Any tips on sewing fur trim on a hat. Should the nap still go too to bottom. What is most comfortable against skin?
That's an interesting question and I don't have experience in this. If this is for a band at the bottom of the hat that folds to the inside, I would have the nap so that it flattens down on the outside and then flattens up on the inside (so it smooths out as you put it on). I think that would look best and be most comfortable.
@Threadistry thank you!
Fantastic thanks so much. From headache to achievable 🎉😃
Glad it helped!

That's a great technique! said Wanda using Jim Carr's account.
great tutorial but how do you patch torn knees on pants without a freearm?
I just found your helpful page! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Did you make your dress in this video? I love it!
Glad you found it helpful! Yes, I did make the dress - it's the Sara Everday Tank and Dress from 5 out of 4 Patterns (5outof4.com/product/sara-everyday-tank-and-dress/), made in a slinky polyester knit. It is so nice to wear on a hot day.
Thank you, this is a wonderful explanation. I'm working on a pet bed and this is exactly what I needed.
Glad it was helpful!
Are we supposed to telepathically figure out where you got it? Or did I miss that part?! 🤦♀️
The link is right there in the show notes (although RUclips does like to make them difficult to find), but here's the link again: amzn.to/3x3T0rN
@@Threadistry thanks for the link. Yes, I cannot access any show notes. It’s a “short” that I watched, and there’s nothing (that I can find) to click for more info.
Thank you. I wish I'd followed your tutorial first re the corners!!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi what about when the you steam the crease, and it smoothens but leaves a stained line?
It may be that the fabric has faded along the crease, and there's not much you can do about that. 😔
Can I use on any fabric like viscose and nylon and polyester mix? And will the vinegar stain black?
If you can iron the fabric, it should be fine to use. Vinegar generally doesn't stain, but there's always a chance it will react with fabric dyes, so best to test on an inconspicuous area first (like on the inside of the hem or seam allowance).
thank you for setting the record on that.
Simple and so useful! Thanks!
So helpful! Thank you!
Great tips! Thanks so much ‼️
Cute baby block. I think I’ll make my great grand baby one.

Thanks for explaining cheap material is.
Thanks for the nap tips
Amazing thank you!!
Glad you found it helpful!
I had forgotten this trick. In high school, my Mama made our pleated cheerleader skirts out of a double knit polyester that matched our l/s wool knit sweater tops. Using vinegar she was able to put knife edge sharp pleats! I thought she was going to have to put those funny little pin tuck “creases” like in the old double knit polyester pants from the early 70’s and was so relieved it worked! It even put a nice crease in the bulky 2” wool knit trim stripe that matched the tops.
Oh wow. Do you know how long I've been sewing bags and such where I have to go around and didn't realize that removing my storage case meant this was a functional piece of my machine.... lol I feel very silly now. That's what happens when you teach yourself I guess.
Glad you found it helpful. There's always something new to learn with sewing (especially when you're teaching yourself).
Thank you so much for this! It worked like a charm 🤍
Yay!
How can i do it on satin. I have a satin runner, and those lines are driving me crazy.
Satin is tricky as water can stain it. I would try ironing it on a low temperature setting (silk) on the wrong side, with a pressing cloth (or a piece of cotton fabric like a tea towel) over the top. I'd use steam (if your iron can produce steam at lower temperature without drips) or give the pressing cloth a very light spray of water. And test first in an inconspicuous corner.
@Threadistry thank you. i did try with the iron, and what you said about the water stain happened. Ima try with a steam iron.
Thank you! These tips & tricks are very helpful.
Glad you found it helpful!
such great tips, thank you!
