I love my Elantra N

I enjoyed this cause I owned a Genesis coupe 2.0 T

Do you remember the gems from 1991? Honestly? The Scoupe was actually decent looking compared to the toaster ovens of the day!

I miss the sub 20k new cars and sub compact is my favorite size for daily commuting. There cheep, small and fuel efficient. Not these expensive unnecessarily large vehicles that have horrible fuel economy.

i've had a 2016 r-spec and currently have a 2020 velo N performace, and i love them both!

I test drove a new Veloster N in 2022. The car I took to the dealer was an Abarth 500. I went home that day in my Abarth. The VN was fine. By all metrics, it was very good, but I felt the car was constantly asking me, "are you having fun yet? Am I cool yet? This is what you want, right? Are you impressed?" It was very strange.

I mean, I rather have a cooler looking car than another momobile IMHO style matters

I actually work as an Environmental Officer and previously a conservation officer, my job literally requires me to drive off road all the time into natural areas and my company car is actually a UTE not a SUV 😂. No one who actually works off road in nature drives a SUV, they aren't very practical space wise and as a work vehicle.

As a owner of Mazda, and Subaru cars ('95 "Ford" Probe GT, '86 RX-7 and BRZ, Legacy GT and Impreza WRX) I can respect Hyundai and maybe Kia, but more Hyundai's push to reach out to newer markets. Plus reshape their brand image.

I own the previous generation to urself and the non turbo counterpart from 2012, and while it isnt fast by most accounts it has and will continue to serve me well on a backroad, generally is pretty good on petrol (tho i believe my MPG readings to be horrifically wrong stating anywhere from 45-55mpg on a long run (UK gallon)) i will firmly stand on it being the best car i have personally driven (ive only driven 1 car at any length of time)

I own 2019 veloster turbo ultimate and it's been a blast I've put +85k miles in 3 years and it hasn't skipped a beat but i honestly am sad that I can't buy a new veloster anymore

Never liked the Veloster. But I do really like the Elantra N and N74z in fact the 74 is my dream car. Never thought a Hyundai would ever be a dream car brand for me

If Hyundai released the N Vision as a 4 cylinder turbo or v6 making like 300 whp it would be legendary. But they canceled that plan so I guess they're sticking to ugly family SUVs.

This is a phenomenal video, great production. The veloster was very interesting to me when i was younger, I remember seeing the turbo in a show room when my parents car was in service. Love your veloster too, for some reason I can't help but enjoy those graphics.

The tiburon is super slept on tbh , they weren't properly as modified in the us but in Korea there was some crazy builds , even in the earlier 2000s making 600 to 700whp back in the early 2000s which is impressive, theres old videos on RUclips, they also had some crazy gt car set ups one of which was destroying, cars like a Porsche around the track . I personally have a turbo 2.7l v6 tiburon myself. The first generation veloster was a disappointment imo and not much of an improvement and actually worse than the tiburon. No one in Korea seriously even messed with them . The second generation is better and finally taking steps back in the right direction.

My mum has owned 3 Hyundai's since 2003 and had no major issues with any of them she had an Elantra first traded up to a 2005 Sonata and a 2012 Azera Limited though the later is in the shop right now having its back window repaired and they're having trouble finding the part because so few of them sold over its 19 years on sale in the US around 200,000 units where as in the same time period the Honda Accord for ex sold nearly 7 million units in the US

I have a soft spot for the 1st gen veloster turbo. It was a real head turning car during their initial run. All it needed was a sportier suspension to improve on its accent ride quality

Hyundai’s have always been lacking in the looks department. They’re either to out worldly or looks too bizarre, just to stand out in the market. Granted, they looked so painfully boring when they started in the early 80’s. Now, Hyundai have the distinction of being the car preferred by carjackers.

In Kor tuscani 2.0 liter with turbo often makes 400, 500 hp tuned and eat trans like snacks, swarning the highway. And V6 (elisa) often tuned with superchargerf and makes 350 - 400 hp. it has geto multilink in rear. sooo kinda tunable.

Can confirm, the 2013 Veloster Turbo will blow up. Happened to mine lol There was a weird knock or rattle and the dealership they said they never heard anything and then drove it off only for it to go poof and have white smoke come out of everywhere a few miles later

5:48 Hyundai couldn't use the Tiburon name in Spain because that name was owned by Citroen, because the classic DS was nicknamed Tiburon by most people, so Citroen patented it for themselves

The main issue with Hyundai for my Korean parents is the massive issue of inconsistency, it’s not because the car itself is inherently bad, my grandfather’s 2012 Tucson is going fine with 257K miles, it’s the ridiculous inconsistency and sheer lack of will to control individual quality as seen in Honda or Toyota, Hyundai is shooting itself in the foot. You have my grandfather’s example and then my aunt’s Tucson from 2014 completely bricking itself around 73K miles. I really like Hyundai cars, my uncle had Scoupe and later the first gen Tiburon before he unfortunately passed from age related complications, I really want to say Hyundai is a reliable brand but reliability means predictability and consistency-and for your money, it’s just not worth it. Especially with prices Hyundai offers now, but I do hope Hyundai not only gets cooler but more reliable.

if they wanted to be cool, they wouldn't have stopped producing the 2025 Ionic 5N and started producing the N vision 74 concept as it is.

i really wish we would have gotten the I30 N in the states i think it looks so much better than the Veloster we did get the Elantra GT Sport which is a step down but still an I30 the I20 N would be an absolute riot to drive too adding to what you said about the Kona N, id hardly consider it a crossover, its about the same size as the veloster just with a liftkit,, when you lower them back to a reasonable height it just looks like a funky tall hatchback
