Te Ihu, the OG MTB Track - Te Mata Peak
Te Ihu!
Near the top of Te Mata Peak Road is one of New Zealand’s classic mountain biking trails, the oldest single mountain biking track built in the 1980s by periodic detention workers and is the oldest, longest and, arguably, best in our Park.
It has been renamed it Te Ihu (the Nose) because it runs from the Nose of the Peak. This Grade 4 trail takes riders to down the Te Hau Valley, with a challenging ride in outstanding scenery.

Te Puia - Rotorua Geothermal Valley

Night view of the stunning Te Puia Geothermal Valley. The Maori legend behind this stunning place is very fascinating, explained by the legacy of a man named Ngatoro-i-rangi and the origins of the geothermal resource in Aotearoa (New Zealand). The earliest legends speak of Ngatoro-i-rangi, a tohunga (priest) who came to Aotearoa on the Te Arawa waka (canoe). Exploring the area, he climbed one o...

Wonder for how long it can carry weight until the motors burn?
Beautiful spot. I was there recently and had an encounter with a sea lion. Then I saw a pod of orca in the surf. Probably after the sea lion!
@@hudsonquay wow, what a lucky encounters! Where you on the board then encountered the Orcas?
How does the drone react when you release the weight. It's clearly working hard, then that weigh is gone, could you lose control?
Lex Ghh Ghh Ghh fh jkk jkk I’ll ll ff shah km k
fire track 🔥
Wow
Damn, that's some cool terrain. Your drone looks like it has a mind of it's own at times haha
@@TrailAtlas yeah, and it was starting/stopping recording on it's own, never done before. Frustrating cause it missed couple of nice features being recorded
Can it fly it out 1000 yards and back??
A classic! Nice work Davide 👌

Che figata!
Si, secondo me é la track migliore a Te Mata
Awesome trails. We shuttled about 5 laps of the different trails up there today.
@@davidharkness8343 was it you with the big bikeframe? I saw you as I was pedaling up
I was there with my two boys. It must have been your drone we saw on our first run when we stopped to check the first hard/easy split.
The reason for 130g to work perfectly cox it was well balanced vs earlier one propeller had more load, so the drone struggled to stay levelled
So about 150 grams if you still want decent flight performance
Decent video song choice is horrendous
Hey what is the name of the string used to attach the weight?
Normal fish rod
Did you use it for fishing after these tests? How did it go?
Yes, I took it out and works fine, I had to find another solution to the remote based release did not work beyond 100m
what do you use?@@imagesbydavide

I’m looking at this trying to figure out how to drop lines to pull Christmas lights up in my big tree. I know….but useful info
beautiful place😍 nice shots👍
Great pictures 👍 nice edit👌
Bruh just couple of min ago i just attached my dji action camera 3 with my drone(145gm)& try to fly it just take off normally I'll try to fly it tomorrow with my action camera & I'll post it on RUclips so stay tuned & wish me luck 🤞
Omg, why ridiculous music
I like awful music
@@imagesbydavide The music is indeed awesomely awful, but at least you don't say anything during the video so it can be safely muted :)
@@imagesbydavideI like you bro. 👍🏻
what is the battery life with 200g? how long can I fly with a standard battery and additional 200g?
This music is so fucking annoying
Nice 🤙
How about just telling what you are doing instead of that annoying music!!
Cause I'm annoying
@@imagesbydavide😂
Music choice Suuuuucks
Bel video Davide non lo avevo visto
Grazie! Si io e gli algoritmi di YT andiamo su frequenze diverse 😬😬
So technically you could use this drone as a fishing drone to drop baits out
thats a great idea
not very good at the lifting then compared t oa mini 2 that can lift 290 grams easy enough ( 10 .22 ounces)
do you know how long can I fly with additonal 200g?
hi is there a max range of 30m or 50m restriction when you use a payload > 50g?
did you find the answer?
Great video
Thanks 🙏🙏
Love it!!! 👌❤👏
Thanks for sharing part of your life and adventures. Your daughter is having a fab time.
Thanks David, got to seal those great memories!

Are you still living in Welly ?
Nah mate, left welly in December, working/living around
Hey, I was wondering if you could tell me where you got these videos of the championship from, as my Dad fought in it but we can't find any footage of him in the championship let alone the entire championship except from a 2 second clip of him fighting in it. If you could let me know it would be heavily appreciated, thank you.
Hi Lescobar, there was a DVD made of that event merchandized by AIKK, that organized the tournament. Try contact Shihan Wakiuchi in Messina to see if there are still available copies. I had one at home in Sicily, but I live now in New Zealand so sadly can't help much. Greetings to your dad
@@imagesbydavide Thank you for letting me know, i'll try and contact him or have my Dad try and contact him about it.
Complimenti per il video Davide, non lo avevo ancora visto!
Is the Surf good for Learner's?
I think it is a great place for learners. Sandy beach, no rocks and usually small waves with no big rips. I've learnt surfing there and always felt very safe
@@imagesbydavide Yo Thanks man I'm 40 years old and just starting to learn how to surf I've always wanted to surf I'll be definitely going there for a surf this Friday 🤙🏾
@@onedrop6011 good luck mate! I started surfing at 33 and its been a fun ride! My advice is do couple of lessons witn an instructor to get the basics right and use a foamy as long as you can because sets you right! check my video of last far north trip
@@imagesbydavide thanks for the heads up my mates got a bit of experience so he will be taking me out can't wait to ride my first wave
This won’t burn the prop motors?
Nice
Thanks heaps!
Bellissimo
Grazie Compa!
that music ruined it and you could have done the gram to ounce conversions to save everybody googling them
no one usually watches my videos so no need to save anyone's time
You don't have to google conversions They are right on your calculator.
You should save everyone's time by converting to metric like almost every single country on this planet.
@@crashd1n3r But then we would have to use that sucky system that can't even follow its own rules.
Are you too lazy or too ignorant to do the conversions yourself?
In the beginning of your video your drone was lifting like 260 grams ant then it was struggling with 130g. What happened?
I wonder if it was the battery capacity lowering maybe?
Great stuff! :)
Thanks!
Bel video e auguri agli sposi!
grazie compa
Thats a lot of red... I feel when your not on video, your stuck on a wall somewhere with a big white cross on your chest. q8D I used to live on those tracks with my trail bike before they shut us out and bulldozed a couple of the neat tight ones... You can ride out to the Right side gun sight for the Writes Hill guns (The track is visible at 1:36 in the distance and accessed at that point (or from the Radome, Or from round the corner of 1:12 that was cut but you can see the other track down into that valley on the right at that point.... But from the gun sight buildings it's easier to carry your bike down the creek East of the buildings...
Ahha yeah, I put a red kit to help the drone on the follow function. When I tried at Makara with black jersey and green backpack few times he lost me as it confused with the bush
I see, Few years ago I rode at long gully, down west from radome, then sadly the land was claimed back. But there is so much to explore in the area, and so much trail potential as well. I just saw today a post from Kenneths brother about plans for new trails dropping to Red Rocks
@@imagesbydavide Was that the one from the Turbine where u turned left, it said Nah, Ima going straight. (Nope, Checked, It was James Mason),,,
@@imagesbydavide I made a KML of a track that could start at the foot of the Radome, Run the west side of the ridge you ran down, Pick up the big roll down as you hit the coast (as you can get huge speed and big air (even on a steel Milazo ... tho the cross wind is hell) then cross the road behind the holl you round (with the view of the gun site track) and wind down the gully to the new last goat track section. It would make one of (if not 'the') longest single run in wellington... But as you note with the track. Its all rotten rock. I ran the ol National track from the Radome road to Long Gully... Too many gaps for a non gapper. My ol Foes was suited to it but I was not.
Someone else already covered the 1st point I wanted to make, that your test weights didn't look to be centered. My 2nd point is that when lifting off from the ground (or other flat surface) the vortex created by the props tends to reduce the lift due to what I call the “doughnut effect”. In that, the prop wash directed downwards is then deflected laterally by the flat surface & curves around to the upper side of the props, reducing the available thrust. You might find increased performance by lengthening the string between the drone & the weight(s), although this can also increase oscillation & control (feedback) problems. Hand-launching would solve that problem. I read in another test article: “In our standardized thrust test, the Mini 3 Pro was able to lift 420 grams in addition to its own weight, a 2.7:1 thrust-to-weight ratio.”
Thanks for the number. I was looking for the thrust to weight ratio!
Max load 420gram?
Figata! Riprese super!
Grazie!
