Love it when the interviewer goes "do you just like zone out on stage or is it rehearsed?" And Omar goes "Sorry...for what?...." Making a joke that he's zoning out, and the interviewer doesn't get what he just did, only Cedric smiles. Love that, and their relationship with each other, they have more humor than people think. So glad to have them back, can't wait for their new album next month! 👌🏽💯💙🙏
Makes sense if you think about it. These two have been around each other for a long time. When you spend a lot of time with someone or people, you tend to synch up with each other. Physical and mental behaviors are mimicked. Especially when you're in a musical group, this is why the foot tapping seems reasonable. They're constantly in rhythm with one another.
So the Mars Volta's music is inspired by the occult. Good to know. Funny how unabashed he was about it. Honestly you could tell the guy isn't right from looking at him. Imagine turning up to a job interview looking and acting like that. But if you're a rock band no one minds if you're obviously a wrongun.
@Eljonno No kidding. I almost feel bad hosting such a terrible interview but they still try and have some fun with it so I can live with it. Not many people get away with saying fuck on live tv lol
...I don't think it's the interviewers fault that this was awkward. Looks like he tried really hard to keep the pace up and stuff but their answers were very yes/no
well that's what most of this couch mtv like interviews always are, I have seen other interviews where their okay to answer and say some good stuff, but they themselves know this interview platform is horse shit.
ok so fairplay the interviewer is a bit annoying but its got to be hard work interviewing these two. Not exactly helping the guy out much with their tired sounding responses. I realise the questions have probably been asked plenty of times before and arent exactly challenging but for fucks sake!
@WillKill4Weed you're a dumbass. what you're talking about is like in poetry. this is a discussion about music, so he's obviously talking about bars in music. he wasn't saying "we're going to improv ___ verses" he meant it more like "we're going to improv ___ measures". if they were rappers or poets then what you're saying would make sense, but they're a band, they play music, so stfu.
well actually he said ive been listening to you guys since the tremulant ep. didnt mean he liked it right away, he could have heard about it because he knew they were from at the drive-in. a few of my friends found out that way and heard the tremulant ep when it came out. this guy seems decently genuine to me. dont get why people are ripping him apart. he's a far cry away from what i would consider an awful interviewer.

I don't understand why people with personalities like this are given platforms. Love TMV
They have their moments
Such an iconic group of young men!! The break-up of 'At the drive-in ' was thaa BEST thing to happen to them!! Real talk! 💯💯💯
Dope!
I don't know if it's creepy or corny how they're sitting the same way, right leg under left thigh, twirling and tapping their left foot.

This really wasn't that bad. I don't get why everyone thinks the guy was so annoying. He just seemed to be a fan.

Very awkward interview

They were pretty generic questions, don't think he really understood them or their humour
damn, no idea whatsoever that Cedric is a high school dropout...
It takes the interviewer about 20 seconds to ruin the little credibility that he had... Nice goin'
@slugseverywhere lol I caught that, too.
blade runner and silent running, both awesome films
omar's little joke at 5:31 goes right over the interviewer's head. funny.
what was the joke?
@@auto1nfanticid3 he pretended to zone out
lol, do you actually know the band?
cedric does and omar does
i don't think they have tattoos
damn that's why you don't play with those things!!!

lmao you think at the drive in are better or are you joking? tmv are much better than at the drive in by any musician who has been around a while.
Great interview. Like a donkey choking a waffle haha! But the background music is annoying.
