Machine shop and Foundry tour

A machine shop or engineering workshop is a room, building, or company where machining, a form of subtractive manufacturing, is done. In a machine shop, machinists use machine tools and cutting tools to make parts, usually of metal or plastic (but sometimes of other materials such as glass or wood). A machine shop can be a small business (such as a job shop) or a portion of a factory, whether a...

Do you have to leave ez lynk hooked up or just download and unplug from your obd
Wow I didn’t know this was possible. My 2012 Laramie is in my homeboys shop getting an entire top rebuild. I wanted a stronger cam & springs with a high volume oil pump, . Im getting it back in a few days. This will be one of the first things Im doing. I dont wear my seatbelt on short drives, I only wear it if Im going on long highway trips.
Bro, is it supposed to be sparking like that? I don’t think it’s supposed to be sparking like that.
It’s common with the material thanks for watching
Hey man couple tips not a critique or anything but your insert needs flipped and your running a little fast especially without coolant or oil
Yeah spindle speed can definitely come down but the tooling is reversible insert so flipping it wouldn’t do much. This is carbide not hss coolant isn’t necessary with a couple passes thanks for watching
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 I figured it was carbide I'm a CNC machinist and if you want a faster cut coolant is a must titans of CNC just recently made a video on it actually
@@Scachamp currently going to school for CNC machining and one of my favorite sayings for my professors just cause you can does it mean you should in not running coolant
@@williamwil1737 never said you had to use coolant I said especially without coolant meaning with coolant you might be able to get away with it but without most likely not good luck in your school very good trade to get into
@@Scachamp I’ll have to check it out I’ve watched their videos it’s amazing not my style but still appreciate their work
Does it run ?

Can you turn off the water valve and run hot water to empty the tank?
I thought I heard western PA in your voice at the beginning…. Then you said “De-thaw”… confirmed it. 😊. Deer roast is my favorite.
Worked like a charm thanks!
You’re very welcome thanks for watching!
Haha never have to drain tank, dumb. Turn water to tank off, relieve pressure from pressure valve and take element out, maybe a quart of water come out…
Awesome thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. Going to look into that today. Hauled cows last night. No trailer lights
@@wallyyuriy8912 that’s not good combination! Hopefully u get it figured out!
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 well. Replaced that fuse. Good now thanks!! Got a few for spares in the glove box. But I’m going to replace the plug end on the cattle trailer. I think there’s something touching in there to cause it to blow a fuse. It shouldn’t do that.
thats so kool!!
Hey man good content. See you have no updates on this kit. Was it a bust? Or issues. You have no other videos after ?
I need to do an update video for sure. So I’ll break it down for you as best as a I can if I had to do this all over again I absolutely no doubt would do it! I have over 38k on this kit and it’s everything I ever wanted and more. The downside is the little bit of turbo lag I get but in other areas it makes up for that. I noticed if I shift my auto manual during towing I don’t notice the lag (this is the only time I notice it tbh) if you have a manual transmission you’ll be set. I also have had 33s and 35s on the Cummins matched with 373 factory gears for gears could be the culprit of everything I’m experiencing also! No clue why they thought people would want 373 s in a dually but here I am paying for it! I would say once I change the gears I’ll fall back in love. The only other problem I experienced the one piece stainless manifold eats gaskets because it’s more designed for racing rather than street like a 3 piece the next time I replace the gasket I’m going to lock tite the bolts and double the gaskets I hope it will help it’s all trial and error. I hope this has helped u some. Thanks for commenting!
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 thanks for the info. Is this on stock fuel, good tuning? Just got this same kit same manifold with 464. But I have lift pump and 50hp injectors. 16 6.7 Cummins. ?
So Cute!!🥰🥰

Use monolithic solids to test penetration.
Thanks for the help! Great tutorial and I will do as you say, not as you do.
Hahaha always a good answer
Basically OK But Tank not electrically wired to code and TPRV not properly plumbed to code Both Safety issues
Thanks for the information good suggestion
What are the gdp tune levels? I just had this done and didn’t ask when I picked it up.
I can’t remember but 3 of the tunes now 90 110 and last 250 when I tow I use the 90 everyday driving 110 and 250 only very seldom while I’m moving to prevent trans issues I’ve had great luck
Well done my man👍

How do you know if it's the thermostat or heating element if no hot water? Or even just reset button??
That’s way above my skill sets that’s why I always state some sort of “don’t try this at home” thing. There are multimeters etc ways of testing all this but this is just for entertainment purposes only. Thanks for watching
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 Its me from the future.. the problem with my unit wasnt the heating elements or the thermostat at all... I had a wire inside the wall that had fatigued and broke.. it was BARELY making contact which was giving me voltage but not enough to run the unit... tough one to diagnose
Anybody smarter than me know if you can put a 25amp fuse in to avoid it blowing again? Could that trigger any codes? Or melt wires? Lol
Haha thanks for watching
Is that what usually goes wrong on these units? I recently lost all hot water
In my cases yes not every but most
I think that’s my problem, well water ! One of my elements might not be working, takes forever for the water to get hot. And I noticed a kinda bubbling noise when the heater pops on, I bet my elements have that buildup too. Well that’s what I’m doing tomorrow, good to see the job done before doing it Thanks👍
Sorry about the delayed response I apologize what did it end up being? Yes well water is great until u get appliances!!! Lol
Wait this job is fired
Nice thanks for watching
Thanks for the video, I have been thinking about replacing the same gear in my Logan 200, and it is in much worse condition than yours. It’s called putting it in back gear with the knob out but mine has never worked so I am not sure what it does.
I been through this and another Logan 200 they are quite simple I learned to work on if you have the right tools. What did it end up being? Sorry about the late response
That's a bingo
Haha awesome thanks for watching
Hey man, I just wish you mentioned to people that when you drained from the top element orifice, all that water soaked the insulation and most likely the terminals at the lower element. 80% of the time, it's the lower element and if you have that much build up you will just keep replacing them. Not to mention the danger of shock and mold from moisture.😂
For entertainment purposes only as stated im not a plumber thanks for the input it’s definitely solid information
why not DRAIN the tank FIRST ?
The well water builds up you go to drain most times the drain will not completely shut off
It's the Exhaust manifold, , can't keep water out without pulling the pipe and covering the tin work. It will fill the 2nd cylinder with water . I have the crank for it and use it if I leave it outside for a while in the rain just to make sure it won't water lock before I hit the key . 10-30 to 30 . That's the best part about these old machines They don't care . Don't be worried about feeling a chunk of metal in the drain plug whole if when you pull the plug and it looks blocked. It the plug that goes in the end of the oil pickup screen . Quick fix just pull the pan bolts . My pan had a small leak so I killed 2 birds that day .
Don't know if the electric heating element is the same in gas water heaters? 😂
Nope as stated not a plumber but definitely open to learn! Thanks for commenting it really helps the channel.
What HP do they recommend for that haybine? I have been looking at one for my four acres. I only have a 30hp tractor. Ya think that would make it wor or would it be angry lol
I’d assume 40hp is very low end you’d need for a 9’ but if you look for a 7’ you could probably get away with 30
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 thanks for the feedback

Good deal! what part of PA are you in? I'm near Lancaster.
I’m near Pittsburgh west of it about 50 minutes
The problem with the 45-70 and dangerous game is the outside of handloads and may be a few custom manufacturers like buffalo bore. You can’t find solid rounds. Expanding bullets are fine for smaller game like hogs/deer/etc but when you want to hunt real dangerous game like they have over in Africa, you want a non-expanding bullet. You might be able to find some thing from Lehigh defense or Underwood as well, but you’re going to pay dearly. But it would really be nice to be able to get stuff from the regular big-time manufacturers like federal and Hornady.
What’s your wife think of that gem? 🤣
The ladies love these old clocks 🕰️
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 I dunno bout that 🤔
I was never aware that they did this until recently and I had to see if there were any videos of it... did not see your full description at first but wondered "Is he from Pittsburgh?" :-D Very interesting. I wonder if I have ever heard this and just assumed it was some sort of bird? I never would have guessed that was a baby deer.
Hahaha ya western pa where around Pittsburgh are u
@@frontwoodsfarmer2063 Grew in 31st ward which is apparantly as south as you can be and still be in the city of Pittsburgh. And it's funny how as much as all the t-shirts and stickers try to make yinzer speak cool, the things that give us away to each other are a lot more subtle. My kids make fun of me for saying "mum." But it seems to be a curiously swpa thing to say mum. That's what caught my ear. I don't know how far that reaches. My own "mum" came from westmoreland country - there's a bit of a range to the dialect I was raised on.
Wow & thank you. I heard of other people breaking things doing this. I an glad someone finally shows the right way to do this, and I can see why others had trouble. I replaced my old layered belt with a Drive belt with clips & pin. I also added some heat shrink with glue on the clips to stop the annoying click click click of the pins as they hit the metal pulley Wish I had seen this sooner.
Thanks for watching I wish I’d seen this comment sooner! I appreciate your kind words I learned much more after working on this and other Logan 200 they are actually quite simple and easy to work on after doing it. The problem I generally have is being intimidated to start a project without having much knowledge on a machine. Thank you
I upgraded to a BXA tool post holder a few years ago for my Logan 10". It sure is nice to just drop a cutter in and have it dead on. The size is AXA for under 10", BXA for 10" to 15" and CXA for the even bigger lathes. The BXA 250-201 is the holder I use the most, with a couple of BXA 250-201T that will hold up to 3/4" tool. I bought my 250-201 holders years ago in a 4 pack for about $30, but even today at a price of about $14 ea. on Ebay I doubt if I would take the time to make one.
This is hard to find information for sure I’m sorry I just seen this comment. I wish I did see it sooner it would have saved me lots of searching! Another thing tough to find out is how to size and fit carbide tooling for holders! I’m slowly understanding it but it’s not as each as using the charts like most say I think it’s a time/experience deal like most things in the machining field. Thanks for watching the channel!
Have the friend lay a piece of fine sandpaper on a flat surface, like a table or piece of glass. Place key on the sandpaper and with a couple of fingers sand down just enough to work in the lock. Brass is soft and shouldn't take long.
Thank you for that it would work good I’m sure and can also use different grits.
The ole 'back of the hand' open circuit verification method! 😄
