I went with Starlink out here for internet. It's expensive but a necessity for the web work and AI stuff that I do online. I've talked to the neighbors about modules from ATT and Verizon but the cell signal out here is terrible. Which is another reason I chose Starlink. If I had better reception, at least 2-3 bars all the time then I may have considered a cheaper cell option.

I'm so blessed to be able to find this piece of land. I'm about 20 minutes from Erin. I go there for garbage and shopping for food. People are so nice here. I love it. I love the rolling hills too.

There are tiny piles of dead wood that I'll be burning and logs all over the place that need to be trimmed up for firewood. There is just so much overgrowth to deal with that I decided from the beginning that I would need to chip it all up as I work the land. I could only image how big my pile would be by the time I'm done clearing an acre of land. Well, I'm off to mulch my life away. lol

@@JustinsOffGridAdventures Sounds like you are doing it because you like to do it. I think you need to spend a bit more time with a cold one by a fire more often. Burning pencils like you seem to have plenty of will only take a few minutes and you’ll need a lot of them to get a big pile taken care of. Have fun with that sharpener you have, but I guess of you have a stick or two that machine does the trick. 🤠🔥

I did the same thing with my mailbox when I first got down here. I looked for the closest UPS Store and got a mailbox. My stuff is still being sent there for the moment. I still have to go to the Post Office to get a box here in town. Next up will be changing my license over to this state.

@@JustinsOffGridAdventures the ups store is really handy. I still have mine and use it for anything related to the RUclips channel including if anyone wants to send promotional items, or adsense documents, etc ... Before I moved to Washington, I had the ups store as my address and was able to have that as my driver's license address. I was stoked about that since I got out of my apartment and didn't want any mail going there anymore

I"ll agree with you for sure. I am camping. I'm also clearing land for a cabin. I have no electricity or sewer, garbage pickup, etc. So I'm technically not connected to the grid at all. Do I have some amenities to help me pass the time and to upload my progress? Sure do. But so does everybody else that is off grid. They have internet and generator backups too. Subscribe and you'll see that this is much, much, much more work then just camping.

@@JustinsOffGridAdventures skirt trailer. get small trailer to haul water 250 gal plus. rain water catch tank. shit in bags throw away in trash. diy septic 55gal drum with small drain field. eco temp on demand for hot water. burn more less chipping will keep the bugs away

I got the warranty on the Generator and the Woodchipper. That poor chipper.

I live out by Erin, TN - in Houston County.

In the county I'm in it's allowed to have a camper onsite all year. In TN, it depends on the county you live in that dictates the land and what your allowed to do with it as far as keeping a camper onsite, building a tiny house or getting one shipped it as well as septic and water. When you choose a parcel that you like and are thinking about pulling the trigger the first thing I would do is check what county the property is in and then start doing Google searches on the county's land use codes. I just heard a story this morning while getting my water about a family that had bought some land looking to be off grid and found out shortly after that there would have to be a septic system or water installed. You can always called the county building codes office and ask them questions as well. Like you, my plans are to build a cabin as well. Chickens and dog are a must too.

No, it's a Hyundai Tucson and it can't pull the trailer either. I need to either rent a truck when it comes time to extend this driveway or I'm trading my Tucson in for a truck.
