Western Mountaineering Antelope MF First look and why I Chose it | A geeky Talk about bag design.
Просмотров 17 тыс.5 лет назад
First look / initial review of the Western mountaineering Antelope MF cold weather sleeping bag. This thing is insane lofty! By far the best piece of down gear I have ever had my hands on (excluding feathered friends and ive seen a lot). The bag is rated to 5 degrees F but for me I can easily see myself pushing this to -10 with base layers. I like backpacking quilts for warmer weather 30F but a...

Sony a6300 4k 60mbps vs 100mbp. Sony a6300 4k video test
Просмотров 92 тыс.7 лет назад
Just a quick comparison between 4k at 60mbps and 4k at 100mbps. Is there a difference between 4k bit rates in the Sony a6300? If there is I can't tell. There would probably be more of a difference if there was color correction added, but Im not good at color correction, so I didn't do any. The Sony a6300 is on pp2 no other adjustments were done. This was shot at 24p. My other channel ruclips.ne...

Sony a6300 vs Sony a 5100 in 1080p I first thought these two sensors were the same, but they are not. Honestly I don't know exactly what is different but thats what Sony claims. All of the setting were identical on both cameras throughout the testing. I noticed maybe a little more dynamic range in the a6300 especially on the water. In slog you would definitely get better dynamic range but I don...

SONY A5100 VIDEO REVIEW the good and the bad

A quick video specific review of the Sony a5100. I answer some of the questions I first had when I was looking at this camera. Does the Sony a5100 overheat? How is the auto focus? I also show the audio difference between the iPhone 7...

I have both and love both (Sennheiser and RØDE) …. Looks like you got two faulty units unfortunately. Like I said I have both mics (that’s why I was intrigued by your video) and I honestly love both … so sorry you had a poor experience. Check out Tom Buck’s videos for a fairer review of mics including Sennheiser, Deity, RØDE, Shure and many others.

I have both and the NTG has ruined some of my audio for my short films because of a low max SPL of 120db and it distorts audio from loud signals even with the in -camera audio dropped to ony +1 and the Rode gains settings at only +2. I wind up getting the older Videomic Pro + and the audio recordings were so much improved with a higher max SPL of 133db. I see why the OG is still holds it value.

Rode sounds better, Noise background isn't the error of Rode. You must have a hot temper, and don't know how to adjust the microphone. I'm using Rode Go II, perfect, I had background noise. set Airplane mode, no wireless.

Don't own the NTG but have the Rode VideoMic GO II. Sounds good via USB-C into my Mac, but the 3.5mm TRS output for cameras is prone to RFI-picks up a local radio station loud and clear. I didn't return it since it can be used via USB boomed over my Mac. But, yeah a disappointment. So I bought the MKE 600 and love the sound. Plus, it appears to be RFI resistant when in the hot shoe of my R6 MK II or jacked into my Zoom F3.

There is another option to send it back if you don't have the time to drive to UPS. If you're impatient, then I can understand. I don't blame the frustration. I feel you on that. I think you may have had two faulty Rode Mic. I almost bought the Rode NTG but decided to go with the Sennheiser 600.

Rode has 10 year warranty on the internal battery…I think…you are right. Them sending you a new one then containing the return box and label would be the most convenient one…I would think maybe…a lot of Rode customers might have taken advantage of this process that is why the real ones having real problems are being affected…but you are right…it’s their problem…I was almost looking to pull the trigger on a video mic NTG…🎉

The only important thing to consider here is the memory card you use. If it's a class 10, you'll get just 60 Mbps and a V30 will give you the full 100Mbps. The price of the cards will differ so that's something to keep in mind depending on the specs you want to choose and the price you're willing to pay. It's only important when you do heavy movement videos because it will retain more detail on each frame, if you don't move that much it's not that important. The more you move the camera or there's movement on the video, the more compressed it will look because each frame will be more different. This is exactly why old confetti videos had such bad video quality. If you film RUclips videos, the max bitrate is 45 Mbps with 24, 25 and 30 FPS on SDR, which is a lower bitrate than the minimum you'll get in 4K with this camera and also why this video comparison is kinda pointless hahaha. Hope it helps!

I've never owned a WM bag (being from europe, all the import duties and stuff) and didn't see one yet, but I own 2 Cumulus bags. One for 3 seasons (my first bag), and another winter one which I've bought after making a mistake and buying another winter bag from another well known premium brand (won't say the name)... Needless to say, I was utterly disappointed when I noticed that the loft of the "premium brand winter bag" was equal to my Cumulus for three seasons, lol... Costliest mistake of my life so far. Had to get a winter bag from Cumulus to fix my mistake. The amount of loft is simply much higher, and the design too. Moral of the story: yes, some brands really make much better bags than other, even if they claim the same temperature rating. Look for the details, like baffle design and loft, that's the key.

The 400F thing is called a marquench or martemper, it doesnt do anything for hardness but it does bring you past the nose but stops before it turns back into martensite for the most part. Its when it chnages to martensite that you get the 2% expansion so doing it slow is good for reducing cracking and warping, you can bend it before it sets. The unexpected thing is that you easily get 2x toughness even after tempering from many steels this way by reducing the internal stresses. Anyone thats worth their salt that does traditional water quenching is an expert at pulling the knife before you get into the martensite region below 500f where water cools significantly faster than oil.

After watching this, I kinda see 60m as for casual work. At 100m, it’s best for serous work like a movie. I know a big difference is that 100m has bigger space I might be wrong about the quality. I have filmed concerts at 4k 100m cause I want the videos to look amazing. What do you think?

I selected the WM Antelope (5ºF) with Gore Windstopper outer instead of the Microfiber outer which has a 2,000 Hydrostatic Pressure rating. GWS outer has a 12,000 Hydrostatic Pressure rating. This outer will not absorb moisture/water. Huge thank you to another youtuber, Al Linsdau whose video clearly showed the differences between Microfiber & Gore Windstoper outer fabrics. WM uses YKK COIL zippers - no teeth to snag. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada

Hey man, spectacular review! I wish you would review ALL of their gear and help us out when choosing. First time hiker here, never slept in a tent and about to choose my first sleeping bag. Huge dilemma: Kodiak MF or Lynx. Average temperatures where I plan to camp are -5C all the way to -15C. That's average, so basically, sometime it can go even lower... tent is Hilleberg Allak and the pad will be Thermarest XTherm. Any ideas which one to go for? :) Cheers
