Hello, just wanted to ask which power slot from the battery is the positive and the negative one, I know there’s a small port and two bigger ports but idk which one is the positive and the negative one.

GREAT VIDEO. I know it's an old video, but this helped me get my friend's X-Star MaxEn 14.8V 4900mAh batteries charging again. Spot on advice. I just stripped some 24AWG solid copper wire from a CAT6 ethernet wire and inserted it directly into the tiny hole behind the 4th pin from the left. It was showing less than 2 volts. I connected it directly to a 12V lead acid battery along with my volt meter and after about 15 minutes there was enough voltage for the charger to fire up. Thank you!

I’m new to this so please bare with me. I bought my son a complete aultel x-Premium drone and the batteries are in perfect shape but dead as hell. I have 4 and feel bad cuz my son was looking forward to flying his first drone. Please help me try to charge the batteries. I was told the drone was bought brand new from the factory and it has only been flown about five times. They also said it hasn’t been flown in almost 3 years. Are my batteries gone or do you think it’s the same issue that you’re talking about and just needs a little bit of power? Note the handheld is the same exact way. It will not take a charge. I’m just trying to find a way to fix this because we do not have the money to go out and buy anything more expensive.

Had a Phantom 4 battery that was not taking charge but would do the 13 blink routine when clicked on. Tore it apart to follow this guide but it still won’t reset. Am I doing something wrong? I left the positive and negative battery terminals on a 12V 1000mA trickle charger over night and tried to reset it again and it still won’t light up like yours did in this video.

thank you for the instructional video. i just used dremel and cut out a small square over the top of all of those so that I had a working window. i used 2 paper clips to short out the reset. i just counted 3rd node down from the top. its on the charger now. not sure if this method will work for me. but I wanted to share that making a window on the bottom of the battery gave me great access without destroying the case

Thanks so much for this! Been DYING to get my XStar back in the air again, but 7 batteries (2 had to be trashed due to major swelling), all not charging whatsoever from the Autel charger was deflating. However, one actually did charge from the Autel charger for some odd reason. I do recall however WAY back in late Oct. 2017, the final firmware for this drone came out, I had a bizarre oddity when my battery..which were working perfectly before that update went from 51% left to 2%..in about 1/2 second! Autel never released a patch for that...they simply discontinued XStar support for the most part (and purchase of these batteries!) and moved on to the Evo series. Ended up getting a Mavic Pro original, but honestly always loved the photo-video quality far better from this Autel.

it's been almost 2 years since I used my phantom 4 and now, I will try this method on 3 batteries' that i have because 2 won't turn on at all and one did the one light, so now I will try this and if all is good, I will leave another comment thanks 👍

Has anyone tried the cells from the 4s 5000 shorty pack? The length and width are close but the thickness doesn't quite add up. It is a hard pack so the cells could be close in size just padded for a car or truck.

Thanks for the help. I ended up using a 9 volt battery and that worked well to get it up to the point where the charger would work. The first battery I tried appeared to charge correctly, but the lights on the battery don't light up, although it appears to be charged. The second battery worked perfectly.

So... I am guessing the single flashing light is actually a dead cell or something?

If there is still a will to find and build a power source, there is still hope for the x star. currently, I am down to one original battery that is giving me 15 flight time. I have tried to build cells, but , that bms lock me out and shows the reading from the last power cells that has been removed. Thanks for keep trying to keep our x star in the air, which to this day is still a good drone. YOUR EFFORTS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. 👌👍

Hard to see. The negative battery terminal goes on the larger to the right set of terminals, and the middle terminal and the positive pin goes on the smaller (left set) 3rd from the right? 3 terminals counting from the right

Do you have any Autel Xstar Premium batteries with the old firmware installed ? After upgrading the drone firmware from X3P_FW_900M_V1.1.3 to X3P_FW_900M_V2.0.12 is when a lot of people started having Autel Xstar battery issues. I might be able to clone the battery firmware and would like to try it to see if some of these battery issues go away. Thanks.

I just tried this with my P4P V2.0 battery...which was completely dead. No leds flashed before this...but I managed to reset it a few times and the leds started flashing for a bit...but then went to completely dead, again. Now it doesn’t do nothing anymore...should I let it to charge? Even tho, I have let it for like 2 days in the charger, but without any activity. It is possible that if it’s completely dead it won’t do anything forever again? Even tho, after a few resets, it started to flash a bit...the 3rd led for a few times, then it died completely. I’m so angry and frustrated :(( any help / ideas?
