I dont know if it says it in the manual but you're not supposed to run full shop pressure through them. The small hand pump units only need like 10-25 psi. I'd throw a regulator on it for no more than 50psi

One thing seams to be sure about the clover soft/hardware it is very secure compared to other 'ipad" solutions. If the world can't hack it then I'm sold on the security of it.

I have one, i can't figure out how to get the back off yet but i'm going to try the old fashioned "power down" where you pop the batter and CMOS battery and let it go totally dead for a while. Sometimes this will let go into safe mode or reset. The reset buttons so far i've found control "volume down" function and something else. Much like the factory reset function on android phones, but i wasn't able to get it to boot in safe mode. I'm trying to repurpose this for a friends restaurant in Manila, they would go crazy for this, i'll let you know if i have any luck. Also, maybe some soldering points on the board that are jumpable to get this to reset too?

That happens because the drain line is clogged or frozen. There is a plain metal piece running from the coils to a hole. You can defrost it and clear it up with a wire also. Be sure that piece of metal is in the whole area it heats it to keep it draining. Thanks for that fix. I may end up doing that if using rd in the screen doesn’t do the trick.

I manually defrosted and within HOURS it had a noisy fan again.

Look for a little black 2 prong jumped in the board... just like on a PC board it resets the Bios Configuration so you can access program settings

Not that I would call it progress but I was able get a small screen on the bottom left that says SAFE MODE. Not sure how I did it since I was messing with all the buttons.

Question: Is this fan always running and it's only heard even the ice builds up? I'm overseas. My Samsung version is a little different. Not sure that "door" can be opened.

Maybe just crawl under and remove the drain bolt..going to siphon the filter off as well? lol. Also I imagine you hooked it directly up to your compressor without reading instructions and adjusting the air regulator to the proper psi? Think this little plastic thing can handle the same pressure as your metal tank? I believe they are not supposed to go over 20-25 psi. Im assuming you threw 60+ at it?

I've got one of those, it uses a venturi type pump or syphon to create vacuum in the tank. I can't see how it would make pressure in the tank? I have an older all steel version that had a hand pump to draw vacuum on the tank, I converted it to use an old a/c compressor to directly draw vacuum, I turn on the pump, let the tank pressure drop to about 20in, and then open the valve and draw in the fluid.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but doesn't that work by Vacuum because that canister would be under a Vacuum negative pressure rather then a positive pressure which would cause it to burst outward or explode just a question

It's still better to drain your oil to remove the sediment from the bottom of your pan...

I actually have a lot of the tools to do this and have several of them I've been thinking about doing the same thing with. Did you get any closer since this video or have any info you want to shoot my way? Ill probably take it apart and check the wiring to those buttons, see if it was labeled on the board. After seeing the usb port though, im sure theres a way to reinstall the android apks and reset it from a software side.

ok why aren't people taking Clover to court. Just like a cell phone if you own it you should be able to unlock it so that you can use it with other cell providers. If you have ownership of something you have the right to use it as you please. if they want to restrict use of something then leaseit dont sell it. Peo;ple needto stop using companies that exploit people by taking thier money

The styrofoam is there for a reason. It's a damper and insulation. The issue for the freeze up is four-fold: 1. Samsung poor design. 2. The yellow wired component is the thermostat. Replace it. 3. The metal clip at the bottom of the drain is too small. It heats up during defrost to melt and drain the ice. Replace it. Both 2 and 3 are a $15 kit from Amazon. 4. The drain tube in the back where the defrosted water is supposed to drain down to the compressor and evaporate is blocked. The tubes have a thin tip at the end and doesn't allow water to flow freely. This water backs up and refreezes, blocking the drain. This is why water builds in the compartment and flows into crisper drawers and onto the floor. Remove the tubes if you want. This will stop the water inside the fridge. Good video.

Tom, thanks for making this video. I really hope this works for me too. I have one question though. It seems like removing the foam might increase the time between defrosts by creating more room for the ice to build up, but it might still build up. As the problem recurred since you posted this video? And have you taken the panel off just to see if the ice is building up behind it?

Are you kidding me? I guarantee that your "fix" is costing you way more in electricity than before for reasons that I won't bother explaining since it is as you say "above your pay grade". Secondly, you exchanged one problem with another. I do not recommend doing this.

THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!!!! If you are still having spilling inside your Fridge under the tray... there are silcone drain tubes in the back of the fridge. Take the panel off the bottom part of the fridge in the back ***not underneath the fridge***. Take those drain tubes out....Build up of crud stops up those drain tubes. Take them out **water will spill out!!** clean and replace. PROBLEM Solved!!! great video for taking out that Styrofoam piece
