He would bat .098 in the MLB today. He was good in his day though.
Slow mo of his swing is unbelievable
Greatest pure hitter of all time.
He would have known
Can we go back to this plz! Baseball sucks now😢
@@ericcarlson924 I’m doing my part to help bring it back to this. Thank you for supporting and please spread the content ⚾️
I hear ya, but its the same with every major sport now
@@humorinpolitics56 Everything comes around in waves. I think in time the game will get back to making fundamentals matter. Right now it’s not about talent as it use to be and it’s more about metrics and numbers. If those numbers say swing like this, hitters will start training a certain way to achieve those numbers and that’s what’s wrong.
Sounds like a golf swing, too
Before he thought about it on the third check swing....it looked likenhe was going to snap rhe bat downward
Love this.... incredible video ❤
Y does every legendary hitter have a video like this
It’s a good thing they do because the way a lot of coaches are teaching hitting now, a lot of hitters are lost and don’t understand how to hit due to all the misinformation.
@@cwayebaseball ok yea that’s fair
Fuck Ted Williams he was ashamed of being Mexican
Today's umpires would probably disagree with Ted on where the strike zone is...
One of the greatest American heroes!
@mambotango Yes indeed!!!
Love trd williams human hitting machine
@@user-iv9er3nr6z Indeed. Ted Williams, Rid Carew, and Tony Gwynn are three of the best to ever do it!!!
It would help if i don’t have Angle Hernandez behind the plate at every game
He’s retired now so you should be good lol
I knew someone would bring him up.
That's my 5th cousin
@@Cristian_hoyt In that case it’s safe to say that you have a wealth of baseball knowledge in your family!!!
@@cwayebaseball a bit lol
5th cousin isn’t anymore related than a random person you see on the street.
He was part Mexican. Mother’s side.
@@j-e-mproductions6274so what. Go find your random Ted Williams type player in your family. Good luck. Keep us posted.
Bc it’s harder to hit the ball if you’re view of the baseball is changing
@@faithfulphysician4667 Yes and mainly because a hitters’ eyes are relaying information with regard to velocity, trajectory and location to the brain and hitters moving their head will cause that information to not be accurate or change it while the baseball is on its way to the play and the ball moves to fast for the brain to adjust at that point.
What am i looking for
@@Glassboi69 You’re looking to pick up the pitcher’s release point so you can start tracking the baseball as soon as it leaves the pitcher’s hand. The red circle is the area where the ball is coming out of so you’ll want to shift your eyes there.
@@cwayebaseball ok thank you
Release point
No that’s why I don’t do that
????????????)
Only 3 or 4 inches....
Only three or four inches?? That's 10% of the length of the bat what the fuck
Nothing in life is for everyone, but there are people who still care about the sport @premiumraizo
First
I didn't think this was news to anyone. Commentators have been using the phrase "he can really compress the baseball" to describe guys who are known to hit the ball hard for as long as I can remember. Kind of cool to see the high speed footage of it, though.
And all that just to create a sport that nobody cares about
Please just speak for yourself because maybe no one cares about what you think.
@@danielhoward4566 please don't do this
@@PremiumRaizo Okay.
@@danielhoward4566 thank you. Is there anything else we need to discuss
@@PremiumRaizo I don't think so unless you can think of something. 🙂
BS. Lets see any major league player take off on a 30ft day at Mavericks
Everyone says football and basketball is a harder sport but really it’s baseball and golf are the two hardest sports.. golf the ball doesn’t even move and yet a lot of ppl still can’t hit the ball and if they do it’s not accurate at all.. and no average joe is hitting off an mlb pitcher
It’s actually not that hard if you’ve been doing it for 20+ years…. Any athletic person could hit 1 out of 25 pitches. Baseball is easiest major sport
Why aren’t you in the big leagues then bud?
Cause he's not athletic 😅
@@orinbrim7019 that’s a stupid question, do you really think all the best baseball players are in the big leagues? I bet there’s a dude better than the top players that never made it for whatever reason. I played D1 ball and I’m here to tell you hitting is easy 🤣
Cap
That is the most arrogant comment I have seen in some time. It's not an easy sport. It's a sport where you fail more than you accomplish.
This is not even the most challenging part. The ball is moving faster than the object trying to hit it. Point of contact is the most challenging part of the game. Not just how fast it is. Plus direction variation on pitches and timing change.
Cap lacrosse passes at 60 ft can come in faster and you’re catching it in a bet while moving and hoping to not get hit
But it’s lacrosse
In lacrosse they are actually trying to hit your net, whereas in baseball, they are trying to get you to swing and avoid you hitting the ball
Do they go 100+ miles per hour with a smaller ball that’s being spun in ways to get spin and rotation and movement? The pitchers job is to make the ball unhittable. Lacrosse you want your team to catch the ball
Yea and your catching it not swinging a bat at it?? Shut up dude
Did he say lacrosse?
Don’t let nerves get in the way @dingers14. Keep putting in the work because your success is in the preparation 👍🏾
Thank you for the advice. I always get nervous on two strikes
That’s correct but In my experience the kids who don’t think about following through and extension tend to start to decelerate the bat before contact.
I completely understand @gdujjbgh. I think the trick to help them with that is to get hitters to understand that hand speed is more important than power. Kids these days I don’t think really understand that them being able to accelerate from the time they trigger their swing through contact and out of the hitting zone is the most important thing for them to work on. A lot of the talk is about power and kids think trying to hit a baseball over a fence is what’s important when hand speed is the most important thing. Power is developed in the weight room.
Give it a try and see if it gives you a feel for using the ground and staying in your legs 👍🏾
I got to try this I sometimes strike out couse of this thanks
Hitting the bullseye every time
You’re shifting all your weight forward. The end of your swing should have equal distribution of weight between your feet. All of yours is on your front foot.
Great eye. Thats what he’s working to correct. He’ll get there once his body starts to feel and develop muscle memory for the body movements that work for him. Stay tuned!!!
shut up
