Such nostalgia. My late husband and I fulfilled our lifetime dream and lived on a fin keeled Moody 346, until he became too poorly to continue. It was beyond perfect for us ❤ Miss him and "Sapphire" dreadfully.

Bilge keel is the most underrated keel design. Absolutely perfect for shoal draft and stability.and allowed the boat to set on the bottom in a tidal area.
Some older bilge keel boats were very poor to windward, but the few produced now seem much improved- Sirius for example

@@theespjames4114half as much as a deeper keel. But doubled for the twins. In short, the same or less as it’s not scraping as close to the bottom as a fin does. Unless you sail like me, and scrape with alarming frequency. 😤

That's what I thought, I have a 24ft Motorsailer and she looks far more roomy than mine. Just looking at the distance between the mast step and the Coachroof, there is no way she is only 23 ft.

Looks nice but that gets old pretty fast when you're forced to take a shower every time the wind kicks up to 20 knots. Straight sided bow = constant spray in your face
