following your passion is a trap, do this instead.
*Sorry guys, yes this is a re-upload to edit out copyrighted stuff!*
In this video, I explain why "finding your passion" is bad advice. Using examples like John Cena's career and a talk he had on Kai Cenat's stream, I show how focusing on purpose-serving others and taking responsibility-leads to deeper fulfillment than passion ever could.

why chasing the ‘perfect game’ is ruining your gaming experience.

man are all my videos going to be about how I was smarter as a kid? lol In this video, I reflect on how overthinking can steal the joy from simple decisions, like choosing a game to play. Searching for the "perfect" game often leads to wasted time and frustration. Embrace your decisions, commit to them, and find happiness in the experience. my mic (which i'd only recommend on sale or used lol) ...

how you play games is how you do everything.

I recently played Cyberpunk 2077 and it led to some deeper reflections. This video is for anyone who's like me who can't seem to stick to a single game (and anything else in their life, for that matter). We're all creatures of habit, and how we play games might shed some light on how we live our lives. Consequently, changing some things about how we game might have bigger implications. 0:00 Int...

why nostalgia feels so good... and can hurt bad.

In this video, I start a new survival Minecraft world and talk about nostalgia triggered by the ‘old RUclips’ trend. I might keep playing this world in future videos cuz I actually really like it haha. This is a continuation of my 'rambling while gaming' playlist that consists of me talking about some topic with minimal edits / in the old RUclips style. Special shoutout to NikoYaps (@nikoyaps) ...

This speaks to me well...just another task.
Undiagnosed ADHD
Doozy, thank you for reminding me about Atomic Habits I remember having 30 audible credits and was buying tons of audiobooks at once, this one being one of them, I’ll start it now
I disagree. How one plays games doesn't translate to how they live life. I was exceptionally great at dedicating my effort to improving at FPS games, but the skill didn't translate at all into school or sports. Just because some struggles seem to correlate between videogames and real life, don't assume that fixing one will have any impact on the other.
wtf why did this video slap as hard as it did... Thank you
This was some heavy stuff. Really made me think about life, too. I get super-obsessed with a game for a week to a year and then one day decide I don't care anymore. I can 100% draw parallels to real life. I just never thought to before.
When it comes to gaming, I went through this is still do. I was playing multiple games, one of them being The Witcher 3 when I realized I wasn't making progress in any of them. I didn't have the focus, everything was just a distraction. I decided to devote x amount of time weekly to beating this game that had been ongoing for too long. To all of those that have played, it was worth the time and I hit one of the better storylines at the end. It's all about pure focus and when you feel yourself in the groove, life is simple, everything is enjoyable (even the challenges). I struggle to keep myself there and often lose my way... but hey, life isn't meant to be easy.
This is genuinely something i’ve been doing for the last year, going back and finishing old games and really putting in more effort, and the results in my real life are very noticeable
go to therapy break your how cycles
Thank you for shedding light into this. I’ve noticed a long time ago and it really helps learn someone’s personality and approach from the way they play.
Sorry for your loss, my guy 🙏🏾💯.
It is a perfect video
Yeah, that is the concept of "dharma". Its not about fun, it's about purpose and duty. The reward of is not happiness, but contentment and peace. Passion and happiness are fleeting, dharma is substance and your reason for being here. Being a good reliable father or ending world hunger - all are equally valid and highly individual. Dharma is however always aligned with your values and it's never 'fun chasing'.
This game humbled me so damn bad lol. I was going through some dark times when i played it and i played it exactly how i would have acted in real life, And in the end my game was cut short by my character ending their life. I turned off the game and took a moment to think about how ive been doing, And how i can get better lol
Glad you're back, bro 🙏🏾
Makes sense. I play it safe and am a "good boy".
Okay I thought this was gonna be a fun little convo you'd have with your audience. God damn did it turn into a philosophical question! Now you've got me questioning my life choices...
Hope your Dad has gotten better 🙏🏾💯.
I appreciate you, I wish he was still around but he’s in a better place now 🙏
It's called freedom , and the ability to do what ya when U want, that's such a good thing to have.
Sounds like me. I grow bored and restless easily. When I was a young adult in my 20s and 30s I always completed video games (though I never completed other projects), but as I continue to get older and older I finish games less and even more the other things I start. I have been a serial starter for almost all of my life but certain things like video games and certain life achievements I used to complete. For me I believe that I have developed low tolerance to stress and pointless unfulfilling goals. When a game becomes too difficult to achieve the end goal I quit if I don't feel it is worth it. The same with other aspects of my life. If I don't see value in the end goal I quit. For example: I find high value and satisfaction in the Mass Effect games and The Witcher series so I usually complete them regardless of the challenge. However, I don't value the Dragon Age games as much, so I never complete them (accept for origins. I completed that). Same with the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games (I start multiple files and breeze through the beginning because it is exciting, but quit once they become too challenging). I pushed through to get my GED and pushed for a trade school certificate because I had an end goal I wanted to achieve. I'll stop rambling because I think you get the point. I only complete things if I see their value and worth (that's everything in my life not just games), but will quit things that don't seem worth the challenge. Maybe I have possible ADHD or I'm neurodivergent in some way. I really just don't know anymore. Thanks for the video. It gave me something to analyze about myself.
How do i make spreadsheets for a living?
I am like you. Start something with great interest but not finishing it. That’s why I obligate myself to finish something I start because that happens with many aspects of my life.
Boot up a Guerilla Horizon game, set it to easy mode, turn off the Quest HUD, & wander around without calling a mount. Open Photomode, have Aloy sit down, and zoom in on a leaf until you see every delicate vein or zoom in on Aloy’s face & see if you can spot her peach fuzz, then zoom out & try to get as much of the rich biome & live cloud formations as possible. Or run through the rain or swim in the ocean. Walk into a Cauldron and count how many machine parts are animated. Watch a caravan of Shellwalkers carry their Cauldron cargo, escorted by Watchers. Horizon is meant to be a vibrant Post Apocalyptic world with fluid machines that mimic real animal behaviors. It’s a whole machine ecosystem
Bro I don’t know if you studied philosophy in school, but you’ve got some shit figured out. Please keeping making videos.
This video made me realize I spend too much time focusing on my next goal as well. Instead of being present and enjoying my time where I’m at, I’m constantly thinking about getting to that next step in my career plan, moving onto that next city, and as a result I’m not enjoying my life right now. Thank you for this, I appreciate the words of wisdom, especially at this moment in my life.
serial starter is literally my middle name, i don't just do this with games. when you said you started drawing for no reason, i did the exact same thing, and didn't continue past a month. when i play pvp games, i never stay with the same character, it always feels like that character isnt for me, not just pvp games, when there is some sort of customization in build, or looks, or gameplay. I can never decide which to focus on to get better. watching this video made me realize it's the same in real life. i keep postponing studies, because the thing i'm trying to become, doesn't feel like it's for me. it really is funny how sometimes the perfect videos show up on the for you page. thank you for finishing this video.
This is an amazing video 💯, my guy.
I'm a Psychotherapist and I just found this video so beautiful. Well delivered anecdotal wisdom that completely matches real modalities. Loved the content and its an insight i work hard on personally as well, thank you for sharing.
thank you! I appreciate the work you do. 🙏
I needed to hear this. Thanks man
As a fellow serial starter thats in the middle of playing 5-6 games right now, I thank you for this. I gotta go beat 5-6 games now
More like its not "how you do something" but "how you want to do something"
I totally agree. And sadly I'm very much like you, likely even worse. So much so, back when The Sims first launched, I figured it could be a fun game to try. Boy, did that soon turn into a living nightmare. It's like I was watching myself. I couldn't keep a job, sleep on time, make enough money to pay bills, my house was a mess. And unlike most ppl, I refused to cheat. I've always been one to finish my games without cheats or assistance, but on The Sims I couldn't even progress! Needless to say I ended up dropping that game, but only after a year of trying! I haven't given up on my life though, and it has improved somewhat, but I'm mostly what I was back then, a mess! lol
This was a madly inspirational video for me man. I'm going to stand up to that challenge with you. Thanks for making this.
Nice video❤
I have had similar thoughts like this. I remember someone asked me "why should I be polite to this person?" because they felt their behavior didn't earn politeness. My response, because you should be a polite person. This goes for most everything. Are you a kind person, do you want to be? Than be kind. Who you are doesn't depend on your surroundings, who you're talking to it the time, other shifting factors like that. Your consistent behavior defines who you are. Choose to be the person you want to be by being that person. Even if it doesn't feel natural at first and takes a lot of effort. You get to define yourself. Don't let others or your surroundings do that.
Pursuit of passion is all about having a workable plan with workable steps that allow you to ascend to achieve in said passion. This type of experience is meant to help us learn to, and then later train to take desires in strides with growing mastery and growing drive. The lack of allure after certain amounts of effort comes from natural desire for change. Just because you pursue passions and purposes, doesn't mean that you the thinking, aging, constantly growing human being has to be held down by it all, life itself ebbs and flows, why should we be pinned against a rock by a hard place we've found ourselves or our skills. Adapting and learning and improving sometimes means taking a different path after feeling accomplished in your goals for your passions. You don't have to ever touch such a passion again, or maybe your fresher pursuits might eventually lead back to a place where such skills from said pursuits of passions could come in handy for bootstrapping it with other skills to accomplish things you find yourself even more passionate about. Though such series of routes may seem circuitous sometimes, there should be no need for any of us to excuse our own pursuits of living our own lives, nor our own life fulfilling pursuits. Respect your growth. Identify with it.
Crazy how you upload your videos at the right time 😅 I’ve been stressing about a new job possibility wich would be in a hospital, and I’m scared it would be too demanding compared to the more relaxed job I have rn. Even if it’s a desk job I’m scared of it 😭 But man it’s what I need to help out my parents, and also to afford my true hobbies and passions😭😭

Who is this guy and how did RUclips recommend this on my feed? Thanks for working finally, RUclips Algorithm. I didn’t realize I needed this video :) Doozy speaks - you keep speaking your heart out! Well done bro
bro just has adhd lol
Ah yes Start many, finish none gotcha
i'm happy and inspired, that more and more people here as everywhere, are not afraid to be genuine and talk about challenges that life presents all of us, and give workable advices on how to go about them. i first read about this method in Letting go- The pathway of surrender, and it, as well as videos like these - are diamonds in the rough (especially your videos 'cause of all the videogame creative sphere and all). Also love that past vibed vid - "how you play...", feels real but also funny at times, especially with that ominous guy saying it. thanks doozy for keeping it real here, love)
You’ve made me realize I have been rushing through games, unlike when I was a child. The same goes for my life. I’m very impatient and just try to hurry on to the next thing in my quests tab. Thank you for this.
Thanks dude, Love the bit about recording in the car!
project zomboid taught me that if you want to not only survive but thrive you gotta cook, clean, farm, fish, trap, build defenses, collect water, and have a game plan. literally made me want to be less lazy. seriously tho i started being more buttoned up after that game.
Hi, your video really touched me. Im the same kind of a person, I have the same "problem". Thanks for sharing, Im going to light a cigarette and think about it. 👍👊
i think yes but not so much, still it was nice to listen to you
Well... if my cyberpunk experience says anything. I played when it came out got locked by a phonecall that bugged my game... i didnt notice until i played approximately 9 hours before i bothered to verify if the auto saving was working dropped it till the dlc and had the exact same thing happen when song bird first called and again forgot to check played 4ish hours and then saw the phonecall was still going... that shit ruined my whole week
I found that i am not a perfectionist and i will probably become a reckless driver
Dude you're speaking right outa my heart
