you please explain what the reset box is and if we need it. Will it also be available in the future alone if we decide to get it.
Hi Steve! We've got some FAQs about this on our kickstarter page. www.kickstarter.com/projects/badgersfrommars/regicide-legacy
@@badgersfrommars awesome, and I backed! #1,563. Also got the Teal Regicide, oh I love red, but for some reason the Teal pops so lovely. Much love from AZ, USA!
@@distortedsteeve2980 thanks mate! Good luck with the distortion.
Didn't realize this was on Kickstarter currently. You should definitely include a link to your campaign! (Excellent video, btw.)
Sorted!
We really Loooove Regicide, sadly the Legacy element of this edition is a red flag for us :(((
O hee
How much replayability is there without a reset box? Is there a normal game mode of some kind thats playable using this if you finish the campaign? Or are the individual missions replayable? Also, what does the reset box actually reset? Seems like i could just put missions back in their mission box?
Hi! The game has an eternal mode that you can keep playing after the main campaigns. There is no need to buy a reset box if you're looking for long term play. You can put the missions back in the box but there's more to the game than just the cards. If we could reset it for free we would have done that in a heartbeat. Play the 12 missions THEN decide if you need a reset box.
@@badgersfrommars thanks so much for the reply! That's good to know
This is an autoback for me. It's sad though we have to wait a whole year before receiving it.
Is this game still playable with regular cards? I love the original regicide and was wondering if this is alos playable with regular 2 or more deck of cards.😅
This game has 400+ cards and some storytelling. Why would you think regular deck of cards could replace that..
the later missions will probably involve cards that you can't easily recreate with regular playing cards, if you go on their kickstarter you can take a glimpse and notice that there are cards of different suits and values higher than 10 (not talking about the face cards). since the game also includes reset boxes i don't doubt you'll be physically destroying/altering the cards with stickers n such
I just found regicide from chat gpt and glad to see it is expanding! Nice to see what you can do in game design building your own game without the dependency on regular cards
Artwork looks dope as always
it seems unplayable with regular poker deck anymore?
It's a different beast!
@@badgersfrommars I just checked it's KS page, there is "i'll just make my own regicide legacy using a standard deck and some pens" part, is it possible?
@@Hanes.Review na - it's 400+ cards of carnage. A very different game.
I think your game has a glitch: The Ace of Clubs is not applying the double damage effect, even when paired with other cards. It's acting as though it is just a card with value of 1 without any suit powers.
I tested just now and seems to be working fine. Maybe you were playing it against a club enemy? They are immune to their own suit power. Let me know!
This plays nearly identical to regular Regicide. What even is the purpose of the mission cards?
0:47 "The rules for mission 1 are almost identical to regular Regicide". It's probably meant as a simple introduction for people who haven't played Regicide before.
I think they should have done a demo of any other mission besides Mission 1. The mission 1, is the regular regicide game essentially, they even commented that on the kickstarter. It would be ideal to show us players who've played tons of Regicide, a different example.
Mission 1 is identical to Regicide. Missions 2 to 12 are all new and so the mission card tells you how to play each mission :)
@@badgersfrommars Will show us a demonstration of those new missions?
@@ayviondenar3461 sorry - have made a decision to not spoil any content. We want to show you EVERYTHING but are holding back. Plenty of opportunity to see what others say about the game when it comes out. No pressure to back at Kickstarter.
When you kill an enemy by attacking for more than their HP, which card(s) go into the discard first: the player's/players' cards, or the enemy card? For 2-4 players, how many Jokers are merited? Do the Jokers go in the Tavern deck, or can they be off to the side and used whenever like in Solo? In a two player game, can only one person yield? In a 3-4 player game, can there only be one person who must not yield?
I love the original Regicide, so this looks to be a slam-dunk. I actually prefer to play it on the app solo since it does the tracking of damage and health for you. I'm wondering if there will be an app for this game? Maybe not for the full Legacy campaign (that would probably be too much work), but for a few of the standalone rule changes?
Hi! No we have no plans for an app at this stage. The playmat and tracker tokens are perfect and they work in every mission really well.
Found this on reddit recommendations/website. It was an amazingly fun game overall. I was struggling about the game rules and mechanics at first. Luckily, yt video already came to save the day. I would've gotten a silver victory on solo mode at least because king of diamonds was my last encounter on castle deck and painful to deal with. My cards were mostly weak except Jack and had only one jester left. I had no choice to use jester for immunity. There's tons of handicap this game to make more challenging and replayable and I want to attempt it. ❤😊
That background would make a *GORGEOUS* gaming mat to play the game on (hint hint!!!).
I love co-op games so I've been trying to design a co-op game with a deck of cards. I checked the internet to see if someone else had a similar inclination and: Voilá! This looks so cool and fun. I downloaded the app and I'm about to go try it for the first time with my friend. I hope to learn from these design ideas.
I thought this game was impossible, but it's because I haven't been putting the defeated enemies in the discard pile 🤣🤣
Ah yes, that does make it quite the challenge!
Love the game and great video. At 8:50 why wouldn't the player lay down the Ace of Spades for exact kill instead of yielding. They don't die if they run out of cards, correct? Only if they need to play a card, but can't I thought.
I re-listened and figured it out. I forgot that when you kill an enemy you start off against the next one. We were actually playing that wrong by moving to the next player. Curious, why did you design it so the the player that kills the enemy starts off against the next one? Was it too easy to beat the game the other way?
Hi @@JohnMRaggio ! THe issue was that in 3 player in particular, one player would deal the killing blow, never have to take an attack, and the same player would always be taking the first attack. it got really out of balance. now this way, all turns start with the previous player having take a hit of some kind.
@@badgersfrommars makes sense as you explain it. Thanks!
Can you make a companion with pairs together in same set??!
Hi! An animal companion can only be paired with one other card, which could be another animal companion. So Ace + Ace is good. 3 + 3 + 3 + Ace is bad.
Insanely fun game, would definitely recommend this one!! One question regarding 2 player mode for which I couldnt find an answer in the rulebook: what happens when at the beginning of one game not a single diamonds is dealt? We had this one case and while it‘s kinda possible 9 of 10 times to avoid having no diamonds on the hand, in this case we just lost after the first boss.. anyways super fun game nonetheless!!
good game, but looking at this video I must admit rulebook is terrible
Loving the game as we learn. Question: what if the TAVERN is empty, and you can't draw? And then, if the monarch is a ❤️, does that mean that we can't heal any cards until we defeat that monarch? Plz clarify⁉️
That's correct. Suit powers don't work against the enemy with a matching suit.
I love this game😊
In solo mode I loose so often because I do not have any diamonds to draw cards, I know about the jester but I have to use both of them already at the Jack stage. Am I playing incorrectly or is it just really really hard solo mode?
Did rules change from this video later on? I feel like ive seen many other videos and rules were different.
Nope - this is the correct rule video. What did you think might be different?
I just played solo-mode and lost... It is not that easy...
Incredible game. Just one question. Why the attack of the enemy decreases one from 10 to 9 in 2:41 and 4:51? Thanks a lot in advance for your answers!!
Yeah, got confused too, that's just unfortunate font or background image, it's number 4, not 9 :)
@@dezm0n679 you're right!! many thanks for your answer!!
Hey I have a question. When you combined the 2 fives, I understood that it yielded 20 damage points to the opponent. But wouldn't you also get to draw 10 cards from the health pile bc one of the fives was a diamond?
Hi ZV! Playing a 5 of Clubs with a 5 of Diamonds means you add them together (for a total of 10) and resolve both powers at that number. So yes, you draw 10c cards and deal double 10 damage (20). However I played them against the Jack of Diamonds, which means I don't get to draw :(
@@badgersfrommarsOhh okay, makes sense now. Thank you so much!
Solid game. Just bought it today, along with the app version as well. If you like the occasional solo card game, this is a must buy.
Bought the deck, downloaded the app, bought the solo play... SO SO elegant in design, simple to learn, challenging to play. Well done!
It is so good! I love the game! The app plays great and the companion is nice for playing physically. Glad I found this game it is so clever and addictive
I like the app. I've played few games with two d20 dice as counters, but the app makes the gameplay much smoother.
It's incredible I'm from brasil congratulations... I'll make a version of your game sir with alternative arts
Hey @Badgers From Mars, have you guys considered making a Player vs. Player ruleset for Regicide with 2 decks?
Only for about 30 seconds. Have a crack at it and let us know :)
I've purchased the solo mode on the companion app. Please make multiplayer online mode too!
When you have won a jack or queen, how does the power value work? If i have a jack does it attack for 10 and block for 10 or because its health is 20 does it block 20? same question for the queens, does it attack for 15 and block for 15 or because its health is 30 can i use it to block 30
Hi Adam. The enemy cards are worth their attack value in hand. So the Jack of Spades functions like a 10 of Spades when playing or discarding, and if you play the Queen of Clubs, she'll do 30 damage (because she is a 15 of Clubs). Yes, playing the King of Diamonds will draw the team 20 cards.
