Detroit Diesel Silver 8V92T pulling heavy load in town
Typical day driving an 18 wheeler. Near miss. Asshole in 4 wheeler!

No contact, but near miss because a stupid driver doesn't know what yield means!

Detroit Nation baby 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
What kind of boost does your truck make when you're pulling? I feel like my turbo is lazy.
👍🤓
Freight shaker!
Sounds like a muscle car, love it.
Absolutely insanely nice sounding truck and I just subscribed will you please see if you can do a four or five hour ASMR video of you driving this thing and include the engine start up and also add in lots of jake braking because those are my favorite parts of the videos stay safe and have a great one. I hope all is well with you.
Husband had a sportfish with 671’s and another with 892 DDEC’s. I love the sound of two detroits synchronized running in a following sea. And, the fish like detroits too.
Love that screamin’ demon’ decal by the door!
Bruh gotta hit that vape tryin to shift
Well....I know how it can be! Lol
What turbo did you go with?
The sound of 'Murica 💪
Great bike with awesome sound. I miss my old one! Nice video!
15 speed, U pattern.
The rowdy Detroit Diesel engine 8V92TA
Are these too loud? For just casual riding
Actually I've sold this bike a few years ago. It was a little loud but I still enjoyed every minute I was on the bike. I would install these pipes again without a second thought. Most of the time I was respectful of people around me and I never got into trouble with these. In fact they saved me a few times from 4-wheelers. If they get too close to me or try to come into my lane I'd just pull the clutch in and rev it. They maybe couldn't see me but they could hear me in turn making them look for me. As they used to say: "Loud pipes save lives", and I know this to be a fact from firsthand experience.
such a sweet sound, music to my ears an many good memories flood back
Thank you! I love it. We're going to.be selling it soon. Where we're at now, they won't allow anything this old. Really sucks because this FLD is 100% more reliable that the new trucks they have in the fleet now
This is a streetsweeoer HT? What was the final HP and torque?
The rear wheel was 400. I don’t remember the tq value. It would make more power if I wasn’t using the stock intake and TB
did you get it on the dyno by any chance?
It has a Dyno tune, but he has it running too rich, by a lot. I’m wanting to do a rebuild eventually and get it retuned
Gotcha thx. When did you install the cam? What did it put down?@@cbarnett1790
Nice 👍
No better sound than that of a 2 stroke Detroit. Love it! 8V92 is my favorite.
Sound great, known for runaway tho,
Thanks!! I’ve never had a problem with that. I have an air actuated fuel shutoff, so as long as the turbo doesn’t start injecting oil into the air charge then all is good.
That 2:44 first roar of the Detroit is incredible!
Thank you!!!
Back when trucks were real
Very true. These new trucks are total crapola!!!
Good video, nobody has mentioned the turnaround in the transmission. Another of drivers have never drove one
Oh it’s a fun transmission to drive, but you gotta be dead on accurate because it’s un-synchronized, or at least mine is
My Dad had his 13 sp modified like that one. They swap 3rd and the input gear . Man when you put that stick up to the dash you better be ready to fly ...
I knew a guy back home that had a couple of these he used for pulling logs both had Cat 3406B engines
Sounds like a 6V92
Not sounds better than a screaming 318 Detroit with twin straight pipes!
@allan9603 8V92 in this video! Not a 318!
@@mgp870 not my point.
Yup, they were loud. Yup, they used oil like nobody's business. Yup, they got diddly for fuel mileage. But dang if they weren't a fun piece, and by God, they could pull.
nice
Thank you
Nothing like that sound 435 HP
I miss that Detroit sound today once in a while I get surprised
It is the first time seeing and hearing a Freightliner truck like that with a Detroit diesel wow.
Yeah this truck is so simple and basic, that it’s really a lot of fun to drive. I only wish that she had air ride suspension. Those leaf springs kick my butt on some roads!! Lol
1st truck I ever drove for a living, I was 18 yrs old and was an F model Mack with an 8V92 Detroit, 13spd,4:11 and Reyco suspension. I LOVED that truck. I can still hear that TONE!! What aTONE man!!
My God that is a sweet exhaust note. I really wish I could drive one just one time!
Yeah it’s pretty sweet most of the time. Thank you
i spent many MANY hours behind the wheel of an 84 model like that.except it was 6v92 pulling a fruhauf dump trailer..
I hauled coal with a big Detroit many years ago…loud isn’t the word…I loved it!
My first truck 85 western star had silver 92. I hated it as a kid but man I wish I had it now. I had 100 mm marine injectors in it. Pulled not bad for what it was
Music to my ears 😊
Nice video to watch but the shifts are too slow for a person who's driving a Yama- ya
Haha no jakes and an unsynchronized transmission, that’s the best that can be done, plus I did miss the gear on the first try
“Yeah I’m gonna go vegan to reduce my carbon impact” All the trucks that deliver Amazon packages and food:
Same engine as in 90s Prevost and MCI motorcoaches
That's Oklahoma City near SW 15th and Council! Then southbound on Council. 7-eleven on 29th and Council. Then hobby lobby DC at 44th and Council. Then airport Rd .
You are correct 😀
I have to say that the farmer should have bought a day cab.
They have an amazing sound. Always that amazing sound to these engines
Did they ever put the Series 60 in the FLC?
According to my truck owners manual it was optional with the 11.1/12.7L
The sound of that engine and I get teary eyed. In the 1980's I worked for Pacific Coca Cola. Their transport trucks were GMC Generals equipped with 8V92ttae's with 13spd road rangers. Wow what memories. I'm retired now for the last twelve years. After a career that span 44 yrs. Yet I still miss it. I still carry a current CDL-class A. It runs out in 6 yrs. will I get another maybe? Thanks for posting that wonderful sound. I attend truck show now and then. I guess its true old truckers never really retire or die we just fade away
I got my license in a Western Star with the same powertrain. The quick revving 92 with the 13 was great, and not loud like the old green screamers. Excellent power.
I'd be going faster
The man CAN SHIFT
Never more of a beautiful tune to my ear!!! None of these youngsters will ever know the wonder sound of a very well tuned Detroit!!! You better know it!!!!
Over here in Europe a lot of trucks are now automated and wouldn’t know how to drive one with this gearbox. A feast for the ears and oh what sweet music. Have come across Foden leyland, Gardner, root,Rolls Royce two strokes and also another British make in the Starr ferries in Hong Kong.
1968 in South Korea, my job was recovery on an M-578 retriever. The engine was an 8V71T and I sat right next to this teeth jarring behemoth of power. I loved every second in the drivers seat. I am a short skinny guy, and having that much power at my right foot, made me feel like I could look down on Andre the Giant. I could have chosen to just stay in the motor pool and be a regular line mechanic, but, the excitement of being in the field where the real action was, is what real memories are made of.
318 driptroit Rocky Mountain screamer
Did you drove dodge mlM 37 in korea?
