My Name is Katie or My Melanoma World. I was diagnosed in 9/26/06, with a discolored, dark, risen mole under my left forearm. It was very quick, wide excision removal, my world blew up. 2 weeks later, the results were in, Stage IIA Melanoma skin cancer. 2008, my 2nd is starting kindergarten & just two weeks after my 2nd daughter’s birth, a lg. ping pong size tumor appears in my left armpit. Now stage IIIC, one surgery after another, 15 surgeries to be exact, tons of chemo, immuno & radiation treatments. I was feeling like there was no end but I pushed myself like I never thought possible. Tons of scans, dr appts, year after year, getting radiation & poison in my veins, Stage IV Meta/Malignant Melanoma by 2009. I am an advocate. Sharing my story, being raw & real. Holding nothing back. I want others to know, that miracles can happen.I am proud to say I am a 10yr, Melanoma Skin Cancer Survivor!- MyMelanomaWorld, Stay Shady everyone

I was just diagnosed today with melanoma, and the dermatologist cut it out, but I'm headed to Markey on the 30th of July. I'm so scared. Thank you for sharing your story.
@@tayoriginal4067 I hope you are able to get a strong doctor that will help support you and take care of your health. If you have questions, reach out, be your own advocate and lean on family/friends! Also don’t use google for info. stick with real credible sources.
You are incredible! ❤
Thank you so much! 😊
@@claireenright9935 thank you for saying that, very kind
@@MyMelanomaWorld so true though. It’s not easy to share what is so scary in your life and it gives people hope 💛 I hope you are well 🩷
Is she died?
Talking,,,,,not on ..
🙏 congratulations🙏 Your Story is Your Superpower
I've nearly died from boredom let alone melanoma
Background talking is so distracting!!!!!!!!
The "but what if they did?" Just hit different. I watched this like 10 million times!
I’m curious to know if you have had to deal with lymphedema after lymph node removal. I’m going to check your other videos.
I had a little issues with it but months later I haven’t had any more problems
Thank you for sharing this. Your mole story reminded me of mine: weird eraser sized mole appears, then gets itchy & bloody, raised off the skin. I’m Stage 3 & having my 3rd surgery next week. I’m glad for everyone like you sharing info & educating others. There’s a lot of misinformation and sadly judgement out there.
which immutherapy u give
❤
omg that “BUT WHAT IF THEY DID” that was IMMACULATE.
you dropped a pin! could i have it???
I wish she would release this version as "mad tv"
How many times have I watched this Yes ✨
The background noise is very annoying
I’m curious, what your symptoms were that led you to know the melanoma had metastasized to the brain?
Hi! Good question. My left side of my body had issues. I would have something in my hand and drop it uncontrollably. I had speech issues but most of all MY HEADACHES were inconsolable. The pain of those is what led me to the ER for a brain mri!
@@MyMelanomaWorld Thank you for responding! I had melanoma last year. They did the excision and that was it. No checking of lymph nodes, no oncologist. I feel like my case wasn’t taken serious. Skin checks every three months but I’ve been having headaches everyday for three weeks now and occasional tinnitus like noises in my head. The pain is in a different spot all the time. I have an appointment Thursday but I have a feeling they will procrastinate getting me an mri.
You can always get a second opinion! That is something a lot of people do, especially when it comes to dermatology appts. Wishing you the best and I hope you’re safe from further skin cancer cases!!
@@MyMelanomaWorld thank you so much! You as well! ❤️
My father who is 86 was just diagnosed with Merkel cell carcinoma. At the same time, he was also diagnosed with his second squamous cell carcinoma. I had never even heard of Merkel cell carcinoma. Turns out it is extremely aggressive and rare. My father is scheduled for surgery on May 15. 😅I am his caretaker so I am taking him to all his appointments. I have had two biopsies in the past for skin cancer, but they came out negative. I did not take care of myself. Did a lot of tanning when I was younger and including in tanning beds. I am almost 66 so that was a generational thing. I’m so sorry you dealt with this as a young person. Thank you for providing all of awareness that you are. May you stay strong and healthy for years and years to take care of your family and enjoy your life.
Hi i'm sorry for what happened to you I have a personal option to make, Google is not the same as 2005 Google no have lots of information and RUclips people personal experience can help you to find out things in my experience thanks to Google and RUclips I found out my daughter had leukemia because my daughter pediatric didn't believe it she said I was negative about my suspicion we went to the emergency room because the pediatric didn't do nothing and hospital yes the confirm my daughter had leukemia so basically I safe my daughters life by searching.
I am a 32 year old cancer patient, it’s not melanoma, but just having cancer and treatment puts me at risk of other cancers. I also have a family history of skin cancers, everyone in my mums side of my family from age 40 and up, all have skin cancer. This video is a wake up call, I don’t wear sunscreen unless I am actually spending time outside. Most of the time, I am indoors because I am disabled and bedridden. If I go out, it’s to the car and off to the hospital most of the time. I have never really thought about how the sun rays still get on me anytime I go out, even if I am not spending the day out going to the beach or something. So you have helped me and given me the best chance to prevent melanoma. I am also going to get this strange mole on my toe checked. I want to say thank you. I hope you’re doing okay. ❤
stage 4 here since 3-13-13 still getting clear scans every year... cannabis !!!! the miracle drug that big Pharma dont want you to know!!!!! "Never Give Up"...
😘
I have a friend who has been battling stage 4. And yes, many of those who she considered "close friends" have abandoned her. And yes her family really does not really comprehend what she is going thru. They see her condition as something chronic, rather than a struggle for life.
I am so sorry you went through this. It's tough. Fortunately there are many new melanoma treatments and vaccines on the horizon. Best to you. 🙏
There are so many from the beginning days of my battle! Thankfully I have been cancer free for a decade now and advocate for melanoma.
What is the name of the app that will help me keep track of any changes?
See a Dermatologist at least once a year...have them check the top of your head....
I don't have melanoma but I've been binge watching your videos. You're so strong and I wish the very best for you. ❤ (Also, super random but you remind me so much of Mira Sorvino.)
Thank you for supporting me and for learning about skin cancer through my content!! I am very grateful for those who take part in all they can with my story!!
I greatly appreciate your video. I’m “watching” a couple of places that have already been treated (cryotherapy) by a dermatologist. ❤

I was in a really bad wreck when I was 19. I had more broken bones in me from it than not…but considering I went through a windshield I’m lucky to be alive. The damage was so extensive that my left collarbone and one of my ribs did not heal correctly because they were not set back properly. So for the next ten years everything just hurt…people who haven’t lived with constant pain simply don’t understand what it does to you mentally…it got to the point where I wouldn’t leave my home. I finally went in and had two back to back surgeries to correct these issues and life’s been far better since. I don’t know what’s going on with you, but I’m sorry that you are in constant pain…I let mine lead to a pretty bad pill addiction that I had to beat before I could even do said surgeries. I hope you find the answer to your situation.
Dogs rock...Lol
Thank you for sharing. You’ve certainly overcome so much. Addiction has gone through my family and I can’t imagine still how difficult that must’ve been. I have long term damage from my extensive cancer treatment and 17 surgeries over the years. So pain has just been a huge factor in my recovery in survivorship. I also have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic pain and fatigue, neuropathies, nerve damage and inflammation ect. The list keeps growing….so sleep has been one hard time after another.
@@MyMelanomaWorld thank you…I’m glad to hear you survived your cancer treatment…and so sorry to hear it did so much damage.
Saving
Thank you for this video. I found out two weeks ago a spot on my back was melanoma, stage 2. I go in on Feb 14th to have surgery. Wish me luck. The spot was on my back and my husband never noticed and of course I couldn't see it. On my back was odd because it has not been exposed to the sun since the early 80s. When I was younger we layed out all the time, no sunscreen, etc. I guess it catches up with you. I had a full body scan because of other spots I wanted checked out. I kept putting off. Glad I finally went or the cancer would have gone unnoticed. I pray you continue to be melanoma safe.
So glad you’ve been proactive and got this location checked out. We just didn’t know then and sadly so many still don’t or look the other way, “that won’t happen to me!” Let’s hope things go smoothly for you going forward, sending my best!
I love what you have to say but the TV in the background makes it hard for me to attend with the competing noise.
It’s my daughter and she was trying to be quiet. We did our best with the location that we could in our house
The people in the background are annoying
It’s not annoying when it’s my daughter
I’m so sorry I shouldn’t have said that.
Big congrats!!❤❤❤
Congratulations on your 10 years CF milestone🎉
Thank you, I am stage 3...you give me hope❤
I am thankful to be able to help and spread awareness, only hoping that someone like yourself finds some peace in my story. Sending you my best, everyday!!
Congratulations, inspirational. Any tips? ❤️
What tips are you looking for? Maybe I can narrow some down
@@MyMelanomaWorld anything you have done which you feel has got you this far? Diet, exercise, sleep etc… 👍
Congratulations, doesn’t begin to express how wonderful this news is!! Celebrate every single moment!! It is a miracle! You are a miracle! You have been given a gift! You are using this gift to bless others, to educate others, to support others! My husband was given months to live after his Melanoma diagnosis, and he is now coming up to year 6!! We live with hope with each passing day, week, month, year! Life has taken on new meaning! Yes, it was hard, yes, not everyone could walk with us through the journey, but as a family we got through it and still do. My husband has also been released, no more scans, oncology visits, or treatment appointments and no lab visits. That was even hard to accept, because it became a comfort to know what was happening. But we got use to that as well with time. A new normal. Now each day we wake up and accept the gift of life for today! Yes, we are always a little on guard, watching. But that’s a good thing! I watch him closely and he gets skin checks. But we choose to live and not worry. Worry would be such a waste of the gift we have been given. It isn’t always easy, but we try. It is so very sad to know too many still pass away from Melanoma. It’s cruel. But the medical community is making progress and lives are being saved. Education and early detection is still so important. You are getting this message out to the world! Thank you!! 10 years is reason to celebrate! I am just so happy for you! Blessings to you and your family! Live your best life, Love, and continue to do everything you are doing to bring awareness and to give hope! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
CONGRATULATIONS!! 🎉

Sending you strength and support
I will have myself check tomorrow. I have a odd looking mole that unexpectedly appeared few years ago and still worries me. I hope it's not melanoma.
Hoping for positive results. Glad you’re going to get it looked at! Sending my best!!
Rich people havent a clue what pain is
Thank you for educating us.
I thought melanoma didn't itch. God bless you. I just had a recurrence. I had 12 primary tumors in 2019.
Yes it can and is a symptom of some moles that can be cancerous. It didn’t itch right away but when it started to and it bled when I scratched it, I knew it was avoidable to not get to the dermatology

Why did you lose people around you? Did you withdraw or did people just back off and leave? 😮. I thought most sunscreens contain carcinogens themselves. Do you use a special kind? This was 2 years ago but popped onto my feed. I pray all is well today.
I don’t know, people couldn’t handle my cancer I guess
Heart breaking…RIP beautiful lady. My beloved sister Kimmie survived 18 months. 😢
